    Good video, you remind me of myself about 45 years ago when I was monkey wrenching on my 74 CJ5 with a 304 V8. Don't want to sound like I am telling you what to do, but try using a face mask when cutting or grinding with the angle grinder. The disks give off asbestos chain molecules which puncture your lung cells causing camcer. I know the face masks are a pain, but you only have one set of lungs. Sorry to sound like a nag, but you only live once, so take care and make the best of it. Cheers from Canada.

    Old video I know, but wondering if you have any issues with the rear driveshaft/pinion on the 10.5 hitting the gas tank after the stretch, both on the street and during articulation? I've got a set of 2008 F350 axles I'm working on swapping into my 2015 2 door and have heard they play hell with the gas tank.

    The worst part about these axle swap projects nowadays is usually after getting all the BS done you immediately have to spend another 5k for new rims and tires because the bolt pattern is different and most people change to 40’s

    My man thanks for the video im wondering if youve looked into the 8030 long arm brackets? It says they're supposed to work with the stretch brackets but im wondering if its one or the other of if you need both to do both (long arms and stretch 8") 🤔

      2 things I would change I would have got the 05 and up axles and I would have got a drive shaft with a parking break on it because I have to adjust it everyone I bring it to get it inspected

    awesome build! How did you connect the JK e brake to the ford axle? I saw that you used JKU e brake line for the length. I have 2014 JK that I am doing a swap to rn. The e brake is my last step. Any help is appreciated.

    • @keepjeepin969
      @keepjeepin969 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      mike townsend so I had to do some trimming to get the brake cable to go in the sterling e brake location. I adjusted the brake in the rotors.After that I ran the cable to the hand brake connection. And put It back in the oem location. But I added cable nuts and pulled the slack out by hand and tighten the cable nuts and it works, if you want pics add me on instagram or Facebook @mista._jonez

  • @smallpaul1995
    @smallpaul1995 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wouldn’t go higher, I’d chop more of the fender even though it’s armor. Staying as low as possible and creating the clearance for your tires is the best way to get good usable clearance

    Loved watching your build. I also have a 99-04 I am working on putting in my JK. Plan on using the Currie hubs as well. Where did you source your 35 spline outer stub axles shafts from? The only options I’ve found so far are a set from ECGS as well as a set from Yukon. Curious what you used.

      Keep Jeepin thanks for replying, I did find some less expensive aftermarket 35 spline stub shafts I bought. My currie unit bearings are on order. Last piece of my bullied is now finding rotors, did you have a shop re-drill a set of 8x170 rotors for 8x6.5 or did you find an off the shelf set of 8.6.5 rotors? Can you share a part number of you did? Thanks man.

    • @keepjeepin969
      @keepjeepin969 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you running a 14 bolt in the rear? If so I would run a spacer that changes the lug pattern to match the front?, also the 14 bolt is a little narrower then the Dana 60. Why are you wanting to have rotors re drilled? I have the 8x170mm pattern front and rear.

    • @vinnydags
      @vinnydags 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep Jeepin Keep Jeepin really? The Currie unit bearings only come in 5x5.5, 6x5.5, and 8x6.5...at least that’s what the Currie website shows. I ordered the 8x6.5. My rear will be a 14 bolt or a Dana Ultimate 60, both are 8x6.5.

    • @keepjeepin969
      @keepjeepin969 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s odd it gave me the option for that pattern when I ordered them. See if your rotors for the rear axle will fit the front... idk what too tell you on that besides re drilling
