fun is an equation of grip and power u can reduce grip to increase fun or increase power reduce grip always run ling longs on track and pirellis to the sunday market guys
Unfortunately no fwd car can do that 😢😢😢 it has to be rwd every time! But I ve heard that boxer engines are much more hard to work on if service is needed 😢
I've driven this car multiple times on and off track. It's a literally street legal go-kart. So much fun, but it just feels unfinished..... It needs more power and a better interior. Without that, it's a perfect car for teens who love Anime and a bit out of place for those older than 25.
I'm glad that Toyota through this, and the GR86, allowed the working class one last chance to enjoy an aspirational rear wheel drive petrol coupé. Many other brands from Ford, to Vauxhall abandoned it decades ago and soon they will be completely consigned to history.
Ikr, Why would you want the car that you can feel every motion of to be stuck to the road? That lack of extreme grip means you can be on the edge - where the car is fantastic - pretty much whenever you want to be. People begging for a bunch more power or grip should just consider a different car tbh because those modifications in my eyes ruin this car. It wants to wiggle about and be revved to 7.5k and making it so doing those things require you to be going dangerously fast ruins it for you and the poor bloke you're inevitably going to crash into.
Not really, it was developed by BOTH Toyota and Subaru. The only one that's slightly "fake" is the Scion FR-S that we get here in the states. Since Scion had nothing to do with the development of the car, but is of course basically a Toyota.
Clarkson's hyperbole never ceases. Ages must not be a long time in Clarkson time because I remember him saying the best car he'd driven since the original Golf GTI was the BMW 1M. And that was in Series 18.
Biggest thing which people still miss is economy tires, easily the most important part of the recipe
2012 white on white, full decat sport exhaust with AVO fensport turbo 😎 15mm drop & 15 mm wide side front and rear splits and absolutely love her ❤
that's Need for Speed: Most Wanted video editing lol
Red stay strong watch them
All wheel drive
Ac cobra
Jeremy Clarkson MF GHOST Cameo!??!!!!?!?!

I bought a 2023 BRZ liked it more than the 86
Bought Season 19 just for this episode.
I'll take a Nissan Skyline over the 86 anyday of the week.
Wow. I forgot this car was that old that Jeremy Clarkson reviewed it on Top Gear.

100 hp per liter is ok and all. But I like 1 torques per 1 cubic inch much more.
Because then you'd have to standartise the rpm, or have cheaters.
Hi Jeremy to answer your question Toyota was thinking about some mountins and Tofu 😮

Go everywhere at the legal speed limit, sideways.
Mf ghost fans stand up
Looks like it handles like a shopping trolley. Fun in a drift track; frightening on a real life urban or B road.
Skill issue
Nah. Theyre fine. Nephew had o e. If youre NOT an idiot theyre fine.
Honestly like 180hp put of a na 2.0 liter is pretty crazy imo
honda s2000 did 250. toyota is crap at engines
@@muieolteni6373 the Honda was astronomically more expensive than this Toyota 🙄
@@Simone-Bucn you get what you pay for
can't believe this car came out more than 11 years ago
I can't believe that original Top Gear was still around when this car came out.
We old bro. We were there.
Toyota make fantastic cars, badge snobbery is missing out
He gets it
i just got an frs i love this car so much
Congrats
Congrats! the FT86 platform is truly one of the best!
Why the blurred out windshield at 1:57?
stunt driver for 2nd unit shots
Which episode is it from?
(Series 19, Episode 3)
Love my Orange Edition....amazing car ❤
2023 and I need this. Still prefer looks of this over gr86
thank you. I thought I was the only one. but the GR86 deserves respect as well. It competes against the ND miata still
@shahir1395 this aged well. I just bought one couple months ago. And yes of course
@@90Kennydo you like the car?
@Kramer2727 I love it! 2016 with 70,000 miles, manual. Hopefully it'll last long and is a reliable sports car.
Now that car would be expensive thanks to it's popularity in MF Ghost.
Jeremy would beat Kanata.
The epitome of fun, not fast. It's like a Miata for guys who like to vape. Or a "sports car" for lesbians. It's brilliant.
I’m gonna fit Citroen 2CV tyres on mine got even more fun!
People who have hated this platform for its lifetime clearly don't know how to drive cars and want the car to drive for them.
They upgraded the tires on the 2017 and up models which made it hard to get sideways, I will be getting cheap tires next
Im glad cuz i own one 🔥
Idiots: *put on fat wheels and sticky tires* Me: Were you paying any attention at all, you blithering halfwits?

I'm suprised Jeremy didn't complain that the cabin is seriously tight for someone his size... But still, GT-86 ftw :))))))
you think that's much? in netherlands it costs €40000. thats 32500 pound!!!!
poor UK. 25 thousand pounds?
The 86 gts is so jizz worthy

You mean like how he was bashing a Hilux in the Arctic Special, indestructible truck, and amphibious cars episodes?
So it's a Subaru with a Toyota badge
And then, right when you thought everything was ok, he goes to bash a rebadged Soarer.
If I had an 86 i would buy the grippiest front tires and leave the rear ones eco.

so good to see another fun car on the market that is affordable
