Wow! Elementary to Middle school is a huge change. I did it a few years ago. Middle school is so different from elementary. The students can be the best or worst. They are little kids in big bodies. Enjoy!

I didn't realize this was a career change for you. What was your previous career? I had a pivot too! When I lived in the US I worked for a non-profit residential program for adults with developmental disabilities. When I moved overseas to Turkey I switched to an ESL teacher. Don't get rid of the easel. It is an important tool. I know set up is always overwhelming. Trust me I have been teaching over 20 years and I still feel that way. The classroom is coming along even though you don't feel that way because you are in the middle of it..

Maybe u could put some kind of mat around the bottom of the 2 extra dests to section off that side if calm down area. Was gonna say fabric but padded would be better if someone needs to calm themselves.

The rolling whiteboards can lock so those are great dividers. I have three in my room! You can store extra clothes in that one, just double up ziploc baggies. It's okay to try something and change it.
