2024 Triumph Speed 400 - First ride impression (in the wet!) [4K]
In this video we take out the 2024 Triumph Speed 400 as a first ride impression! A bike that was in research and development for 7 years, very much anticipated and has already proven to be flying out of the showrooms!
The bike was loaned to me from Kings Norfolk Triumph (a great bunch!), and I got to spend a couple of hours getting to know the bike - on what started out to be a very wet day! It actually dried out towards the end of my session which gave me the opportunity to stretch the bikes legs a bit!
We go through some of the specs of the Speed 400, but also how the bike made me feel. Being a 398cc single cylinder engine it’s a lot smaller than what I used to - but that didn’t hamper the fun, the bike was oozing fun (it was a little thumper of an engine!) and great looks at the same time! It’s an ideal bike for someone who is just starting out, but also in my opinion for someone who just fancies a smaller bike to whip around the country roads. I could certainly see myself in my later biking years really going for a motorbike similar to this one.

BEST Budget Naked Bike? Street Triple 675 RX - Long Term Review [4K] [Raw sound]
มุมมอง 9213 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video we show how amazing the Limited Edition Triumph Street Triple 675 RX is, and if you are in the market for a used naked motorcycle around the £4-5k mark then this bike should definitely be on your short list! And being the limited edition, it comes with the sharp looking Daytona 675R rear! The handling is pretty much second to none in it's bracket, and the induction noise is guaran...
Abba Stand - Guide to fitting to the Speed Twin

In this short video we demonstrate how to fit the Abba Stand to the Speed Twin 1200 so you can lift the rear wheel off the ground to carry out a range of jobs, plus showing you the tools you will need to take the heel guard and engine coolant cover off the bike. If you are deciding whether to purchase an Abba Stand or not, in my opinion it would be a solid decision. There are attachments you ca...
Puig Custom 2 Windscreen - First impression on my Triumph Speed Twin 1200

Here is a first impression review of the Puig Custom 2 Windscreen fitted on my Triumph Speed Twin 1200. I purchased the Light Smoke option from Pyramid Moto (great customer service!) - pyramidmoto.co.uk/products/puig-custom-2-screen-light-smoke-triumph-speed-twin-1200-2019-current Fitting took me around 1 hour, I generally take longer than the average enthusiast so you might be quicker. Nice one Mike 👍
I've just got a Tiger GT PRO, it's Awesome ❤❤❤
Awesome David! Good man 👍👍👍
@MotoBikerMike I've done 1,100 miles on mine in 7 weeks
@MotoBikerMike The exhaust note is very addictive
@MotoBikerMike just subscribed to your channel really enjoyed this honest review on the Tiger 900
@MotoBikerMike I had a Harley before , and a dry weather rider, until now, my new moto is ride more , clean less now can't wait for The Adventures in 2025
Just wondering, is there room for adjusting the angle and forward/aft a bit? I would actually prefer it a bit more upright if possible if it doesn't buffet the front of the bike at higher speeds.
@@markschmitz8575 yes you can adjust the angle easily, I found making it more upright brought it closer to the bike/towards the rider (if that makes sense)
@MotoBikerMike Thanks. You haven't by chance tried any windscreens with 4 point mounting that work on a Speed Twin 1200 have you? I'm a bit worried about shaking on rough roads. Hanging way out there on 2 mounting arms is a bit stressed for a windscreen. I'm concerned that the Custom II might move after a few bumps.
@ I didn’t I’m afraid. I probably allowed 20mm gap between the screen and headlight, to allow for going over bumps and the screen jumping up and down 👍🏼
@MotoBikerMike Yeah, I figured it would jiggle. I wish these companies would get off of their collective asses and make a decent 4 point system. Boo Hooo... Let's all blame it on COVID!
I have an 08 one and prefer the circular headlights. That sound is so addictive though, no matter the year.
Yes David - it's a glorious noise that never fails to excite me! :-D
Looks very good...doesn't detract from the bike at all. I just wish I'd seen that before I fitted my Puig Plus screen on my T120, which although bigger than the Dart, doesn't really do much at all...... Just done a comparative size check and the Plus is quoted as being taller and wider than the Custom 2! Certainly doesn't look it..........
@@lauriebloggs8391 Thanks for the comment Laurie, I wonder if the angle of the screens might be different. The Plus definitely looks bigger and more equipped to shield against wind buffeting
@@MotoBikerMike Time to get my eyes sorted then! 🙂 I have tried a spoiler on the Plus, but the blade is not wide enough at the top for clamps... 😞
Beautiful machine 😍I own thanks God a street triple 675r and I love it ❤️
@@georgeiftime6615 awesome George! I share that feeling with mine, never fails to make me smile and laugh in my helmet 😝
Horrible attachment method. Someone should make a nice black replacement for the headlight bracket that takes different size screens.
@@jimbrowsing5690 Did you mount a Puig Custom II? Did it shake and bounce with the two point attachment to the bars? Ever did you mount it on? A Speed Twin 1200?
Hi Mark, I did have a little bounce when going over uneven ground. I ensured there was a 2cm gap between the screen and the headlight, this was enough to compensate the movement up and down. Hope that helps :-)
Great video, thinking of getting one for my t100. Thanks for the review. Love the blurring out of the speedo so had to read it in the reflection 😂
@@tonyfrewin4822 haha thanks Tony! Glad the video helped 🙂
Excellent video! I just bought a 2016 street twin 900 and I've been looking for a windscreen for longer rides. I'm stoked to have found your video, which is exactly what I was looking for!
@@scotts133 that’s great to hear, pleased to help! Enjoy that awesome bike, and you should report back to let us know how you get on with your screen 👍🏼
谢谢你的这个视频,我也是凯旋SpeedTwin1200拥有者,我也很喜欢这款车!最近也在寻找一款风挡,你的视频让我找到了最适合的一款,再次感谢,已关注!
I'm glad it helped :-)
Hi I've been driving a Honda CB1000R SC60 for five years. I would like to change to a Triumph. Will the 675r be a good choice? I like it very much, but I'm worried that switching from 1000cc will be boring
@@matimateo6932 I would say you’ll have nothing to worry about switching to 675r. You’re saving around 25kg on weight, so power to weight ratio is similar, but you’ll feel a lot more nimble on the 675r, carving corners a lot easier. And the induction noise over 8k revs will keep a smile on your face that’s for sure! 😁
❤❤@@MotoBikerMike
I notice the changed rear suspension. Can you do a video?
@@user-fv1576 the rear shocks were a game changer with this bike! Yes I will do a walk around video of the parts added and spend some time looking at those lovely YSS shocks 👌🏽
Subscribed. What about buffeting noise levels?
@@user-fv1576 thanks for subscribing! No buffeting noise to report 👍🏼 I’m 5ft 7, 29in inseam, so not overly tall over the bike. If you were taller the screen has adjustment, so could angle it to suit I think
This looks AMAZING ❤
Doesn't seem to be much manufacturing in 'Factory ' Sad they don't make bikes anymore. When they started in the 90s they had one of the most advanced motorcycle manufacturing plants in the world!
There was quite a bit of manufacturing - crank shafts, crank and engine cases, fabrication, painting - well worth a look David :-)
The Hinckley Triumph HQ, known as 'Factory 2', has around 800 employees, 420 of those are in R&D, so all Triumph bikes are designed and engineered there. The Hinckley site also machines crankshafts from raw forgings to fully finished components as well as having a full paint-shop that produces spare parts and custom/prototype items. Manufacturing takes place in advanced factories, (3, 4 and 5) which are located in Thailand. Dependent on the destination market and commercial considerations the bikes are either sent fully built or in kit form and assembled using a local work force as is the case at Hinckley for the Tiger 900 and 1200s.
Is good to hear. Hopefully they will bring more manufacturing back to UK. Have gone back to a air-cooled Bonneville after a disappointing experience with my Street twin. Have had 6 Hinkley made Bikes without any issues.
Love my street triple 675 with arrow
Awesome, a perfect match 👍
It does have a lovely sound to it!
Very addictive! 😁
Love my 2014 Street Triple 675R. I prefer to ride it more than my 2012 Ducati Diavel, which is a great bike in it's own right.
@@Buddha-ci8fz very light and flickable in comparison to your Diavel I’m guessing? The Diavel is a lovely example of a Ducati, I’ve always wanted to ride one 👍🏼
Hi. I drive a Honda CB1000r from 2008, modified motorcycle, ECU flash. After five years, Minsie got bored. I really like the Street triple 675r and rx. What do you think about this change? Will the Triumph be too weak after switching from 1000cc? what appeals most to me is the low weight of the Triumph. thank you for your help
Hi, thanks for your message. I think it's a very worthy option, you'll be going from an inline 4 to the inline 3 - so you'll have to bear that in mind. That said - I think you would love the howl from the triple engine and the raw induction noise. You'll be coming down a few bhp (130bhp to 106bhp) , but also dropping around 30kg in wet weight which might negate that a bit - however, I think you will enjoy taking this lighter bike out and taking on the corners - the power delivery is pretty linear, so no fun lost in the low/mid or higher rev ranges. Hope that helps! Let us know how you get on!
Looked a gorgeous day for it. Bike sounds epic! Was so close to buying a 2016 Daytona 675 instead of the Ninja. You’ll have to show me where these roads are!
Without a doubt! Some good twisties there
What a noise!
@@crashmania4019 couldn’t agree more! Such a lovely soundtrack to ride to 👍🏼

@@rjhaddon11 I’ve got a video coming soon showing how to lift the speed twin in the air with the Abba stand plus a look at the new Beeline Moto 2 👍🏼 I’ve not tried the windscreen deflector (yet!) 🙂
I like the screen personally. It doesn’t detract from the look of the bike. Looks like a good fit and a great choice!
