How crown princess margarita do in balcony I low sun exposure
Any variety recommendation for low sunlight exposed area ?
Unfortunately, many of the listed perennials get fried here in the Central Texas heat. Some will do well in the early part of spring and part of the fall, but the rest of the time they will either wither or stop flowering during the hot period. Salvias are one of the exceptions, and thankfully, there are a wide variety to choose from. We've also had good luck with Gregg's Mistflower, which is native to Texas, and several of the Agastache. All of those are perennials.
i love this video......very well explained and you kept it simple and easy to understand and emulate
Thanks so much for your kind words. I am glad that it was helpful.
Great vd
Thanks so much!
I bought from Costco everytime and never could grow beyond 2 inches in San Antonio, TX
Which flower was that?
This was a great analysis. Please recommend a climbing rose to grow on a fence for screen but also beauty.
Constance spry by DA is a great option especially if you want to grow on a fence for screening. It has large leaves and lots of thorns so will be helpful for protection too. You just might want to be careful if you have kids. The only thing about it is that it blooms only once in summer and is not repeat flowering. This is their tallest climber. Malvern hills and The lady of the lake are two other options for Rambling roses that grow quite tall so will work well on a fence as long as you train them well.
Beginner friendly and do it once and minium care ..for a front garden / borders which looks nice even during winter (i am looking for a mixture of blue like lavender and white and green grass .. ) any suggestion ?
For flowers: Salvia a a great option for lavender and blue flowers, a good option is Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna' (Sage) and you can combine them with a grass like Stipa tenuissima (Mexican Feather Grass) or Phalaris arundinacea (Variegated Ribbon Grass) that is variegated with white and green colors. Hope that helps!
@@AmritaBhortake Thank you so much for taking the time to guide me this is so nice as the task is overwhelming between picking plants and making sure it is ok in cold climate, direct sunlight when there is sun , and also plants that need minimal care ..
Learning hope soon to start.
Good luck!
Are you CA
Yes, I am in zone 10B
I hope you are not talking about an Indian context? Cause, these flowers are not available in this part of the world commonly.
This is based using the USDA agricultural zones so if you can find them in your area and it works with your growing zone, you can definitely try growing them in your garden.
@ These flowers are not found here. I got confused by your name and accent.
Good 💡 to growing .
Thanks so much!
Thanks

@@AmritaBhortake Welcome
Madam, inspirational vedio. But can you please be kind enough to let us know about some climbing roses exclusives for North Indian region in India.. Otherwise it carries of no meaning at all...pl respond at the earliest
I am so happy you found the video useful. The recommendations for your area would be dependent on your zone and the specific microclimate that you have in your garden. I would recommend looking up your zone that is comparable to the USDA zones and take a look at this video. I have included zones for each rose so that will be helpful to you.
now INTO LEMON GRASS PARTY
Thank you. If you would like to make delicious lemongrass chai, here is the recipe: th-cam.com/video/0RIUq6u0Ku4/w-d-xo.html
I love anything Chai. I would love your lemongrass chai recipe. Thank you for sharing your video it was very helpful to me. I am going to harvest my lemon grass now. It is October and the weather has been above average still in the 60's., frost once. Thank you again !
I am so happy this helped. Thanks so much for your kind words. Here the lemongrass chai recipe video: th-cam.com/video/0RIUq6u0Ku4/w-d-xo.html
Here is a small Hydrangea which grows well in a large pot. I have three and they are so manageable and l only prune them lightly in Spring. Hydrangea Ophelia Switch. Flowers start off green, then white, then cream, then pale pink which progressively darken to more rosey pink. Can really recommend this Hydrangea.
Oh that sounds wonderful! I will see if my nursery carries it. Thanks so much for the recommendation!
They look gorgeous- great job Amrita. Do you also have video on when you trim them during end of fall and how short do they need to be ?
Thanks so much for your kind words. Here is the pruning video for climbing roses: th-cam.com/video/CUA8sb9phls/w-d-xo.html Let me know if you have any specific questions on it.
The short Lavender l grow is called Blue Spear. It's flushed twice with vibrant strong purple, quite large flowers. I got them at my local nursery in England, but you may have to order 19:24 them online as l dont see this variety generally for sale. Highly recommend.
Ooooh those look stunning! Just looked them up. Thanks so much for the recommendation. I will try to see if I could order them online.
Amrita l have query that can david austin climbers bear the heat of india and if it can i plant it in an west facing wall which gets about six hours of sun but i am afraid that the plant will burn in the summer because some times the tempurature is 40 degree celsius or above and will they bloom as in lower zones i was looking for growing the generous gardener climber rose, in an large cement container
It really depends on which rose you pick and what your particular zone and microclimate looks like.
Beautiful video and the rose jam scones with berry jam looks to die for! I love the ingredients in the scones but don’t suppose I could replace the eggs with applesauce or banana? Want to try this recipe! Thank you so much. Following you now!
They turn out absolutely delicious. I haven't tried it for this recipe but if you don't want to use eggs, you can try using flax seed meal to make a flax egg.
Excellent idea! Thank you so much and for your quick reply. Have a beautiful day!
After growing lemongrass for years, I’m finally using it! Thank you for sharing your recipes. I just made the lemongrass chai & it’s really amazing
This gave me so much joy today! I am so glad you enjoyed it.
I also like begonias and dahlias
Agreed! They are soooo beautiful!

Regarding peonies: Look into planting a tree peony- an early blooming variety. The biggest plant or bare roots you can find. Plant in a location with absolutely no afternoon sun. Good luck!
Thanks so much. I will definitely look into that one. I hope it does well in my zone.
I have been slowly adding perennial flowers to my garden -- now I know which ones I still nee.we are watching from korea 💛💙❤❤🩹
Thanks so much for your kind words. I am so happy this was helpful.
Love this. Tea is amazing medicine and soothing
Thanks so much for your kind words. I especially love how beneficial lemongrass is and how wonderful it tastes.
David Austin is the most overrated breeder in my opinion. Most roses dont do well in rain and stems never seems to hold up blooms.
It depends what you want to get out of your roses and what is important for you. I love the beautiful fragrance of the DA blooms and the many petalled rosette blooms that are extremely unique and cannot be bought in a store.
Butterfly also 😂 .
Hope Honey Bee 🐝 happy to 🔍 .Butterfly
Most of these are loved by both bees and butterflies.
Love it when you say, Heliotrope ? ...what the hell is a Heliotrope ? Same here ! ... But the Myrrh fragrance in roses doesn't smell like the perfume Myrrh. it is so much more... weird and difficult to put into words, If you can think of banana, vanilla, with the strange essence of wax shoe polish, {here's where the myrrh comes in.} if you ever smelled Geranium essential oil, this has a little bit more of that strange scent...than the shoe polish. It is such a strong identity that people either love or hate it. i myself love it for a distance smell, like just walking by...it teases the nose, where up close it can be offensive to others. It's the "Monet" of perfumes. Wonderful from a distance, a mess up close ! The older varieties like Fair Bianca, had it...strongly ! but none of the newer ones have it that strong...which i think is intentional. Good luck with your roses ❣
Hahaha so true about Heliotrope. I still haven't found it in person. I recently found it online. You might be right about the newer roses and the strength of fragrances. They are definitely a lot weaker than the older roses.
@@AmritaBhortake So right ! i used to have most of DA's older roses, but got tired of being disappointed with the newer ones 😭😭😭😭
what’s a talkey
I am not sure what you are referencing. What part of the video did I mention that?
My yarrow always flopped over no matter what i did..finally pulled it out
Oh no! That's terrible. Was that particular variety? Did you give it a support?
Heliotrope is a gorgeous purple blooming shrub. It is probbly the most fragrant plant you can grow
That's true. I recently found out but still haven't seen it in person.
@AmritaBhortake Proven Winners have them available. I think about 5 different varieties. Perfect accompaniment to a Lady of Shalot. Augusta, Incense, Atlantis, Marine and Aromagica are the variety names.
Hi. Iam curious about your tomato support. Can you provide more information?
Sure thing. I am using a lower and lean method to grow the tomatoes and absolutely love it. Here is a longer video on how I've grown my tomatoes in a small space: th-cam.com/video/KJIuNc16z2E/w-d-xo.html Please let me know if you have any other questions and I would be happy to answer.
