Hi there, year 1 Genshin player here: you can absolutely clear the game with characters you get for free! My main is Noelle, who can solo-clear 90% of all game content if you invest in her with completely f2p gear. The Spiral Abyss (Endgame content, think of it like running a raid every month) requires you to have meta-tier characters most of the time, but it's not what makes the game great. Do they weaponize fomo? Absolutely. If you have restraint, it's a ton of fun, and you can play as optimally as you want with very little consequences. Do I recommend playing? Probably not, it's a HUGE time investment with at least another 2.5+ years worth of content before the main story (as we know it) is released. TL;DR - this was a fun reaction and I really enjoy your chill outlook on a game I enjoy that you don't want to play!

MeatCanyon and Wendigoon have a podcast on youtube called Creep Cast, they read horror stories or watch youtube horror series and break them down, chew them over. It's a fun listen if you're playing game or cleaning or something, not really reaction content type stuff, but still fun.

You should do the Q&A of this episode, it's on the second channel incognito mode. It's longer but covers a lot more info, corrects some mistakes IH made and goes over a lot of the BS and gives a lot more info on how the ship sinking affected the area (which was both good and bad). Also if you want to watch some funny as Internet Historian I recommend looking up Main Channel: Going Camping at the End of the World and Incognito mode the Sonic High School Fanfic Reading (he gets an all TH-cam star cast to play the voices. Oh and the Swedish Job is also good, I an't remember what channel that's on, but also has all star cast of TH-cam voice actors.

Fun fact: historian revealed in a Q+A that he actually managed to track down Jacob "Rusli" Bin, but chose not to include it or images of him in the video on account of the whole international fugitive thing.

Theree is another video from a guy who works in nautical (mostly on rescue boat) and he debunked the "mysteriously going from head of security to captain. So short version is, he did all the accreditation and training and so on to be a captain, HOWEVER anyone can do that stuff, the issue then is finding a ship to be captain of, basically there are a ton of chefs, not enough kitchens for them all. What happens is they stay inside the industry in another role and hopefully a captaincy opens up for them, which it did. So yeah internet Historian sadly dropped the ball on that part, though he did get a LOT of stuff really accurate. The issue is there isn't really a lot of info out there on this stuff, it's more something your told/know from the industry. For instance I worked ina milk factory, there are things I could tell you that is not online, you can find information on milk, find information on milk production and on factories, but to know what it's like to work in a milk factory sorta requires you to go there. for instance you know hair nets, did you know there are also beard nets... also since it's cold in the fridge (0-4 degrees celcius) you need to wear gloves, so they supply disposable woolen gloves. I know tiny details but still it's that sorta stuff that is easy to get wrong. The issue is compounded when people start trying to demonise the captain, yes, he was a pos, but making ship up is just BS and a LOT of BS was made up, liek the guy claiming the captain left the bridge during the disaster to go get food, it's absolute tosh, never happened, so yeah media is gonna notice he went from security to captain, not understand it's 100% normal and instead make up how it's EVALTS!!!
