There’s just something satisfying about a pedal Bombarde. I am partial to the Posaune, because the organ I regularly play has a particularly nice one, but I have also played organs where the pedal had an impressive 16’ Bombarde. I have to say, it was tempting to use it more than I probably should have.

OMG are those speaking pipes? I used to work for an organ builder. I would have NO idea how a shop could make a metal pipe like that.

Unfortunately the editor had ruthlessly cut off the audience applauds. It would have been nice to capture some of the atmosphere, which I imagine was quite exceptional. I would like to hear full organ, without and with, to hear the difference. This demo is not convincing.

Sounds like he can't get through BWV 541 or Cantata 29 quick enough, meanwhile the Widor Allegro V was four square and lifeless in parts. Widor 5 is a wonderful emotional rollercoaster in sensitive hands.. Enjoyed the tempo of the Toccata, quite a mixed bag!

Olivier is the Godfather of today´s organ world, it is impossible not to succumb to his charm and talent!

Latrys playing fits very good to the look of the organ !!!

Listened to this during a long drive with my phone feeding car's sound system. The audio quality was incredibly good. Loved his virtuosity and repertoire selections, and he does the Dupré Noel variations and the Widor 5th like nobody else. Latry showed off the new organ in unexpected and thrilling ways. And the Dandrieu - wow. Can't wait to hear Lapwood or McVeigh do Interstellar on this thing. Highly recommended!

I had the privilege of attending an Olivier Latry recital at the organ rededication of the organ at the Cathedral of Saint Paul in Saint Paul MN. I sat 10 rows back got to see the magic of Mr Latry up close. Wow!!

Has the organ maker copied Tampere Organ style in here...looks pretty same but smaller ? Sounds nice though.

how a great organist can play right into an organ they just met days before as if they've played said instrument for 20 years is beyond me. I heard Mssr. Latry on a good but rather nondescript (hardly world class) organ in suburban Chicago about a year ago and I still can't get over where he took me.

en france a chaque fois qu on crée une pièce d orgue on dirait que ca été écrit pour les militaires, quelle arrogance ce son meme si c est beau hein mais c est un peu trop cavalier ca manque de subtilité. On aime faire du gros bruit insoutenable avec l orgue en France mais la vraie musique d orgue comme celle de Bach c'est bien plus fin et bien plus subtil, brillant sans pour autant être faiblard.

Latry is the only performer I know of who plays the pedal line legato. This, together with tutti, is the only way to capture the spirit of the piece. People who say this is too heavy don't understand a thing, and are better off sticking to their Bach G major minuet.

Fantastic organ!

Unsurprisingly, this is a fabulous perforamance of this most loveable piece.
