By the time you cast the net you could’ve made your own pole, strung it, baited it, caught a fish, cooked it, ate it, and damn near shat it out

I used to throw those big nets. I threw them like all the others. Basically throwing it like a frisbee

but HOW does the net closes up??? i never understood how that net worked! HOW is it that when you pull the net up it is sealed on the bottom acting as a bag?

I saw my dad & ppl here doing that differntly, and they could throw to longer distance, unlike your method. You were still holding part of the lead, causing limited throw distance.

PS we never put a slipknot around your wrist in case something big gets in. It takes off. You do not want to be attached to it.

I don't know how many times I've been in a boat when I was little with my father and my rod would tap the side of the boat and my dad would slap the s*** out of me and you'd say you're scaring the fish, same goes for when walking around a pond. We'd have to walk slow,no noise. If my dad had been fishing behind this guy. Letting those weights drag on that dock.That guy would have been in the water😂😂😂😂

Why not just use rocks?

The bit of straight lenght, the body sway... that technique is pretty universal.. People roll the entire net and rope so it doesn't get tangled or catch on anything during a good throw but otherwise there's no wrong way as long as it catches fish

I’m gonna save this video, just so I can try it the next time I’m tossing any net over 8’. I almost guarantee that my results, and these results, will be two totally different results. At least for the first, I dunno, 4 times that I try it. By the time I get the hang of it, I’m gonna be exhausted. As is usually the case, given I only ever throw a big net in very deep water, and that means it’s a double weighted net, on top of being a big net, and pulling the thing back up is a massive pain in the lower back. Certainly when you gatta start over 4 times before you actually get a pancake and let the thing sink down for the first time. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤣
