Bad ass. My dad used to make me run one of these as a kid to munch up the demo debris. I miss those days
Thats a. K model
@@albertemanuello7471 it’s not. It’s an L starting at 11k3921 it’s considered an L but used the K style track frames up to 4100 or so according to my parts manual.
What ended up being the issue? My 977L makes a groaning noise when lifting the bucket and its very slow. I have an old 977H that is much quicker and responsive when lifting the bucket. I have the hydraulic oil cooler out because it was leaking. I just looped the hoses back for now. Only thing I can think of that would be causing my issue is the hydraulic pump. I'm wondering if you ended up replacing the cartridge or the whole pump.
@@kennethsliger9702 mine had a very recent cartridge install, just when they did it they rolled the shaft seal and all the oil would run into the converter and was overfilling the trans. It was recent as far as hours on machine go but had been many years prior. I don’t think you can get the whole pump, besides a cat cartridge is affordable.
@@HaydenIngram thank you sir. I will look into the cartridge. Given the symptoms I described, does that sound like the pump in your opinion?
@@HaydenIngram Also, do you happen to still have the part number for the cartridge? My 977L appears to be of the same SN vintage and the pump looks identical. Edit: Found it in the parts manual. For SN 11K7239 and up the cartridge is part number 5J4502. It looks like this is for a 50 gal\min pump.
@ typically the groaning or whining is some type of inlet restriction, although all hydraulics have some type of whine to them. But if it’s slow to move the bucket typically cartridge is on its way out, I’m not sure how slow is to you, you can run the machine high idle and go from ground to full up position and time it that will tell you if the GPM is low.
@@kennethsliger9702 I can check and see, what’s your s/n?
Just to clarify. You still cant remove the axle assembly as a hole. You have to disassemble the ujoint while its in the machine still. You said you can unbolt it and it will slide it. It does not..
what 'wattage' LED fixtures did you install in your shop?
@@metalfusion67 they are 200w high bay LED’s, only 6 are up as of now, will add more when the 2nd level is finished…
Nice shop! It will serve you well.
Thank you for your time to show us around your shop. Nice shop
@@brentreid7031 Thank you!
Hayden A person would be lucky to be your friend (and neighbor). You always seem do a really good job.
is that a Cat holoow cylinder or aftermarket? looking for one similar with two-way action to do my steer clutch piston guides
@@metalfusion67 it’s a cat cylinder used to press bogie pins out on high track dozers. The ram you’re looking for I actually have in my toolbox. It’s a lot shorter than this one and has a much shorter stroke. Can get you a p/n for it
Thanks for this very useful video! Do you know where to find this threaded bolt to remove the cap?
its a cat tool ill have to see about finding the p/n again
@@HaydenIngram Good morning! Did you by any chance had time to check the part number of the threaded bolt?
@@VanHekTrading sorry for late reply. The CAT p/n is 5p-5264 for my A model should fit the B model too.
@@HaydenIngram Thank you so much, I am ordering a couple right now!
@@VanHekTrading should only need the 1, you will need the tap to clean the holes out and use anti seize on the threads and you’ll need a 3/4 or 1” air impact to get them pressed apart.

No need to Decelerate
Wait so what is the part called?
range sensor or neutral safety switch. BWD 9192 p/n for this particular truck. 1997 f350 7.3 4x4 e4od
@@HaydenIngram thank you very much
Hi mate! Im in need of taking that plate off, and resealing it, gasket has given up! How do you get it off? Oil pan is off, just trying figure out the plate
i believe there is 4 bolts,1 in each corner its been almost 2 years since i built mine, but i do remember bolts just not sure on the number. i assume you are talking about the intermediate oil pan plate?
No need to use the brake on those directional changes
How do you get the u joint apart?😢
Good day am working on a 3304 engine I change fuel pump but engine not starting. Could you help me with some of your knowledge.
Pin the flywheel, pin the pump, make sure number 1 rocker arms are rocking this indicates top dead center on number 1. Torque the pump gear while pins are installed, remove pins and reassemble. Prime fuel system with the priming pump, loosen the injector lines at the injectors and move the governor rod to the run position and fuel will come out at the injectors, tighten it all up and it will start if pump is rebuilt correctly

cats claim to fame poweshift under full load
u dont throtle down when u change gears meant to run full throtle all the time
Do it on a dozer can do it on a loader. Wont hurt a thing.

motor oil
Engine oil
Did the netrual test and bam that was the problem.
What is the actual part called that’s causing this problem. I don’t think you ever said
Neutral safety switch or range sensor. Been several years but I believe the part number is in the video too.
That's not the way that D339 is supposed to run, just plumb pitiful, the way it's cared for!!!
I bought the machine for the blade. Engine locked up, got engine freed up and running. Runs fine. Has exhaust leaks coolant leaks etc. I start it a couple times a year to keep it moving, it won’t ever push another pile of dirt.
Assegno circolare ❤❤❤❤
Now I know.... I have these and tilt to do... Hope I don't have more then a leaky cylinder... Bet it was pretty expensive to bore and do all that work..? Sorry about that.
I did all the work myself, just had to buy the parts. i did my tilt cylinder too. put over 100 hrs on it since. all is going good.
What is this part called
neutral safety switch or transmission range sensor
Dude holy smokes thanks for the video! I think I've finally found my issue. Going to try and start it in neutral tomorrow. Replaced and tested so many things already. This is exactly what my truck is doing
It’s called ‘Powershift’ for a reason
Nice one Hayden! I'm watching this now.
Sound of the engine and hydraulic pump❤️👂
Yeah ive oprate one during the 80s contruction nice machine to operate
What starter do you have?
Sold the truck years ago. Think it was just a car quest reman 3 bolt style.
Thank you. I just cleaned out the suction screen on my D7E 48A torque converter. I opened the suction line to the transmission but there wasn't a screen inside. When I compared parts manuals from the 48A1+ and the 48A6393+ it looks like they did not include a suction screen in the transmission tube on the later models. I found your videos helpful and appreciate your time.
The screen I pulled every machine I’ve worked on has atleast the screen sometimes they don’t have the magnets. I am going to finish part 3 now, I have forgotten about it.
Try removing the Grease Zert and drilling out the hard grease being careful not to damage the Zert Threads !!- if that fails is Pin Out- No Big Deal !!
Yeah had to do that on a few, wasn’t too bad, 1 was the main boom pin, took about an hour of driving it out, drilled the hole out good as new
I have been vexed by this issue in my 96 f350 for two years. As long as i raced the engine on start up and feathered out the throttle, the lope would rectify in five to ten seconds. I tried your trick of putting it in neutral and cranking and my experience is exactly as your video indicates! Thank You! I can not tell you how many mechanics have failed to resolve this issue. I have ordered the part. Thank you thank you!
Seems to be a common problem these days…
What do u mean take your linkage off
The shift cable/linkage.
That thing don't have a decelerator petal on it......open it up and let it breath.
No track loader does. Some people throttle down to shift others don’t. Doesn’t make a difference if you do or don’t.
Great video, nice machine! I have a 977H and absolutely love it!
This video is top notch for real right to the point quick diagnose example of what it’s doing etc then the fix
My 1999 just started this. Any body else run in this problem with there 1999.
I ran across it a couple times on super duties. Icp sensor can cause it even had a glow plug relay not working cause it. Also low fuel pressure.
Curious. How did you remove the inner ujoint? I have a premature ujoint failure on the passenger side whereas the rest is fine. Just hoping to change the inner ujoint only this time around
The one up in the axle? Have to take the one closest to the diff apart. Just removed the retaining clips and used an air hammer to disassemble
Did you end up making a video of installing/rebuilding the track adjusters?
Did not. Should have. On this style you can leave the idler bolted up but have to break the track, then slide idler all the way forward then go through the top and remove the 4 bolts on the end and remove piston, reseal and reassemble about a 2hr job
seems like a sticking injector
If it was that it would just misfire not lope.
@@HaydenIngram i think the computer will shut down two or more injector signals for a bad injector if an electrical problem is sensed. has to do with the way the harness is wired and grounded. either heat or jiggling from the lope cures the short and computer begins firing the injectors? lope is from sequential non fires.
@@peetky8645 maybe but I’ve never seen it replaced multiple singles and ran on 7. It’s been what 2 years since I made this video and the truck still has factory injectors at 374k. Just finished putting a fuel bowl on it as the bottom eroded and was blowing fuel everywhere.
@@HaydenIngram cool - hope she keeps moving along the road.....just got a 95 f-superduty flatbed myself. crank no start. have some work ahead but no rust.
