Ultimate Fantasy Ranger Kit and Garb Review: Crafting the Perfect Look for Your Adventurous Persona!
Love the video! Just got into archery and this vid helped a lot! Thanks so much.
You are very welcome!!!
i recently found your channel and already in love with this. Thank you for making lots of educational fantasy videos for a newbie for me and love your customized "things" as well :3.
You're very welcome!!!
Tgank you i was curious about medieval undergarments
You're welcome!
Great intro and information.
Thank you very much!
As an concept artist who is trying to figure out how to make the characters carry and use a bow conveniently without "just looking cool", this is really helpful, thank you! :D
You are very welcome!!
Love the intro ambiance.
Thank you!
If you haven't tried it yet it might be worth looking into how flags are folded in the military.
I hadn't!!! Definitely something I have to try as a Boy Scout!
great video....would be good to see more cloak wearing variations, perhaps some ruanna, ive seen cloaks be used as tents, hammocks etc, perhaps using cloak as bedroll for lightweigh sumemr loadout
Interesting
So why fold in alternate corners to get the width you want (1st two blankets)? Couldn’t you just fold in both sides like you did with the last blanket?
Because it is difficult to get the exact width otherwise without sacrificing the preferred thickness of the whole roll
@ So the fold being spread across the width makes the roll flatter. That makes sense. Thank you!
I've tried to create a bedroll for a cyberpunk dystopia and eventually ordered an actual body bag off the internet. Packed it with one wool and one linen blanket so far. Hopefully it will work out well but, I haven't tested it yet.
Cool!!
for cyberpunk dystopia personally i would have gone for a poncho liner....
@neoaliphant not a bad idea
@@neoaliphant that's a good idea. I have two military woobies. I'll try it.
@@cyberdystopia3403 they are a lot more multipurpose than a sleeping bag, the bodybag would efectobvely be a bivvy bag, but if its not breathable it will cause condensation, but then so would a poncho when used with a liner unless vented...i had the polyster slippery fabric so im making my own lienr from ikea thin £3 blanket and a green cotten duvet cover and quilt sewing them together....id advise perhaps a work tarp, i think i saw lots of blue tarp shelters in the cyberpunk PC game....with cinderblocks holding them out....
Nice video! I've never been able tp roll up my blankets in a way that satisfies me, but this is something I'll try as soon as I can. Also, kind of a stupid question, but what kind of blanket did you use here, or where can I get something similar? I have this one blanket from Etsy that I've never tried out, because not only is it huge, it is also way too thick and robust to roll up and wear comfortably. And I can't seem to find any good, affordable blankets on my own... Also, that living room looks really comfy!
An army surplus blanket in wool, a lighter, thinner (almost linen but not quite) wool blanket, and a white wool blanket near the same thickness of the army surplus.
Feel free to drop a comment!!!
Thanks for this very nice interlude amidst all my shorts
Your welcome!!!
so prettyyy
Ty!!
Love the camera work and overall vibe
Tysm!!!
Thank you. It is a hard time for me, so I am really happy to come over something with this nice asthetic. You just gave me somethinng to dream about. Hope you'll continue doing this.
Yes absolutely! I plan on it! Glad I reached someone!
gay
If that's what we're going to call it then I wish more people were. Actually though, let's keep the comments on topic or at the very least on topic. Calling a 16 year old walking in the woods gay doesn't do you intelligence credit. On the contrary....
@@AnachronisticArmory569 why are you so mad at it? he might just be saying that for a joke or something, not necessarily insulting you
@@noloninja It's not funny to call anyone gay if they aren't as a joke. Also why is your first thoughts on this that he's joking? Get help, seriously.
Fair enough! Very possible
Ty
I like how you synched the music into the video. Easy to take it for granted, and assume it just happens - obviously it is a lot of work!
Tis!
protip, if you hit slippery sheets of ice, wrap winningas around bottom of boots for grip
Interesting! I hadn't thought of that. I was thinking about making pattens for the shoes.
@@AnachronisticArmory569 one problem with hobnail boots is that they arent any good for indoros, in my rpg my character has "mud boots" which is basically a strap on sole with hobnails, the wrapping wingingas to underside of boots is something i did with an old pair of wool socks with my modern kit, i kept in my coat picket , the socks cut just the anle part, and if it was icy just slip over my boot for traction, as wool glues itself to ice. with authetic kit this could easily be winingas
It would be interesting to see more options and experimenting on this.
Yeah definitely!
good, only thing i dont like is the scarf, a wool hood would give good neck protection, or a ruana....
See the problem here is I'm lazy, and don't want to see a hood. And though I like Ruanas, they aren't all that medieval.
And I'm experimenting with Living Anachronism's last cloak tent thing. And so far it works pretty well. The scarf isn't really protecting me from the cloak choking me, because I put the toggle lower, and the cloak also has fitted shoulders. The problem is with my wool tunic. The neck line is lower than I'd like. So yes, a nice hood would work! But I'm lazy.
… Lazy and cold
@@lindawigington2746 not extremely
@@AnachronisticArmory569 bear in mind Gandalf cloak is a ruana, and Gawains from the green knight, so for a fantasy cloak it works, skilltree has some excellent ruana videoas, and Iodo dwarven ranger. the tag end of a ruana makes a good hood....your cloak has an integrated hood, but a seperate hood does have its advantages.... personally ive decided not to have a seperate hood, a loose one just flaps in the wind.......
Would a person normally walk with a staff to reduce slipping?
Yup!
It would be interesting to research historical warm head coverings. When you are bare headed seems very hard to be warm.
I was pretty warm. But the problem is that most woolen hats are either felted, or nalbind. Which are both hard to do and hard to find.
Great job on the video!
Thank you!
I was thinking you'd need mukluks or similar, but those waxed shoes are really impressive. Do you think pattens would give better traction? Regarding the cloak riding up and choking - I enjoy the "Bocksten cloak" style of having the gap over the front of the right arm. It means you have to finagle your left arm up under it (or throw the cloak back over your left shoulder), but that still leaves your front covered and nice and warm. Personally, it's warm in the southern hemisphere rn and I'm wearing a bedsheet like a great kilt, so comfy :)
Love the vibes!
Me too! Got the full video in the embedded in the short!
Remember that none of this is 100% historically accurate! It's close-ish in many ways, but not at all in others!

Well done, nice setting/backdrop but one bit of criticism, the cutting from different focal lengths so you are juping back and forwards in this video is a bit disorientating...
Okay 👍
Wow. Consistently slower than Shad despite his minor fumbles and only drawing your bow halfway. Still, it is a functional carry method that doesn't require modifying your bow and let's be honest, if being a second slower on the draw would get you killed, your bow is not the first weapon you'd be reaching for. To be honest, the thing I like better about your method is neither the speed nor the lack of alterations, but rather the lateral stability. Shad's nail holder system can leave the blow flapping around; sure it won't fall off easily, but there's a lot of movement. Wrapped around the quiver like that, I can only imagine your bow moves more or less the same as the quiver, which should make it much easier to run, climb, and anything else you'd want to do on an adventure.
That's very true. Though the nail catch is faster (plus at the time he had had a bit more practice than I had had at the time), I did not like the feeling, though it is my one personal preference, of it swinging about alot
Nice recap!!
