    I currently have a 2inch lift on my leaf springs. Would it be wise to install this with the lift?

    You told us the tape measure was for measuring things but didnt tell whot the other tool were for

    Looking at the first load there seems to be weight in the truck, it's squatted showing part of the frame then you add the weight on the fork lift. Then you take the weight out all of it and all the frame is showing. You need to measure the height from ground level the second time before your new install for true measurements

    I put 810kg caravan on navara doesn't move a bit

    • @gerardwilson8177
      @gerardwilson8177 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      810kg is approximately 80kg on the ball. Its not the equivalent of 810 kg in the tub of the ute. 810kg caravan is quite light.

    If you now check the weight on the front wheels it will now be below factory figure because of the see-saw effect of all that weight behind the rear axle. The problem with all these dual cabs is the weight of the load is mostly behind the axle. The only correct answer is to lengthen the chassis in front of the rear spring mount by about 500-600 mm (which is what the manufacturers should do) to get the axle UNDER the load. How many big trucks do you see with the rear axle well forward of the weight?? Doing what this guy did makes the steering very light and dangerous especially in wet weather.

    A very precise and clear instructional video. But I wonder why anyone would bother with a Great Wall. I had one for 9 years until I traded up to a BT50. The Great Wall is only good as an around town ute to take rubbish to the dump or the dogs to the park.

    The US models of this truck recommend a mounting kit, but maybe I don't need it?

    Are longer rear shocks needed with the use of the super springs?

    • @gerardwilson8177
      @gerardwilson8177 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Supersprings are designed to work with the OEM Shock Absorbers and Spring Pack

      An engine isnt nessisary either for the use of the super springs, but it helps when you'd like to drive...😅

    What holds the center of the spring from coming off the bumps top? I would think it could slide off one side or the other eventually.

    • @cazzlecazzle2906
      @cazzlecazzle2906 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The section you cut off the bump stop gives it a flat surface to sit on. It doesnt need to be very large. The pressure the spring pushes it into that part and the shackle pins under the end shackles further aid when the correct preload is applied.

    On a Nissan Navara D40 ?! .. you'd be NUTS to try this .. these frames rust so fast the Titanic has better steel quality !

      In Canada the Nissan Frontier (Navara) and Titan are the same frames, but the titan has different (extended) drivetrain components to make the vehicle slightly wider.
