How am I so relaxed
Ethiopian music has that 1930s Hollywood background movie music vibe to it . . . first heard this at that Ethiopian enclave street down in Los Angeles on the east side: talented musicians meandering, enchanting, enthralling . . .
This is so good it's one of the best musical journeys I've ever been on Pure heart and soul and spirit. Um hooked!!!
37:00 !!!
Amazing instrument ❤❤
@20:58 definitely reminds me of a soundtrack from an oldies Asian movie

Hip hop beat makers would rip this up. In a good way.
And they say ethiopian music is not that good, it was way ahead of the game in the past, just like everything in ethiopia. I mean saint yared is Ethiopian for goda sake.
Beautiful stuff ~ Nothing but love from the Midwest U.S.
literally couldn't get rid of it
this does not sound like traditional ethiopian music at all
Time less music
The song at 30:48 minutes reminds me of background music in the Godfather soundtrack music. I will find traxk later and list it.
Bellissima cristallina raffinata musica ❤❤❤ Spirituale come l' Etiopia ❤💛💚

Who are the musicians? The names on the cover?
@@DanielAquarian No, there is another comment on this video with the names of the artists by song
For goodness sake.. why don’t we appreciate this beautiful music more?
Only bloviating here but doesn't always seem that the poorer countries music is underappreciated? (Except for Jamaica, that is).
yesss
i'm just lookin for EKT but this is cool too.
🫀
lovn it
ADOREI!!!
"GETACHEW DEGEFU (1929-1992) Amharic PIANIST, SINGER AND SONG WRITER & MUSIC TEACHER Getachew degefu was born in 1929 in harar town. He went to the Catholic cathedral school where he completed his primary and secondary school education. He usually scored high marks in piano classes which earned him a preference to easily. In his catholic school days Getachew used to sing spiritual songs in various languages. In fact he speaks and writes very well in French ,English and Italian a merit that helped him find a job in the French council based in Dire Dawa. The Haile Sellasie I theatre which was opened in 1956 was looking for a singer who can sing in foreign languages and Getachew was selected and won the job as a lead singer. In 1961 the Hhaile Sellasie I theatre opened a music school affiliated to the theatre and Getachew gave classes in vocal and solfeio. Among his students Dawit Yifru the well known music arranger and keyboard player was one , perhaps a living example of the ability of Getachew as a teacher. In 1971 he moved to the ministry of information radio Ethiopia where he took up several tasks such as sound management and as a band manager for the Somali and Amharic band affiliated to the radio station. He was also music arranger for these bands. In 1980 he was promoted to a rank of music supervisor of radio Ethiopia and did serve well. He became President of the Ethiopian music association and worked hard for the protection of the rights of the artists. In 1980 he was transferred to the ministry of culture and youth affairs as head of the music Section .In 1985 he helped in setting up the modern band of the Hager fikir theatre and worked in managing the band as well as in music arrangement Getachew had some part time work at buffet de Lagare, The Hilton, Wabe Shebele ,concord ,China Restaurant ,San Suci, Axum Hall, Villa Verde night clubs where he played Piano and accordion as well as sang songs in English, French, Italian and Amharic. He won immense acclaim from his fans. He had an unparallel talent in playing piano and had produced several albums and cassette of songs he played on the piano alone. Specially his production of instrumental (piano) music for the exclusive in-flight use cited by the Ethiopian Air lines is cited among his best works. Paxico Records is a L.A. (USA _ CA) based record and art label founded by Chris H{o}und in 2009... Specialized in the publishing of vinyls and cassettes [Yep, Sure Thing...]! Paxico’s mission is to shed light on affecting artists and urgent albums. THEY create works of art with their own mythology and folklore. Every release in THEIR catalog is organized to show the special rapport between its audio and visual components. After, it's hard to find more about them or even the music...
Good to know.

This is very unique, I like it.
Tizita 41:36 is especially spellbinding and rather bizarre. The whole album is kind of "out there". I am impressed.
A little info would have been nice.
