Hi! I'm John. I am INFJ if you are curious. I'm a healthcare professional.
I worked as an EMT in LA, California, on 10, 24, and 48 hours shifts.
I then transitioned over to the Trauma Hospital setting, where I worked as a Hospital Patient Transporter, then Team Lead, and eventually became the Hospital Patient Dispatcher.
After Trauma Hospital, I worked part-time as a Mental Health Worker in the Acute Psychiatric Hospital and part-time as a Behavioral Interventionist.
Then, I went back to school in 2020 and got my Master of Health Administration (MHA). Currently, I'm working in the Healthcare Admin field.
I hope you enjoy my educational videos and maybe get something valuable out of them! I really appreciate it if you could leave me feedback by commenting on my videos. By doing this, I can improve and bring forward new and better content. Thanks!

Why I Failed My Health Goals and Workout Plan | Health Journey June 2024
I failed my health goals and workout plan that I set at the beginning of the year. Honestly, I ended up binging foods and drinks again when I'm tired, exhausted, and sad... especially at night. Now, I need to get back on track and try again. This time is a must not a want.

This was an excellent video. Super helpful as I consider this entry level job. Thank you!
Is dietary aide and dietary assistant different?
it's really depends on the hospital. The tasks are usually similar, but I recommend you do check the job descriptions and duties.
$12-$14 an hour? Man you need to work somewhere else!
current transporter and i do wish they would pay us more for the work we do, its a lot of physical work and mentally draining most times and it just feels like im not appreciated for it sometimes. Not to mention i work at a level 1 hospital and a big one at that
Thanks for the video and explanation I'm interested in doing this kind of work.
New sub here. Great video! Just wanted to point out that some of those duties vary by State to State. And also depends on the facility. In Michigan, at least at most of the hospitals that I worked at as an ER tech if you don’t have a phlebotomy license or you don’t know how to do it, it really doesn’t matter because it is part of the training. They teach you how to do it because it’s literally our job. The nurses in the ER mainly pass meds, and of course everything else that comes with being a nurse. But as far as drawing labs, casting, splinting, inserting IV’s, foleys & Straith Catheters, really everything besides passing meds and doing sutures & staples (tho we assist with them, and we can remove them), is the tech’s job so you will be trained on it.
What types of situations do PCC go through with patients ?
Hi sir i need this job
Hey, A lively video🙌! Just wanted to throw this out there (totally fine if it's not a good fit!), but I'm a video editor and I sometimes help creators improve distribution by making their content a bit more snackable for viewers. Think catchy intros and outros, or even some engaging short clips! Would love to chat if you're interested.
Thank you for the offer, but not at this time.
@@JohnPhamHealth Never mind, actually I felt some things could have improved but kudos to your efforts and If you're ever looking for tips on video editing, storytelling, or keyword optimization, feel free to reach out. I'd love to offer some suggestions
Great video. Short and seemingly accurate. I don't like the videos of people that do Day in the Life videos where they do nothing related to the job. haha
Low pay. Overworked. Long days. Rude staff. Having others work pushed off onto you. If they offer less than $25 an hour don't do it!
It’s not a bad job. I did it for 10 years and got all the overtime I wanted. Unfortunately it’s a very arrogant heirchary and the managers were always harassing me.
Thank you for explaining
I'm thinking of being a patient sitter
Me 2
Nope they give you seven or six patient specially if your an asian nurse. Fucking hospital politics .. that’s why i told my wife you have to report that raised that to the head department… work like an american dont work lang machine asian style.. so they will not taking advantage of you and fuck you around…
Do you get paid weekly?
no, biweekly like most jobs.
I start training as a Mental Health Technician in a few weeks. I am very nervous, but excited. I want to help people.
I start training as Mental Health Technician in a few weeks. I am very nervous.
What is kind of course if we want be come PCC.
experience in scheduling and some knowledge/work history with insurance or at hospital/doctor clinic. Experience with medical records also a plus. Usually, you would want to get an entry level job with admin assistant or clerical job at hospital/clinic/doctor office to gain some experience first before applying for this position.
How long did it take for you to get used to all this?
Very helpful! 😃
I AM CERTIFICATE MEDICO ASIST.NEED JOB FOR MY. PLEACE .TRANKS 🎉GOOD DAY.
Would you be a housekeeper are a dietary aid
No. You will help with food preparation and then bring foods to patient's floor/room during meal hour.
Which would you do working as a line server are dietary aid isn't that the same forget housekeeping I'll do dietary aid if it's paying $14.50
I was a dishwasher at a nursing home she lied to me told me all you have to do is rinse the dishes off it was f hard abd so nasty my back was killing me i quit i need a job but no way in hell will i wash those dishes now as for a line server it was ok
Thanks! Very informative. Thinking on taking the job!
What a great video thank you so much for sharing. Wishing you the best on your health journey
Can you apply at any age of course 18 up wards
Yes, but most hospitals require min. 18
Thank you for making this!
Oh and thanks for the advice on transportation videos and other medical field videos! Those were very helpful and informative to me. I appreciate you taking the time to talk about and explain them.
Sounds like you’re doing great and are making better snacking choices. Maybe consider eating different kinds of fruits if you become tired of eating mangoes and nuts. How about strawberries and seeds like sunflower or pumpkin seeds? Those are also good for you and taste great too. I love eating those as well.
I did, but now I slow down on late night eating fruits and nuts due to high calories. Did you know a handful of cashew is more than 200 calories?
Ok 4 hour to 8 very good
❤
What is the difference between ED and Er tech?
Same, just a different saying. ED = Emergency Dept. vs ER = Emergency Room.
I start a job like this on Monday❤❤Wish me luck!!🎉
Good Luck!
Goodluck because in Alabama it was terrible
Could you please let me know if I have CPR certification and even my education is from healthcare field like I done my BSc nursing from India but I am not getting before getting RN license where I should apply for any job in healthcare field please help me I am in surrey BC in Canada
I don't know about Canada, but in United State or California specifically, you need to pass the nursing board exam here so you can get RN license. Most hospitals and healthcare companies require that RN license if you want to work as a nurse. If you are in Canada, maybe look into doing CNA for entry level job and then transition into nurse. Some will become a CNA and work in the hospital to build their experience while going to school to become a nurse. That is one way, another way is to go to nursing school/program and maybe accelerated program? Good luck.
Thank you for this video! It was very helpful and you seem like such a sincere, respectful and professional mental health worker. Your patients must have been lucky to have you!
As a transporter, do you ever use a hoyer lift?
Is this the same as patient care liaison ? Could you explain what job it is since I am not sure if I’m qualified to apply for it.
Thanks for this video! I am still in the process of choosing my career and this has always interested me, caring for people is very important to me.
Thank you!!!!! I’m going for the job soon
Spot it out dude
You explained what is be expected better than the people who interviewed me .😂
Can 16 year old work asPatient Transporter
Can you let me know how I get into the medical mission you mention on this video?
Keep it up!
are you still a cna, did you not want to be a nurse or doctor?
Hi John, thanks for sharing! What do patient sitters usually wear at work? any brands that offer extra warmth and comfort you recommend?
Usually it's hospital scrub. It's depending on how cold your area. I would just wear a black t-shirt and regular scrub. For some who get cold easily, they would wear a long sleeve shirt under their hospital scrub. Most popular scrub brands will be fine. U don't really wear scrub for warmth. I recommend long sleeve or jacket if ur hospital allows u to wear them.
Wow a coke can almost takes up a whole daily limit of sugar 😮
yup, same thing with boba milk tea 🙁
@@JohnPhamHealth I love boba 😭
Hi there, im applying for the county and it is asking for my California Issued EMT Certification Number, do you know if thats the EMS ID or the Registry Number on my Certification from NREMT? THANK YOU
I've just watched your DEXA scan from 3 years ago. I can see your desparation three years later. May I suggest researching Светлана Стрельникова, she is a medical doctor and a food coach with proven results. She now lives in New Zealand and she speaks English. She doesn't do calorie restriction but rather portion control with a twist. No fasting and you will gain energy.
