Welcome! I was born with a rare birth difference called Phocomelia that affects my arms. Even though I face many challenges, I love listening to music, reviewing turntables, speakers, amplifiers and rebuilding vintage electronics. Find a comfortable chair and have a seat. We're diving into the world of Hi-Fi audio and vintage audio repair.

Great, You are
Good for you! You are a greeat example to a lot of dead beats out there.
Thanks you! I wish there was less dead beats out there and that’s why I’m making these videos.
They now sell the warm-white, fuse-style leds with a frosted covering. (Looks like a frosted glass fuse.) They work and look fantastic.
I wish I had some of the frosted bulbs, but the kit I ordered didn't come with that variety. I'd like to try them next time I'm replacing receiver lamps. Thanks!
Very nice . I did a 2270 restoration . I didn't know anything about electronics . Left channel poweramp was dead. It took me two years to fished it. Your attention to details in your videos are very helpful .
@@michelc.1722 Thank You!
I once had a 2245, kept it about two years and sold it so I could buy a JVC integrated amp, tuner and cassette deck. I 'd love to have another Marantz receiver.
If you have one of these receivers, they are so worth fixing. I grew up with one of these and much of my upbringing was spent listening to one. They sound awesome and they look so nice. Just seeing this brings back lots of memories. What a great receiver.
The silver face
With this faceplate being in such good condition I'm leaning that way. Thanks!
Wow fantastic job!
Thank you for the kind words.
Thank you !
Nice, I feel quiet nostalgic when I see all these discret circuits. Good job.
Aren't they cool.. Thanks!
Good Work 👍
@@electromechanic3988 thank you!
You gotta really know your S#$T to hook this up.
Never go by what the board is marked all manufacture are bad for not marking there boards correctly. Always install the way they came out.
Exactly! I think I may have said something to that effect at the @13:19 mark. I don't know. Thanks for clarifying!
That, plus service manuals can be wrong as well.

@@mightyducks5867 Parts can be purchased at Mouser or Digikey. The parts list is derived from the service manual and input from the friendly folks at Audio Karma.
great video, good pace without a bunch of fluff. A bit more explanation around the differential pair would be great.
I explain a little more on the differential pair in Part 2, which I hope to get posted this month. Thank you.
This is amazing!
Thank you. This will help on my 2270 P750 boards. The differential pair, I'm sure the pins go in a certain way. I'm sure I will figure it out when I get there.
They do, but it will make sense when you read the marking on the board. Don't over think it.
This is great. I'm having issues with the phono on my 2230 and considering digging into it like this as I think it might be one of those troublesome resisters you pointed out. But man do I not have the tools for it and might just wreck the whole thing.
It's an easy rebuild. You only need the parts, a soldering iron of reasonable quality, desolder wick, a spool of good solder. Plus a few hand tools such as a phillips screwdriver, etc. Once you remove and replace a couple of the components, you'll be inspired to do a full rebuild of the board. There's a lot of good soldering teaching videos on TH-cam. I recommend buying an old VCR or junk receiver for $5 or $10 at Goodwill to practice on first.
