"Why are you so fascinated by the macabre?"
มุมมอง 1.5K11 ปีที่แล้ว
A very tired Count covers the topic of death and the macabre as a prelude to the next new video.
Re: Goth Community on YouTube

Seems the vouge thing to do now is post a reply to SarahDarleens video :) So I thought I'd add to the conversation and hopefully help to expand upon the Goth scene within TH-cam. So here's my two cents on the subject of the TH-cam Goth community. Original video: th-cam.com/video/4UF-fKeJpp8/w-d-xo.html
An Introduction
มุมมอง 1.6K11 ปีที่แล้ว
This is the first in a series of videos I plan to make covering various topics of controversy that affect the Goth subculture. This video serves to introduce myself, explain who I am, and cover all that boring crap nobody really cares about. Starts off a bit awkward, I'm not quite used to the idea of talking to myself on camera. As promised, here is a link to The Requiem Podcast: www.therequiem...
Goth Wedding Clip

TH-cam wouldn't allow me to post my actual wedding video (You can watch it on facebook here: photo.php?v=4777377365274 ) So I've posted this snipet for fun. (Yes that is the famous Ashton Nyte, Rose Mortem and Skot Shaw in the background)

I appologize for the poor video quality, it was filmed on my dad's ancient camera. You can view the wedding photos here: media/set/?set=a.4555325334112.166680.1620828297&type=3 All songs are listed at the end of the video, if you like the music, support the artist and buy their stuff! The wedding took place on 11/09/12

hi there! i want to thank you for your continued support. i now have an email list to consolodate the information i share on many different social medias into one weekly post. that way everyone can see what i write at once. would you be interested in joining my email list?
I see the appreciation of gnarly sights as an empathy test. It teaches me to separate, the outside look of a person from the deeper emotional and insider look. Dead bodies make me feel incredibly sorrowful. I also have a conceptual philosophical idea of partners sharing their blood literally. I think it's such a deep way to connect with someone. To me it's proof that the person is ready to live with me unconditionally. I am absolutely fascinated by this concept. I don't know if anyone else ever hypothesised it.
👌♠️
Sorry are you still up and running after 8-years forgive me I'm an elder goth I'm 61 years old I look after baby pets

Great background music Arcana haven't listen to them for ages. Was on goths paradise complitation.
I’m a Goth and I like ethereal wave, I love horror, my favorite type of horror is dark fantasy which is a sub genre of fantasy which combines horror or gothic elements with fantasy elements which I know is part of the subculture. I love being Goth because I am fascinated with the macabre and I love witches. My favorite fairy tale is Hansel and Gretel.
Beautiful wedding, congratulations! And I love the music choice.
First thing i bought at start of covid19... a leather pest doctor mask for the parcel shelf of my car... macabre... yeees... but I am what I am, and I like the macabre.... and what else are the modern masks today, than a newer, sometime not even better version, of this pandemic utility. Its a very macabre time... the stories of the old pandemic periodes have come true... thank god, that we live in this modern times, maybe in the right country and/ore with the right people, so that we have much better chance to go through it very well. But its still interesting thinking about it... what if the macabre come true... like in this times.... its not the same than before?! Aaand at last... now nearly whole society cant look and flee away from it. What do you think about in this context?
Do you have a Instagram? I think you’re cute af

I love weddings. It's so nice to watch how others marry. Your wife is beautiful. Congratulations to you both. Cheers
I'm in awe. Your descriptions touched me deeply. You hit the nail on the head (pardon the pun) LOL. Listening to you is music to my ears. Sometimes I find myself wishing non-Goths would understand and get it.
Beautiful wedding. :) I am married but no wedding yet. We are waiting to do something. The location you have is gorgeous and I am glad you both had a great time and all your guests. Nice selection of music as well. I wish you both all the happiness.

Very interesting video
Beautiful wedding by the way.
I see Mama Goth Donna dancing at your receotion. i am very good friends with Donna Sheehy. And I recognized Asher deejaying as well. Small world. Congratulations.
Edward scissor hands wasn't invited..
I wouldn't necessarily consider myself goth, and I certainly don't dress the part, but I do share many interests with those within the goth culture. I've always wondered why I have a natural propensity towards much darker forms of music or art. I consume massive doses of black metal and death metal on a daily basis, I am fascinated by the occult and read about it frequently, I am a horror junkie and my phone is riddled with pictures I've taken of roadkill and dismembered animals (that were killed humanely). In my attempt to explain my unorthodox fascinations I came to the conclusion that I might be something of an emotional masochist since I revel in the feelings of terror, sadness, melancholy and existential dread that are invoked when indulging in such dark aesthetics. But when looking into it further I concluded that my dark fascinations may be much healthier than I thought - they could be derived from a subconscious desire to obtain cathartic experiences in order to purge myself of repressed emotions. That could be one of many psychological explanations for a pursuing interest in the macabre. But I also feel that it has much deeper, more philosophical implications, and that is something I still brood over.
I really appretiated this video! I also watched the one about goth lifestyle and I answer to them both here. First of all, I want to congratulate for your kind and respectful way of exposing your arguments! If everyone were like this, our world would be a better place! Now to the actual answer: I'm not goth, nor "alternative" in any way, but I happen to be fascinated by the existence of theese different alternative subcultures. I don't personally shere your point of view, expecially about the macabre aspect (wich actually repells me, I fear it all), but I see your point, I deeply enjoied listening to your opinion and now I can understand much better how all this goth "thing" is actually a lifestyle. It's not just a matter of tastes, but a way of watching life and facing emotions. Never before I've ever found someone so accurate as you in theese explanations: the other videos I found online are just about the "we are not satanists" thing, wich is ok, of course, but doesn't really focus on what goth IS. So thankyou, really thankyou for theese two videos! Ps. Sorry for any grammatical mistake, English is not my mothertongue.
Very beautiful you guys.. im too having a gothic theme wedding on Halloween of this year i cant wait to share it.
Hey. Started listening to your podcast a couple weeks ago. Just listened to the mother's day one and decided to check out the video. Super jealous. I sadly couldn't get away with a gothy wedding (though I snuck it in where I could) we did get away with a lot of geek/gamer things I think you might dig. Maybe I'll share it. I am planning on writing an email to your show. I have so much to say though it might be far too long haha.
Your wedding was absolutely wonderful, it brought tears to my eyes I'm getting in 3 years. It is a long time away but I'm nervous as it is.. I want a gothic wedding but my fiances family is christian and not many of them have met me. His mother is the main person who I have spoken to but shes only caught me without makeup.. I'm a little worried what they'll think when they see my dress and makeup or even see me for the first time as I walk out of the airport to live with my husband-to-be.. All in all though your wedding was beautiful.
NightmareTurtorials6 Yea my parents are also conservative Christians. Thankfully I have a good relationship with them, since we only paid for part of our wedding we had to make compromises but we were largely able to do what we wanted. Thank you for the compliments!
Its no problem.
NightmareTurtorials6 if you had your wedding already I hope it was beautiful and just the way you wanted it I also hope you aren’t afraid to show your true self! 🖤
beautiful!!!!!!
beautiful wedding <3
What a beautiful wedding!
Love your outfit! And I look forward to the podcast :)
symbol on the envelope i believe is the mages guild symbol in the game. This collection is beautiful! Mine came damaged though...hopefully Bethesda comes through for me and replaces the damaged part
Great video, subed ;)
Hey Count, when you have time I think you'd be interested in my video (filmed with potato), "What Is The Future Of The Goth Scene?" Just a personal theory on alternative nightlife.. but with optimistic uncertainty at the end.
can't wait :]
Very excited to see the podcast and what you have upcoming. Can't wait and good luck ^-^
I'm looking forward to this so much!! Having noted your vocal clarity in previous videos, I can't imagine a more perfect host, and Sasha as well! :)
Well I hope we don't disappoint those lofty expectations! The first show is a bit slow I'll admit (I just finished editing it) but we are just getting our feet wet, I have lots of things I'll start adding to the show with the second episode I think you will enjoy.
