ख़ुशबीर सिंह 'शाद' का नाम हिंदुस्तान के आला शायरों में शुमार होता है। उर्दू शायरी को उन्होंने philosophy की नज़र से देखा और ज़िंदगी के फ़लसफ़े को परत दर परत समझ कर, अपने अल्फ़ाज़ों के ज़रिए हमें समझाया, कि देखो, ये है ज़िंदगी। शाद साहब ने अपने उस्ताद वाली आसी साहब से उर्दू ज़बान व शायरी की तालीम हासिल की। शाद साहब की कुछ प्रकाशित किताबों में -- गीली मिट्टी, ज़रा यह धूप ढल जाए, बात अंदर के मौसम की, जहां तक ज़िंदगी है बहुत मशहूर हुईं। इसके अलावा उनकी '"चलो कुछ रंग ही बिखरे" हिंदुस्तान के साथ-साथ पाकिस्तान में भी प्रकाशित हुई है। Dawn, वॉइस ऑफ़ अमेरिका, बीबीसी ,टाइम्स ऑफ़ इंडिया द्वारा उनके इंटरव्यूज भी किए गए हैं।

Khushbir Singh 'Shaad' is counted among the top poets of India. He viewed Urdu poetry through the lens of philosophy and understood the philosophy of life layer by layer. He explained to us through his words-"Look, this is life." Shaad Sahab learned the Urdu language and poetry from his mentor, Wali Aasi Sahab.
His ghazal collections have been published in Devanagari, Urdu, and Punjabi scripts. Some of his well-known published books include Geeli Mitti, Zara Yeh Dhoop Dhal Jaye, Baat Andar Ke Mausam Ki, and Jahan Tak Zindagi Hai. Additionally, his book Chalo Kuch Rang Hi Bikhre has been published in both India and Pakistan. His poems have been featured in prestigious global magazines, and he has been interviewed by Dawn, Voice of America, BBC, and The Times of India.
