When we received this rifle, it was not capable of being zero’d. The front sight block was installed so crooked that there was not enough adjustment left in the drum to get it sighted in correctly… so we fixed it and then made it better.

I’ve done 4 Galil builds on TorTort receivers, using Troy Ess barrels. I haven’t found it necessary to do anything with the bolt. All the barrels, including a 16 inch unknown maker, have had too tight headspace, which is much better than being too loose. I’ve used shims from .004 to .009 with a 130 ft/lb torque that takes just a bit of pressure to close on a Go Gauge. I doubt long term use is going to change the headspace enough to matter.

That's a nice build, and great shooting. Most shooters don't realize how a custom built AK can be very accurate, with a little attention to detail versus a mass-produced rifle. That the AK is a design incapable of accuracy is a myth.

I have two Galil parts kits to build. Your videos have been a great help, and I truly appreciate all the time and effort you put into making these videos. I’ve heard it said that building a Galil is easy compared to an AK, but from the details you demonstrate I can see it’s not a process without a lot of thought. Keep up the good work.

Little tip for the calipers Once you've measured with the depth gauge, that same measurement is your caliper jaw spacing. Use the jaws to then mark up your hole location rather than trying to lay the depth gauge along the barrel

I counted about FOUR seconds from fire, to impact! Mister, you're skills are truly amazing, but I can do four burpees in four seconds so I'm sure that someone could easily dodge this bullet just as soon as they HEAR the gun crack! What about a 5.56 x 56? I've been all over and can NOT find anything on this "statistically awesome" round (you can launch a 62 grain SC bullet at about 4000 fps!). Thanks.

One useful addition to your assembly is an OLD gun-plumber / mechanic trick: The trigger assembly is a bit fiddly doing it as shown. I made up a short "slave pin", of the same diameter as the "proper" cross-pin, thus, you "pre-assemble" the trigger, sear and spring. This pin should be a bit shorter than the width of the trigger body and have a small bevel on the "leading edge"..You then use the "real" pin to drive the slave pin to the right. You can also add an extra step by having a longer (about 5 or 6 inches) "secondary pin. With one of these, you push the slave pins out to the LEFT and then using this longer "secondary pin" as a control, push in the "real" pin from the left. Just a thought. The "bevel" is to ease the initial assembly of the trigger, spring and sear and initial entry into the hole on the right side. This will save a lot of frustration, especially if you work on a lot of AK / Valmet / Galil jobs. The "bevel" on the short slave pin is also to ease the initial assembly of the trigger, spring and sear and initial entry into the hole on the right side. This will save a lot of frustration, especially if you work on a lot of AK / Valmet / Galil jobs.. Anyone working with the Steyr AUG will find 'slave-pins handy for reassembling the trigger-mech pack on those. Nice clear instructions and footage; thanks!

No wonder my gunsmith looked at me like a complete idiot when he installed it on one of mine. It’s simple, BUT that C clip is elusive af. I swear I put it back in the bag but it wasn’t there when I needed it. Took me 30 mins to find it. Anyone putting this on, do it over a light colored surface. If you drop it , it will disappear into thin air.

Did you ever figure it out? 99% chance it has nothing to do with lubrication or hinge issues. I really struggled with this until a gunsmith showed me in person! It's just a matter of applying pressure to the right area before folding. Last time I checked the videos showing how to fold these stocks don't show the critical part. I may post a video and save some people a huge headache
