Late to the party, but excellent video! Each pair has it's uniqueness; I like the toe box shape of the Taiwan because it resembles more closely to the XI low playoffs and his '95 PEs, but prefer the soles of the China pair- they also look to be thicker. Personally I don't mind the crease color of the patent leather- either are fine with me.

Sadly, most of the 85 Jordan leather has a coating of plastic on it even the better feeling ones. Rose anvil kind of exposed that while back in one of his videos. I just don't get for the money we pay for these 85s we should at least be getting mid-tier leather that doesn't have coat of plastic on top. I get the shoe would scratch easier or get messed up quicker but. I think that's the worth the tradeoff of having better leather.

when i got them in 1996 i got the same box the concords and columbias had. what i was told that when they first released im april of that year they had the same box and when they "restocked" they came in this nike box. i feel ripped off now 😂 these and the shadow 10s from 1994 i have the Taiwan pairs. on the 10s you can tell easily cause both jumpmen on the back face towards the left. thanks for this detailed comparison. i don't think i got a China pair until the 1999 indiglo 14s or 1998 playoff 13s. now cause of this video i need to dig them up and see what's what now 😂

How many OG colourways are there of this model?

The Canvas tongue is actually just as accurate to the OG Nylon tongue's from 85. Only the black/colored tongues where Nylon whereas the white tongue pairs where canvas. So, the canvas is technically just as accurate as the nylon it just depends on the colorway.

How the hell is it worth 600USD for vibe remake lab when the leather quality is just decent? The markup must be insane. Fair play to them though, as I guess they read the market well and people are paying that.

I'm going to stick with my 2015's, I love DB's line of 85s, but the vibrancy of that blue portrayed in the original has to be captured, otherwise it doesn't hit the same.

I had 3 pairs of the retro's of this model. One in black/white, the other was white/citron and the last pair was black/purple. I wore em so often, the soles separated from the rest of the shoe(s) haha. Wouldn't mind if Nike retroed these again!

That leather looks like the same cheap leather Nike used air force 1s. They would mix leather with plastic which results in a fine consistent texture. Its not worth the $200 SRP!
