    We have to be cautious and discerning in mixing groups of friends or acquaintances. I had never considered that people might switch up on me so drastically in a different context. In my early to mid-20s, I encountered this issue mixing high school and university and work associates. I also became involved with my partner got married in this time and introduced some my husband's friends and family at times. It did show me a lot about how some of these individuals really felt towards me and the narrative they created. I am actually thankful for that experience because it made me cut the weeds from life that were attempted to limit my growth. However, I fear that it may have pushed me to be a bit too concerned for these types of mixed interactions in the future.

    I am literally experiencing this right now. I connected a high school friend with a friend of about 8 years (both living in a different state from me) 2 years ago. I connected them because my friend had just moved to the new state and had trouble making friends so I connected her with my friend. They went out twice in 2 years but didn’t hit it off. Fast forward to me moving to the state they both are in 6 months ago with my daughter as a single mom needing a change. We all hung out together a couple times in the beginning. I fell out with the hs friend within 3 months of living here. Surprisingly following the fall out now all of a sudden the two that never made a connection are now hanging out every weekend…🤔 I did like you and tried to give it the benefit of the doubt for a while, but after seeing pics posted to IG every weekend of outings that did not include me I had to vocalize my frustration. I feel like I’m typing too much lol but needless to say I was very hurt and confused by the sudden connection.

    Loving this conversation! I married my high school/college sweetheart. We got married right after college at 23/24 and while our marriage is amazing there were some groooowwiiinng pains! In this day and age, children should focus on becoming a well rounded, mentally sound, secure, healthy and happy person- because things are so weird now ... pour into yourself and make some amazing experiences ... marriage doesn't have to be the ultimate goal

    • @MrsKre8ivetype
      @MrsKre8ivetype 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe marriage should be the ultimate goal if someone plans to procreate. Kids thrive from the stability, predictability and structure a healthy marriage can provide. I believe we need to change the mindset that marriage isn't a goal and recognize the true value, and significance it actually holds. To dismiss marriage is to dismiss the intention of family as God designed. His divine will is absolutely the "ultimate goal". @latisewilson4561

    When you have kids meaning more than 1 it can get hard trying to be on time for anything. I'm not saying it's not possible. I can totally relate to Tasha as far as being late because of the kids and popping up to my house and it not being spick and span and looks as if no one lives there. When she said "this is my reality" I totally get it. We're a family of five so if I'm late and say it's because I have 3 kids that's the truth and my reality. It's not that I'm blaming the kids for me being late but as a Mom that's just the reality of things.

    This was a good episode! I have a few points to add here. I did take a couples trip to Cancun during valentines 2 years ago and did not post anything. Legit took only 2 pictures the entire trip. Then as someone who had 10 bridesmaids I definitely communicated to them up front what to expect As far as the budget and what we would be covering. Me as the bride was the more conservative one I wanted them to spend the least out of pocket and they all let me know that should not be my concern, their main thing was let us do for you and for me to just worry about getting married. I will forever appreciate all of them wanting to love on me in their way and willingly wanting to do it all (bridesmaids duties, bachelorette trip, the additional African attire, etc) without hesitation. However there are people like y’all explained that expect the world from their friends and then fall out if that’s not the end result. Also, slowly I’m relearning that social media is definitely a highlight reel and I have to remember to separate it from reality.

    • @LetmeCallmybestie

      Thank you for the feedback, Crystal! I love that you communicated up front which I can truly appreciate because it definitely keeps down on the confusion and helps with getting things in order on my end versus throwing a Bach trip to Mexico at me a month before 😅 I don’t think it’s a matter of I don’t want to do it, it’s more so, let me prepare my schedule, sitters, finances etc. and of course show up and show out for the bride ☺️ Thanks for joining the conversation I enjoyed your feedback 💗 Val
