The key to this whole thing are the Pillow Block Bearings (3/4"). Picked up two of them on Amazon and mounted them to a 1x2 with a 3/4" hole drilled through the middle. This slides onto the 3/4" rod mounted to the top of the 2x4 with some electrical conduit brackets. All together the hardware cost me about $30 in July of 2023. I already had the steel base and wood.
