I very much appreciate your informative posting. I have recently acquired a Tandberg 12 series, like the one shown, which runs but without sound. The belt is slipping and will need to be replaced. I am hoping you may be able to advise on a source for belt replacement, and also shed light on why the internal speakers do not work. My late father owned a Tandberg 12 in the sixties and recorded family conversations which I would like to digitise, so I am endeavouring to get this working. Hoping you can help and thanks in advance

Besides the 44pin ide cf Card adapters there are 40pin IDE adapters with molex power Socket available as well which should Work with your zappo. Since you have an internal memory Expansion of 8 MB built in, the a600 will Not ready anything from the pcmcia Port since they upper 4mb of your RAM Expansion use the Same adress space AS your pcmcia Port . You need to disable at least the upper 4 MB of your fastram to geht Things going....

Happy New Year Tommy! Thanks for another good video. I was out of personal computing during the Amiga and Atari ST timeframe and I've considered picking up an Amiga to experience the hardware. A 600 seems like a good option compared to the price of the later AGA machines and the extreme size of the A500. I'll have to keep my eye out for one.

(26:28) For future works, I recommend that you try replacing that tape with one or more layers of aluminium foil. In theory, one or more layers of aluminium will reflect and dissipate heat much better, and will better protect plastics, components and PCB areas that you don't want to damage. 👋

Just picked up on of these systems. Works great EXCEPT i have to manually re-install the boot keys. I think the battery on the motherboard might be bad. Might be good idea while upgrading the drive(s) to also replace the battery (That's what I plan to do). :) Thanks for the video.

Great video! I need to replace my XEG dead ROM with an EPROM. I have a 64KB EPROM. Could it work? Or I need to have a 32KB one?

This board is very confusing due to lack of instruction sheet- and the choice of S-video vs Composite... composite looks easy, witht he 100(p?)F cap between chroma nd luma, but the bodge wuire and which components to cut, and traces to cut are *not* clear. Does anyone have a simple schematic /github link?

bought one from a K Mart employee when they came out, think i paid 50$ or so. compuserve was somewhere around 5$ an hour. dial up, good old cassette drive and magazines with programs that you typed out to copy. had a 64 and a 128 before building an IBM compatible

I never had such a computer so very nice to see you make it work again. MSX could have been the standard to rule the world - but then came other computers and eventually PC. ;) You are the expert. This power board was a really nasty one. Many thanks for excellent entertainment one more time.

I'd advise to replace the 7805 with a switching module. Also add cooling to the ULA and perhaps the Z80 too. Remove the whole video module and replace the innards with a zxvid module for very nice picture (solves also backporch problem). Always replace the keyboard, these are almost all bad or will be soon (heat and age is the problem). While am at it I'm upgrading the onboard RAM too.

You might get with Noel Llopis (Noel's Retro Lab). He's something of an expert on SpectraVideo equipment. His video on the SVI-728 is at: th-cam.com/video/Klk_lX5AuYg/w-d-xo.html When there are large cracks that may not seal or mate properly, baking soda sprinkled over the CA glue can accelerate curing. You might experiment with it on non-critical PCBs first, just to get a feel for how it works .
