That Australian accent
So good ❤
I 've just discovered your podcast. And its so inspirational! I watched love on the spectrum, what an amazing guy! My son is 6 and non speaking. Its an amazing opportunity to hear from an adults perspective ❤
We could actually do these things. Our body was made to do it. The problem comes when we're told we have to lay on our back and other outmoded things.
The body feels the trauma... even with meds. Post-partum depression is worse with no pain... because the body doesn’t have the coordination with the brain.
Such a wonderful conversation - thank you for sharing with such honesty.
key being that BOTH do that, or it crumbles
As an American, from Appalachia, I want to go on record as saying that Fern's accent is the most natural sounding one of you lot.
that's absolutely beautiful mate. glad to hear he lived a very happy life, as unfortunate as it is that he isn't still with us. bless you for still keeping him alive in your thoughts.
I take no accountability no fault i am a victim
It’s a Brave New World
The best way to deal with autistic melts downs. Is to just take deep breaths and keep a dignified silence in public. Because people will either think we are rude and can be hostile and violent. Or people might enjoy making a fool out of people by acting all fake and holier than thou and enjoy talking to people like a child and will be laughing at people. I have learned it's best to have a tough attitude. And realise life isn't always going our way. Understand that people are too interested in themselves and will just say and do what suits them. And want to gain something. Staying in what's ordinary. I noticed everything I said or did something out the ordinary people would embarrass me. Because it is stupid to do things out of the ordinary.
Just discovered this Dr. Emily series today, and I can’t stop watching. love it!
Shes a manipulative narc. She doesn't have autism and never received a diagnosis. Notice how she wouldn't answer his question? She dodged it entirely.
This is great
I'm so glad I found this channel amidst the overwhelming abundance of TH-cam!

I’m in love with this open conversation amongst men, very interesting!! Birth can be so traumatic (from my experience) but being on drugs and not remembering a lot never crossed my mind for the partners pov. Brilliant insight!
Just WOW what an amazing human being ❤️
Super scary to do a big comment! But I've got spicy thoughts! I've adored Fern's comedy and personality for years, usually while playing with a fidget toy and wearing noise-cancelling headphones while sitting in the lowest light possible... Yet it took until the age of 37 to figure out I've been a very confused wee autistic fella this whole time and I barely had an idea about it (other than that I was different and suffering from the stress, confusion, and dissociation (lots of this 😢). I knew on some animal level that I needed to protect myself from these mysterious and ultimately unknowable strangers by learning their curious ways... Keep them happy to stay safe and buy some time to think and figure out why it's so tough. This fear caused me to work so much harder. Some of the slow realisation was just because I was being dense, but more has been because of the dearth of good representation and understanding. The way autism is presented and depicted in mainstream culture is usually totally unmasked and played for laughs, with little compassion for the autistic pers-butt of the joke. Who could see this kind of representation and open themselves easily to the idea that they have a lot in common with these autistic stereotypes? There's so much nuance I needed to chew to get to my epiphany. Thank you Fern for being part of the puzzle that let me figure out myself and not feel depressed for the first time in my adult life! Everything you say hits the right notes! The low light was such a gorgeous touch!
So good!! All of you ❤
Been struggling . . . badly. thank you for affirming what I believed was so.
Hey guys, I just wanted to say how much i love what you guys are doing. I get so much from the shows you guys do. Great work!
What an inspirational, strong courageous young woman she is. I am truly sorry you went through this heinous period of your life at such a young age. My daughter experienced online grooming at aged 12 and that's impacted her greatly but I cannot imagine what you endured.
Love this! So excited to get the book. Beautiful reflections thanks for sharing ❤

Grab the book - it changes everything 💓looking for the light in life Just a friendly reminder it’s our life to live
Thank you. I loved this episode so much. I would love to hear more from Emma!
You’re welcome! We are big fans of her too.
I need that medicine
It always frustrates me when people try to overshadow disability, disorder, or differences with generalizations. "All lives matter", "Disability is ability" etc. When someone is drowning, you don't yell at the beach "help! The world needs help!" Generalizations help no one. Focus on who needs help. "You help someone, you help everyone"
Ohh geez. Taxpayers pay for this shit. Scared of your own shadow. Pathetic overpaid public servants, certainly wouldn't last a week on commercial tv.
This was such an amazing interview that I cant believe it doesnt have more views
This episode has meant so much to me. Fern talks about my experience and feelings in a way that is near impossible for me to actually articulate, even to rhe people most important to me.
So important for dads to speak about this stuff, there’s a lot of focus (rightly!) on the health of mums and babies, but I felt very un-seen with my experience with my first born which sounds VERY similar to Jack’s. Thanks for the story ❤
Just to clarify, the part where we’re told your heart will burst with love, and then it doesn’t, was horrendous to me. I felt like a demon or like something was wrong with me because I wasn’t feeling what I should have been feeling, but just nodded my head and went along with everything because there’s too much to do.
Please have Emma back this year. She’s a wonderfully skilled educator. Thanks
44 yeqr old woman here. Ive always had people joke that im adhd. Ive typically dismissed it. But after this podcast i have never felt more seen or understood.
Even when he’s being serious, I can’t tell if he’s serious
as someone working with ADHD this tab has been opened for a week. I tried to watch it again but can't get through the first 10 mins.
Thank you so so so much for posting this - incredible!!!
