music for your inbox: toshi ichiyanagi's music for electric metronome (trailer)
มุมมอง 1212 ปีที่แล้ว
www.musicforyourinbox.com/ Toshi Ichiyanagi’s 1960’s Fluxus graphic score combines structure and freedom by incorporating metronomes-symbols of repetition and rigidity-with sounds, gestures, and musical pathways chosen by the performer. Richard An's sound film interpretation recasts this piece in the familiar format of a TH-cam unboxing video. Richard uses gestures that have been repeated so wi...

Was back on a clipping. kick a couple days ago trying to get thru a shift at work, good timing lol this is sick
This blew my mind wow so good!!!
I wish the tabla was my booty, just getting smacked like that making me salivate ova here.🥵
This shit goes so hard
I did it in one day and I am not even a fan
THANK YOUUUUUUUUU
how’s your ram rau doing?
completely dead 💔
ive returned to this cover cause its so good
WRONG! It's an Eb, followed by a D, and then it's another D followed by a Db before the final note, C. This is a basic traditional melody that's been done thousands of times prior, going quite a ways back. Next.
i'm so confused, is this a joke?? it's autotuned literally to PRECISELY 5ed3\12
ok! that's not what i hear! and be less of a prick about it :)
Why is this such a big deal?
She's splitting a minor 3rd into 4 which is smaller than an semitone
It's not.
@@Ruigi01 No.
Breaking the convention of the 12 notes we're so accustomed to. Common in jazz, not so much in pop music.
@@thebeardedjohn Definitely not in *this* pop music.
I literally don't get it
That's 4/4 not 4/6
the "4/6" would say otherwise
@@RichardAn yeah, it does say otherwise. Though I don't care, since it's completely wrong
@@Whatismusic123 LMAO
This is exactly what my high ass needed. Thank you.
I'm going to be doing some recording with this guy. I play a strip of rubber, conceptualized by my friend Stan Wood, of Oregon. Here's a clip of me and artist Ken Butler Jamming on it: th-cam.com/video/7wlhX9t5bQY/w-d-xo.html
Indian classical music makes extensive use of microtones, known as 'shruti'. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shruti_(music)
What's interesting is that it begins to sound like a bowed string instrument, like a violin. I suppose that has something to do with the resonant frequencies of the bowstring interacting with the vibration of the string. Very cool!
This channel is way too short
Old continue this series with more unknown music genres
Finally someone talking about this
Wtf 800 views. Thanks algoritms. Deep utube.

love this video
fantastic !! glad to hear these finally!

Teak probably their slang referencing teakwood, a type of wood. based on the surrounding lyrics.
Very cool, enjoyd my stay
thank you for this Richard. The reason not to have a cautionary tuplet bracket for bars of nonstandard metric denominations is: what if you need to indicate a tuplet within that bar? Then it’s like “the boy who cried tuplet”
what kinda monster writes tuplets within these bars? (me I’m the monster)
Kory Reeder is a really excellent one, too. His Old Songs: Piano Preludes and also Codex Vivere are great stuff.
Cool
Do you have an instrumental version of everything you made? I want to do a cover and use my voice over the instrumental! It’s amazing and so cinematic, I love how you have enhanced this song.
Amazing video, thanks for sharing, so instructional and entertaining.
Where did this come from 😭😂
Only Orville could take this song and make it country yeehaw.
so beautiful!!!
This video is soooooooo GOOD
i haven't seen very many ways to access these piano pieces of hers so to discover this is so great - after a few minutes i wondered of what state or feeling i was in. i wouldn't say i was at peace. i wouldn't say i was uneasy. but whatever it was, thank you for your playing. this is surely a study with no bells nor whistles asking for your attention, almost demanding you pay attention to yourself instead. at least for me
Spot on!!
low and slow baby
I was looking all over for a transcription of this and stumbled on your video, thank you so much! Just a suggestion, for a live musician it may be easier to read as 4 bars of 5/8 followed by two bars of 6/8 instead of trying to fit it all in 4/4
Thanks for the transcribing my new videos are here now even whistle voice.

Oh my god I forgot about this. It's the time signatures for me. Such attention to detail.
tbh it was the thing that interested me most about his performance
