I’ve been watching this on and off throughout the day today and I’m only at minute 32:44 and it’s belatedly dawning on me that what I assumed was the GOON squad was not accurate. I assumed they were non-indigenous(likely white) LEOs or employed somewhere with the field of law enforcement…The tribal leader of course I assumed was indigenous. But were all the LEO’s and “GOONS” also indigenous? I suppose it makes sense because I didn’t think that random police officers or law-enforcement or other people could just walk on to reservations and do what they please. I thought there were regulations and federal laws regarding the sovereignty of native reservations….my goodness I didn’t realise there was such a huge divide within the indigenous community where AIM was concerned? So was the shootout that happened between AIM and other indigenous people or majority indigenous people?

I first heard of Leonard Peltier in 1982 and what he stood for. I believe what he is going through is an injustice and definitely deserves to be a free man.

Aren't we all a foul of the system plus the system itself is. And none of us are perfect Only God is we have to pay our dues sometimes that might mean guilty or not guilty but as long as we give glory to the Creator the Lord Jesus Christ and repent from our sins there's nothing that can stop us from spending eternity in heaven

1974? Thats when the federal government staff, as old as they where, kept stealing those north American men's lands and economic $ that was promised and they laugh about it. Then they case the men around baring false witness against them until they are dead, still laughing. Its poor evil. Nothing changed

The forward motion of this started with two federal agents looking for an individual who committed allegedly a minor assault and theft of used cowboy boots?!!! That sounds like a bit of overkill.

Steal land, trespass on the plot you already took from the Natives and then turn it around on the Indian people. That’s the US government for you. Completely unjust. 😡

What a sht show. Sounds like the FBI was in the wrong from the beginning, and they lost some agents because of their unethical and unlawful actions. They got caught with their butts hanging out and got angry and took it out on Leonard and others. Letting corporations run the country is killing all of us.

Indians highly value warriors. Yet they weren't as good as Europeans. Indians revere their medicine men. Yet they couldn't save the Indians from the "white mans disease." Indians have highly valued their Indian wisdom yet they couldn't get along with the white man. Or other tribes. Indians valued their prophecies, yet they couldn't foresee the problems their people would encounter.

Why does the government imprison a man who did no wrong and yet they cant catch the people who bring drugs in across the border a d put them in prison but they also will bust the little guy who was coerced to buy and take drugs...and the former president of this cointry got away with breaking the law numerous times...these government officials in my mind are so racist against ethinic peoples .They cry about global warming when they are the cause with destroying natural flora and fawna with destroying nature and sacred lands that belong originaly to the first people who have occupied all the lands of North and South America for thousands of years.American greed!!

We are supposed to be land of the Free seems but if you are of white skin ...my grandfather who was half Mongolian came to this country in the early 1900 s was not allowed to become a citizen even after he was here over 5 yrs he was recruited from his homeland to come work in the coal mines of Pennsylvania and because he was of mixed race he wasn't even allowed to own a dog...He and family had many restrictions in what they could own and had to live in mining company houses. He was not allowed to buy land or a house of his own.And they call this the land of the free.

Never put trust in government of any kind. They lied and twisted there words to promote there evil power hungry agenda. It will never be the same as what our ancestors once knew. Freedom and peace are long gone, all we have are memories and stories of what once was.
