Hi, I’m from England, but now live in Oz with my wife and 3 boys. I’ve been maintaining and modifying my own cars since I was 17. I am no mechanic… I fix people, not cars for a living, I just love learning about my cars and making them look a little different from the rest. A lot of my mods have been on a budget with a little family. I wish I’d have started filming the last 10 cars I’ve had over the 30 years... but that’s hindsight. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the content, it’s very amateurish, but I’m getting better lol. Have a great day, weekend wherever you are in the world.
Mazda CX9 TC 2016-2023 rear brake rotor/disc change
So, this week my wife and I changed the rear rotors/discs on the Mazda CX9 as they were warped. We also added some mods to the front with a new bug/stone deflector and splitter which had broken.
We are not mechanics, and we do not advise you do your own brakes unless you know what you're doing! Take your car to a brake specialist or qualified mechanic if so.
We only changed the rotors this time, as we change the pads, front and back the first week we had the car. In hindsight, we should have put new rotors on too, but hay.
Parts needed:
14mm Socket for Sliding caliper
17mm Socket for fixed caliper
21mm Socket for wheel nuts
Torque specs on the brakes are
Fixed caliper 118-130Nm
Floating/Sliding caliper 22-31Nm
Superspares - Slotted & Dimpled Pair Rear Disc Brake Rotors for Mazda CX
9 TC 2.5 L 4/16 $224.95 Australian for the pair

Sending a stock looking MX9 to what my wife and I would think a true MPS model would look like.
มุมมอง 7775 หลายเดือนก่อน
So, seeing as Mazda do not do a true Sports model of the CX9, my wife and I thought we would cosmetically modify her to look so, with our own touches. Please don't hate on the MPS and MotorSpeed, if you do its ok lol. We imagined if there was a true MPS model it would look like this. So, this is like the MPS-Line, like other manufactures badge their models, Line the Audi S-line or the VW R-Line...

My VW Golf mk6 R with modifications

This is my Stage 2 Gold R I've had for 10 years and been playing with with mod since I got it. The wrap has been on for 3 years and showing some wear now... Modifying a VW Mk6 Golf R by adding a VW Scirocco dash centre gauge cluster Part 2

Hi peeps.... If you're going to put any VW centre gauge cluster in your VW be it Caddy, GTi , R etc... make sure when you get the cluster from the doner car that you take the CAN bus too. Mk6 Golf R Scirocco Centre Gauges retro fitment Part 1

I retro fitted a Scirocco Centre dash gauges into my Mk6 Golf R. I had never done this before... it was all trial and error! There was nothing on Google or TH-cam I could find... so it was all just cut and see lol. This is my first ever video, so sorry for the bad quality and terrible editing. Also, I am no mechanic or auto electrician... I am just a bit bonkers s daring lol. Instagram: golfr20t
Also, the Aliexpress link in your video description no longer works. Would you mind finding a new link and letting me know please? I'd really appreciate it.
@@VK5IR I have a look….
@@VK5IR link still works. I live in Australia… maybe it’s not available to deliver where you’re?? However AliExpress is worldwide isn’t it??
@@Paragraphics77Thanks. It's interesting, because I tried the link again and it worked this time... 🤷♂️
Looks great! Has it added much thickness to the steering wheel?
@@VK5IR a tiny bit yeah… which makes it feel better IMO. All high end sports cars have thicker steering wheels.
Sweet graphite trim pieces. Where did you order those from?
@@billfredericks5822 thanks mate… I wrapped them.
Do you do paint and body or vinyl wrap professionally? I love that look and I'm planning on buying a '22 or '23 CX-9 Signature, but I'm planning on blacking everything out, just as you did.
@@TexasHarleyBoy65 I painted the grill and wrapped the rest.. I did it all myself. Check my channel and other vids mate.. they’re all up there
Wow man, that looks INCREDIBLE!

Great video. What was your mileage when you performed this service? Thanks

Differential fluid change is only for AWD models, correct?
@@hungrypersian yes.
Amazing! I'm also wondering if you will release videos on how to add carbon fiber trim to the interior, and how you did the chrome delete on the front grille and that red stripe. Carbon fiber on the steering wheel is something I want to do. Could you give the links where you bought all the interior/exterior stuff
@@Steak134 thanks mate… the carbon on the interior was stick on AliExpress parts.. peel and stick on. As for the front grill, I did a video on that… it was all taken off and apart and sprayed. I’ll find the link.. or just look through my vids.. I don’t have many… have been working away a lot and had no time to get back to it.. so keen too.

Finally a cx 9 mod channel !
Than you 🙌
So it seems like 1 US quart would cover both front and rear. I just did the front today and I have about 1/2 quart left. The rear should take no more than a half quart I’m guessing? Excellent video by the way.
Thank you… That’s right yes. I ended up using a tiny bit more as a had a fair bit left in the pump. If I’d have used a different pump, like a syringe pump, not a full in-out pump system I could have injected it all and there would only be the left over in the short tube.
Hi mate do we also have to change the transmission fluid because they say its lifetime
@@prabhsingh3689 yes mate.. I would recommend changing the ATF too 👍
I can't see how to reach the top rear without dropping the exhaust
@@walkergriggs3965 it’s a pain, I used a spanner in the end.. the short socket wouldn’t fit without a slim wrench too… and I wasn’t buying one of those just for this one bolt.
I need to do this on a 2017. My biggest obstacle is the rear fill plug. I didn't see how you reached it, nor what you used to take it off
Hi, I ended up just using a spanner as the space was too small. It can be done with a slim socket, but you’ll also need a slim ratchet… I got the socket thinking that’ll be enough.. then wasn’t spending extra on a wrench too. So I took it off with a spanner and for the torque, I’d just went off the feeling of when I torqued the bottom plug with my torque wrench, remembered how much it felt. So after I’d filled it up, I just made it as tight as what the bottom felt.
What year?
2016
Hey mate...can you post a link to the accessories that you put on your 9? Like the rear spoiler and the front lip? Thx
Hey mate... sure, I have been meaning to do that. You have just remined me, thanks.
Ok, all the links posted on the Modding video I did. th-cam.com/video/JIGWYC2AyAY/w-d-xo.html
Like he said...crack the fill plug first! ..if you can't break it, lose then you're done... don't drain it.. take it to dealer
Yep, that's right. Last thing you want to do is drain the oil from the diff and find you can't crack the fill plug. Because then is a tow truck to a deal. Or get a mobile mechanic round that can get it off.
Pretty sure I've seen my boy elmo kicking around these parts. Can you please keep an eye out for me
lol… he’s kicking back watching Sesame Street with the Cookie Monster
Great video, loved all the info. But, the part that i need to know is how did you convince the wife to help work on the car? Mine won't have a bar of it. Please help a brother out and share your secrets

Thank you sir… I am trying to edit the video for the grill I’ve done… it’s a long process as I’m just an amateur lol. Having fun with it though. Have a great week 🙌
Gutsy mod! You must have been nervous as before making that first cut into the dash! Nice to see more 6R content out there 👍
Thanks 🙏 tbh I actually wasn’t lol. I’ve had the car 10 years and done lots to it.. the worse that could happen would be a useless set of dials. I was however, nervous when I cut two holes on my bonnet for the vents, when the car was on 2 years old lol. I’ve done loads to this car over the decade… I wish I’d document it all… I’ve even had it wrapped in camo… all by myself and my wife 💪 I’m working on old and new stuff to put up… thank you for the message and subscribing 🙌
