KEEP YOUR TOYOTA BUILD PAPERS TO INCREASE RESALE VALUE.

Just something fun I did after I bought my 2022 Toyota Tacoma. Stored all my original build sheets and window sticker into a folder along with pictures I took of the truck sitting on the dealer lot the same day it was dropped off by the carrier truck. Let me know what you think of this idea ! I find it fun and truly something to look back on one day if you keep your vehicle for many years.

Just a quick overview of my tacoma. This is my first video I’m posting on TH-cam . I hope this gives anyone looking into buying a tacoma a good idea of the truck overall. Thanks for watching!
Got my 23 tuned with OTT. Runs great.
Needs the OV tune!
lol@3.4 twin turbo n gdi is gonna last
I have a 21, plenty of power overall, but feel it’s a little down on torque. But I still enjoy it, just getting to 35k now
LOL It's a tiny truck of course it's going to feel like it has plenty of power. Try towing a small boat over hills or up a mountain. Torque is nonexistent in those things where you need it most. They are designed for off-roading and not towing.
I own a 2022 SR5 V6 Tacoma 4 door 2WD made in Mexico and I love it. I bought it brand new in 2022. I haven't had any problems with it. it runs great, has enough power. It's great.
2018 Trd sport. 2 wheel drive. Over the years driving it I like it more and more. I would like a older diesel for doing truck stuff. But. The Tacoma. Is my daily driver. And actually. It has great horsepower for daily driving. And drives like a car. Very comfortable. Great truck
I bought the the last of the best 22TRD off-road six cylinder good years lasted well. It was a good year. just put on Michelin‘s at 32,000 miles. I love this truck to death..
I can agree wirh some of the shifting issues, mine holds gears longer than needed or downshifts to soon , my guess is the computer is trying to get the best fuel economy
Electrical steering tents to fail.
Why some time there is a knock noise?
@@georgesantiago6005 direct injection and engine cleaning cycle
@@trdfenz3005 Can I use the 5w30 engine oil. thanks
@@georgesantiago6005 yes but 0w-20 is recommended
Anyone having a timing chain cover oil leak? 2023 TRD Sport 2WD here with 2,200 miles and I've already got an oil leak.
Great video
I’m an old duffer and don’t need to race around like I did in my youth. That said, I installed a cold air intake and an OTT in my 23 TRD Off Road Tacoma with the TRD Performance exhaust. My Tacoma now has 318 horsepower and 295 lb ft of torque. Yes, it will fly when I need it to. But most of the time I’m driving around 67 mph with the cruise set on 67mph at 1,500 RPM. But when I kick those horses under the hood, I’m glad to know that they will Get up and Go. I’m getting 22mpg at 82mph on the I-90 in Montana
At my age all I do is pee and 💩 but if you want the last of the good stuff this is it. Toyota went with the four cylinder turbo with all the pressure on the motor they won’t last this truck will be the last of the good ones👍
My 2020 has the aux tranny cooler. I think you’re right on the money.
Dang that red looks good! 👍
This engine got so much hate from the 4.0 fanboys and now they are quiet since the 3.5 is gone and replaced with a turbo 4. Wasn’t a fan of the 6 speed auto they put in this because it behaves weird after corners sometimes doing things like holding 2nd gear for much longer than it should
Agreed the transmission could better but the later years of the 3rd gen were much better. As for the engine it’s just as good if not better than the 4.0
It’s have turboo or not?
No turbo
Got exact same one! even rain guards lol mine is a 2023
Is this the same engine Toyota puts in the Camrys v6 as well?
They are under power but that's why they last so long !!
I absolutely Love my 23 TRD Off Road double cab with the premium and technology pkgs and 6’ bed. I’ve modified it a bit so I’m getting more horsepower, torque and mpg. We normally keep our vehicles for 15-20 years, so at my age I’ll probably be dead in 20 years.
what mods for more hp?
It has more than enough. Unfortunately now these trucks are 4 cylinder single turbos. Weak small engines that need to rev high for uneven power
Barcelona red gang!! I agree, I find v6 Tacoma has plenty of power! Im pretty confident that this generation will outlive the new 4th gen!
I have a 2022 Sr mot much difference for the extra $4,500 just better rims a little more chorm and rear power sider windo. and fog lights.
Premature Passenger side exhaust valve failures.
Yeah that’s not a common problem at all considering the hundreds of thousands of these trucks built
its the same as in the last RX450H Lexus ? mine does not have D4S but Atkinson cycle in the old 450H ...its 2GR-FXE
Barcelona Red Metallic! The nicest looking truck on the road!
The voodoo blue though
Agree these things will last if taken care of ,traded in my 01 prerunner with 310k on it for a 23 trd of and i love it,had frame rust issues and only replaced radiator when plastic cracked and water pump everything else original parts, thing still ran like a champ 2.7l bullet proof🙂👍
Ford does have port injection and direct injection on the 3.5 ecoboost and 2.7 ecoboost from 2018 and up. Also the 2.0 ecoboost and 2.3 ecoboost now have direct injection and port injection as of 2023.
I like your truck. Noticed you are in automotive repair. Did you purchase any extended warranty?
No I didn’t
@@trdfenz3005 I didn’t either
On my one year anniversary of my 2023 v6 with 16000 miles I had to have the engine pulled out to replace the timing chain cover for leaking oil. 👎
Camry engine in a truck 😂
I’ve had my SR for almost a year, I really don’t understand the complaints about this drive train. Mine drives 50 miles a day to work and back, I average about 25MPG a week with two 70 mile trips to pick and deliver 8 large bales of hay for our horses every 2 weeks to a ranch up in the hills. Never had a single lack of power issue at any time, it shifts smooth and runs like a top, the truck is an absolute joy to drive.
Add a cold air intake and you’ll notice an improvement
To loud, timing cover will leak and cost over $4500, my rear differential was replace 6 months after I purchase it took them over 5months to fix, transmissission problems.
What year was it? And you probably bought a rebuilt title one.
Hope much is it, I’m thinking of buying one
Around 39k
Super nice taco
Almost 300 hp, 140 mph on speedometer, Tow almost 7000 lbs, shifts so smooth you can hardly tell it. The japanese engineers are laughing at the nay sayers...Resale unbelievable.
That is all very true!
So incorrect
@@sebastianromero420show me one thing he said that is incorrect
@@55Bergthe cricket silence is deafening… Great engine - I have a 2023 SR5 Trail Edition and absolutely love everything about it. Been driving Toyotas since 1983, so I know how well they are made.
Only thing id disagree with is the smooth shifting. I turn ECT on and it downshifts kinda hard and stays in high RPM for a while @sebastianromero420
I bought a 2023 Off Road 4x2 in Barcelona Red. I trust the 3.5 v6 and its the reason i bought it...longevity.
Some great points, thanks
How's the driver seat comfort
I have the same truck. Just wondering if you knew it had an auto start? When your truck is locked hit lock 3 times then it will start and run for 10 min. My key fob nor my salesperson mentioned it. Good trucks and love the color. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent review of this Toyota engine! Very informative and helpful! Wish you would make another video on this pickup. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Yourwelcome . Glad you enjoyed it. I haven’t made a video in long time. I’ll have to make one again soon.
Getting my 22 Taco tuned w/OTT was the best $400 I ever spent. Love this engine
The ATF cooler issue is a little confusing. Toyota’s website says that the 2023 v6 models have one. I wonder if the brought it back?
No idea but interesting
@@trdfenz3005 seems they’ve integrated it into the engine cooling system. There’s a heat exchanger between the engine coolant and the transmission fluid.
Love my '21 trd off-road with 6-speed manual in army green. The OEM battery is sh**. It will corrode terminals and cables and hold down bracket in record time. Use it as a core and replace it with AGM Battery. Odyssey, Optima, or an alternate brand, it will no longer be a threat to your electrical system.
I have the 2023 Limited NightShade Edition. The Engine is a Non-Turbo, Normally aspirated engine. It creates torque at higher Rpm's because it's a short stroker! With a Turbo, it would not be a gasoline sipper as it seems to be. I find it does the job beautifully! I don't mind having to push a little farther on the gas pedal, and listen to it wind up to higher Rpms. Mine will hold 80 mph and deliver me 20mpg on the flat roads no wind. get into hills, and the transmission has to compensate for the lack of torque at lower rpms. Because the torque converter can fully or partially unlock, it seems to shift more than necessary. It is really the torque converter unlocking fully then partially locking and then fully locking that is a little much. But I don't mind. Toyota builds the best transmissions in the world, so it doesn't worry me in the least.
LOL what utter BS! The best truck transmissions in the world throughout the last 20 years have been Ford, Toyota and Allison in that order. Toyota would never be able to compete in the 3/4 and 1 ton truck segment. Toyota sold ~ 120K Tundras in a year. Ford sold over 800K F150s LOL!! And the Tundra has had some bad recalls recently with total engine failures. Welcome to the big boy club Toyota! LOL.
Why do I see some sr5 with turn signal mirror is that a add on ?
Technology package
What is a sprint booster for faster acceleration and where might you find this thanks
No idea I don’t have one
Do you know if these 3.5 V6 engines have a timing belt or a timing chain?
Timing chain
I believe the main timing chain drives the two intake cam gear phasers and there is a small chain on each bank that goes from intake cam to exhaust cam to drive the exhaust cams. Now I’m curious and will look it up in manual.
