I got to bear witness to an awesome event. The RetroGameCon Charity Auction sold a signed Baulders Gate 3 banner for $10,000! There was a back and forth between two amazing individuals. The video starts around the $4200 mark.

We've been replacing the elctrolytic with ceramic caps , I'm bummed I missed the live
mono amp can short out on the soundbox because it is conductive :)

TAMs are pretty cool even if they were a commercial flop. I'd take one! ;)
I actually powered up my 500 last night for the first time in a while. I need to find some decent disk images to go on my Gotek that will work on it. Most of my images don't work or else I don't know what I'm doing. Or maybe I should get a 1200 haha ;)
You should get a 536 with a relocator. TerribleFire 536, I know a guy who sells them

oh, i just fixed someones Backlit Portable. It was JDW's. It needed some serious repairs.@@BollingHolt
@@AmigaofRochester Mine is still in pieces at the moment. Perhaps I should send it back to you. Pending I have that, the Mac Classic board, and that Apple CD-ROM.... and I haven't even cracked open the Compaq Portable yet LOL

HV probe. they arent cheap, i found two of mine at garage sales.

Thanks, I was lucky as I wasn't the one disassembling it. The owner said he broke a few pieces disassembling it. I've heard you need to do something with bringing them to a warm temp so the plastic is flexible

Do any other Amiga's other than A1200's and A600's and A4000's need recapping? I heard the 3 I mention are the only ones prone to cap damage.
What do you have? We work on pretty much anything as long as we know what is wrong. we just fixed a mac iici and mac ii that were both dead.
I'm planning on attending VCF and might be interested in the soldering course. Where do I sign up?

The Agnus PLCC Socket is a pain in the rear. Didn't have to end up doing it on my Amiga thank god. LOL

Update on this board: Turns out I put one of the resistor packs in reversed. The board is working flawlessly! Auto config tested and what not is good.

Say man, you wouldn't happen to know where one could find a replacement logic board for a Performa 550 would you? Saved one from recycling and I found the clock battery had leaked all over the board ruining it. I would hate to toss it and really wanna get it fixed but so far I cannot find any spare parts.
Amazing job, looks mint. I've also restored mine but I may have missed a few things. 1) The PRAM circuit doesn't work and settings are always lost regardless of the state of the cell batteries, the moment it's unplugged. Any ideas? The main lead acid battery is long gone. 2) The backlight spills onto the screen at the edges and is very disctracting. Yours doesn't seem to have this problem. Is there a way to seal the gap somehow to mask it out? 3) The contrast (left) and black light dials don't seem to work that well. The range on the contrast seems too high and black light isn't very stable/smooth when it's adjusted. But I'm pretty sure I replaced the two caps on the board the back light is connected too, back in 2015.
It not entirely true. My old unitras still have caps from 60s and they don't leek. Not only that I never met even one Elwa (the brand of caps in almost all of polish stuff) cap leeking or beginning to leek or even leeked they are know for their leek proof.
So, while your caps haven't leaked...they likely are drying. You'd need to test against an esr meter. I work on early 90s primerily and it loves leaking. It's like saying you don't need recap stuff from the 30s...sure if it's mica or other stable material (most of the time)...but if it's a wax capacitor. It'll be highly electrically leaky.
@@AmigaofRochester they are losing their value some even early Orange ones are always dead. The blue ones are mostly fine to the point where they can be used for replacement if are new old stock. Another thing is that Unitra has a big tolerance of changes in values.

Pal doesn't work on us TV's. He is testing on a ntsc composite. His game is ntsc too
I was there only on Saturday - with @RetroTech Chris - It would have been nice to have met @NCommander too. The orange plasma PS/2 that was there is a Model P70. The "System Source Computer Museum (physically located in nearby Maryland) had a System/32, System/34, and a System/36 set up. It was a great show - I just finished the three-day drive back last night!
3 days? Wow, that makes my 6 hours drive feel puny. It absolutely was a great show. I enjoyed every moment of it.
@@AmigaofRochester - I was needing to transport a bunch of stuff home that wasn't going to be shipped (NIB Model 90 XP 386, AS/400, InfoWindow terminals, etc.), and it formed into a VCF East visit too. My first video will be the fewer items acquired at the meet. The car was packed, but was the right size and vehicle!
I enjoyed meeting you while I was there!
I was donated a webcam so the next Livestream will be dope. I can't wait.

Did you replace JL2 and UM2 also in order to get the board to boot? Also, I see you added diodes to D1 and D2, but my IIcx board doesn't have those. Is there a reason for adding?
