i did everything, my ps4 is recognised on my laptop just not in steam games. i don’t know what to do? every game i’ve played it doesn’t recognise the controller but on my laptop and even in steam (settings and menu) it works fine…
@@miaaakoo have you tried turning on the ps controller support? Its on the controller settings
You can also try opening the game then pressing the ps button to bring up overlay. Then enable steam input
@@Nergicuga yes its set on ‘enabled’ in controller support but it still shows ‘unknown controller support’ in every game 😓
@@Nergicuga just opened up those settings in game and steam input is already enabled, i opened the game up in big screen and the opening showed ‘this game will use this layout’ and it was the exact same controller as my ps4 but it still doesn’t work in game.
When I use steam when I aim down site my left stick move up and down left and right when my right stick suppose to do that do any body know how to fix that
@@keeynangrant6682 try unplugging ang plugging your controller again. If it doesnt work you can remap it on steam. Just click on steam>controller settings.

@@returndeen sup bro. Try opening it in big picture mode then press the ps button while in game to bring up the overlay. Then on the controller settings enable steam input. If it was already enabled, disable it then enable it again. Sometimes its like that. If youre playing it outside steam then just add the game on steam as a non steam game then do the same procedure.

thank you, it finally solved my problem, i tried flushing dns, resetting internet connection, switching to ipv4 from ipv6, setting dns settings manually etc. but it didnt help, you are my saviour

lol thanks I was getting mad bc it only worked on some games, had to start via big picture feature...
For people like me that none of the many youtube videos was not working - check your anit-virus settings:) And uncheck "antivirus firewall" or "dam".
What I tried: VPN,MTU,DNS change, DNS flush, reinstall, install old version, firewall off, ipv6 setting, opening ports, driver updates, hotspots, task priority and many more What worked: YOUR SOLUTION Thank you

brilliant video but my problem is that for me to play farcry 4 i need to run it in administrator...but hen i do that he controtller oesnt work in game...but it works if i dont run farcry 4 in administrator....someone help
If you have steam go to steam then add non steam game to your library then add farcry. Make it in big picture mode then disconnect your keyboard and mouse plug in your controller then launch farcry using the big picture mode. Once the controller is working in-game connect your mouse and keyboard it shouldnt be a problem anytime you launch it. Ubisoft really needs to fix controller compatibility man.
Also make sure controller configuration is enabled on steam.
Hey man I know its kinda late but I had the same issue and solved it. Apparently both the launcher (steam,ubisoft etc) and the game you are playing should be the same. If you need to play a game in admin you can just grant administrator access to the launcher too!
Tried this. It worked the app opened. But when I tried opening a game it errored and went straight back to the same problem.
Thats weird. Did you try restarting first before opening ubisoft?

Hey sorry for the late reply. You can go to steam then add non-steam game then put it in big picture mode. Disconnect you keyboard and mouse plug in your controller.. Make sure controller configuration is enabled. Then launch the game in steam. Once you confirmed the controller is working in game plug in your mouse and keyboard. It should be working everytime you open the game. Just open it on steam.
Hello friend, the last step where you copied the HOSTS file is not visible in the folder where you copied it.

@@Nergicuga hey i went on ubisoft server down detector web and it says they are down for certain people so i believe its a ubisoft problem thankfully.

No need to throw a tantrum over this bud. This is only one of the fixes that might work but still depends. "easy" doesnt mean guaranteed. The process is easy. If youre so much better then go fix it yourself cheers mate.

If it starts with 000 thats not it. It should start with "Port". If nothing was showing up try to unplug the controller and check which was added to the list and that should be the controller.

Hey man whats up what i can suggest is to remap your controls on steam. Instead of using the remap on steam settings use the one on the game itself so that it will only be used on that game. You can find that on the game dashboard on steam. Open the game take note of which button is which. Then remap it.

OBS: Guys the ''hosts'' file, first copy it and paste it to another place like PC or wherever you like, and then go back to where u found the ''hosts'' file originnally then delete it. It worked for me. AND ALSO donwload the ''ubisoft connect'' !! and log in from there after when u are done with these
