Documenting my adventures towards the Seven Summits. Scaling Summits and Solidifying Satisfaction through the excitement of expeditions and capturing the vast vistas of the remote and rugged terrain of the world less travelled through time-lapses and film.
If you'd asked me 5 years ago to go on a muti-day hike to climb a peak, I probably would have laughed at the idea. My love of adventure and the road less travelled triggered throughout a cycling trip in 2014. The smells of tantalising tossed garlic in the remote and rural villages in Vietnam still a fresh and vivid taste. Though it would still be a few year before I'd attempt my first hike and summit, Mt Fuji.
Perhaps scared of the unknown, lack of knowledge and equipment drowned my vision for climbing and hiking for all these years. Though this all changed as I embarked on a solo journey and stood on the summit of Japan's highest peak for my 21st.

Matterhorn Solo Climb | 4478m | 4K
Implementing the lessons learnt from the previous endeavour, my second attempt to scale the Matterhorn just as challenging. Heighten by a deadly week with the fatality of 2 climbers and 6 others being heli rescued from the mountain hut after an unexpected storm caught them by surprise the day prior.
I too experience the intensity of the storm on the way down from my own summit bid, the snow accumulating on my wind breaker as I coil and thread the next anchor. Visibility and tracks deteriorating, I take my time not to be another statistic and make the call to stay the night at Solvary hut, sleeping on the timber floors and nibbling and sipping on rations to last the next day.
A childhood dream made reality as I overcome the struggles, setbacks and doubts of a long life goal.

Climbing Federation Peak | Australia's Toughest Mountain | 4K
มุมมอง 7K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
Despite only being 1225m in elevation, Federation peak was described by Edmund Hillary as Australia's only true mountain. I first sighted Federation peak along my solo journey along the Tasmanian wilderness and Western Arthurs a few years back and told myself I would return to attempt it one day. In this film I try to convey the challenges that were endured and what makes this Australia's tough...

A Fatality and Close Call | Khan Tengri (7010m) Expedition | Kyrgyzstan (Хан-Тенгри) | 4K

I've read and watched a fair share of mountaineering books and documenters, describing falls and fatalities. Never did I expect to witness such a horrific incident on my first expedition. As with most that take up this sport, I'm well and truly aware of the risks associate with the hobbie and in a way, this has certainly made me more risk adverse. Several months have passed since experiencing t...

You spent too much time filming....that's why you had to stay at solvay. Which is usually for emergencies 😅
Wow mate. You and your climbing buddies are epic
Hello Liam I congratulate you on climbing the Matterhorn, solo! Bravo! Thank you for the wonderful film from my home in Valais. It brings back unforgettable memories. I wish you good mountain tours. With alpine greetings Raphael Wellig
I fast forwarded to 7:50 and let me tell you, I wish I didn't lmao
1400m elevation gain in one push is insane especially at 5500m. Amazing work and shots
❤️🔥
How do you only have 1.76k subs hey?
1.76K of the best my friend!
Sehr schöne Bilder!
Great work Liam thanks for sharing. Epic and inspirational.
Cheers Steven, much appreciated!
oh look its the toblerone factory
Was hoping to find one of the summit, disappointed.
Absolutely the best pictures of Lyskamm with perfect sound I've ever seen! Making Lyskamm a campground is way cool, boys!
I kept meaning to get to this video for a while now! Mate, what an achievement to solo this, BIG well done to you, it looked brutal... I have to say you have a unique style in capturing the mountains (and editing) that creates some dramatic feels - same with the Lyskamm video - bravo 👏
So calming video
The Alps do well to calm the mind!
Well done!!!
Thank you!
Amazing. I have no mountaineering experience yet but hope to ascend it one day
Cheers mate, certainly a future goals to strive. I've found the overall journey of climbing and learning the technical skills and about myself the most rewarding along way!
Mt. Everest next Liam?
Few more technical mountains and environments I'd like to be exposed too before attempting. Still lots to learn!
Great video! I've noticed you have Julbo glasses. Do you maybe know the exact model/type of lenses you have? I'm thinking about getting similar ones :)
Cheers mate, Julbo shield (J508 12 14) Lenses are Spectron4 (Cat 4) Got them in Chamonix after my other glasses flew up my head and down into Italy when descending Mont Blanc
Viele wissen gar nicht, dass ich da Free Solo hochgeklettert bin. 2008 oder 2009 muss das gewesen sein
Thank you for the motivation to explore the mountains yourself
Cheers Micha!
Beautiful footage of your climb! What a great mountain! Thumbs up, and greetings from Canada!
Many thanks! Much appreciated
Outstanding effort Liam, especially from the village. Hearing you blowing like that really brought back memories of when I did it in August - had me questioning my resolve in the first couple of hours up to the Solvay Hut...! And well done doing both summits as well - you might as well while you are there eh? I did it with a great mate, 30 years to the day that my father traversed the mountain from the Italian side on his 60th birthday. Thank you for such a great video.
Cheers Harry, love hearing stories like this. Certainly would have been a unique experience to traverse 30 years ago. Can relate with your resolve, there were many time I felt like resting or turning around, glad perseverance prevailed!
that mountain is perfect for a free solo hahahhahah
Great video and your honesty makes it even more interesting . Donated your ice axe to the mountain eh? Easily done! As one whose only Alpine experience is two unsuccessful attempts on Mont Blanc and some decent Scotland Munros in winter, I salute you. It's the altitude issues and the sheer grade on the Matterhorn that sadly make it a no go for me now at 56. Maybe with a guide but not solo unless I want to add to the fatalities.
Thanks Mate, can confirm I slogged it back up to retrieve my axe (thought it was wiser to have on the decent then leave it behind) lucky it was only 30 vertical meters! I've often learnt more about myself with the unsuccessful attempts. Mont Blanc still a serious undertaking irrespective of getting to the top or not.
amazing movie, ur doing good job man
Cheers mate
Grad tangiert.
Great video, what camera gear did you use and when did you summit it?
Cheers! I've always used a Gopro Hero 9 or 10 due to weight etc. Summitted in Dec 22
Inspiring🙌🙌 congratulations man, this is EPIC👏👏👏
Thank you so much 😀
Sweating thinking about the decent!
Not a huge fan of the descent either ha, can be gnarly at time.
Correct food would be not to bring meat.
Got me up this time so beg to differ.
Love this video
Thank you!
Great effort, well done mate
Cheers Neil!
Why does that first meal look better than anything I saw you eat in a year of living with you?
Ha, better facilities, swiss grass backdrop, colour grading?
Incredible feat, and incredible editing. Thanks for making this video and congratulations. You are an inspiration.
Thanks for watching and feedback! Much appreciated.
the food at the start looks amazing lol, my man can cook!
Cheers mate! Its the best part of any climb!
This drone footage 🤯 so awesome 👏
Cheers Emmanuel, was the first time flying at altitude too ha!
Great video inspires me to want to try it. The narration and first person filming gives a good sense of what the experience is like. Impressive you did it from the village. I know most do it from the hornli hut
Cheers Nigel, certainly a goal to strive for! I was questioning my choice with every step throughout the night, worth while in the end!
What rope length would you recommend for repelling here?
I used 60m @9.5mm, worked out well with the fixed anchors.
Yeah but have you ever climbed Kosciuszko? In all seriousness this was beautiful to watch. Glad it popped up on my feed. Safe climbing.
Thanks you! Surprisingly, Kozzie was the first mountain I failed to climb ha (technically not my choice but forced to turnaround as I was undertaking a triathlon from Jindy lake (3k swim, 115km ride up to CP and half marathon to the summit and back)).
Fu…. Chemtrails
Complimenti sono 5 anni che ci faccio il filo spero tocchi ma me l’anno prossimo complimenti per il tuo video
molte grazie amico! È certamente un sogno a cui aspirare. Stai al sicuro con il tuo futuro si arrampica
👍
What a breathtaking video! The Matterhorn's dramatic beauty and the challenges you faced during the climb are truly awe-inspiring. The stunning 4K visuals really bring the scenery to life, and your perseverance in such intense conditions is incredible. Such a beautiful and powerful reminder of both the majesty and unpredictability of the mountains. Well done! 🏔👏
Cheers Simon! We can certainly learn a lot about ourselves in these mountain environments, I've certainly been humbled by the harshness of their beauty!
How long rope you used?
60m, 9.5mm. Worked out ideal considering the change of conditions. Fixed anchors spaced every 30m from the top down to the shoulder.
Beyond captivating, as a rock climber this makes me want to get out and try some alpine climbing. Well done.-
Thanks you, much appreciated! Be careful, it can become addictive, safe climbing!
Sketchy? More like super sketchy 😅 11:00 maybe better not to see how far it goes down on both sides 😅
Haha, my old folks would agree. Got lucky on the summit ridge, wasn't able to see all the way down with the clouds obstructing the view!
Bravo!
Thank you !
👏👏👏
Thank you!
Simply stunning quality. Good decision to stay the night and descend in the morning , well done and thanks for sharing here!
Many thanks Henrik, cheers for watching! Was a rough night on the floor, but was glad to be out from the storm!
Nice bro. I know how difficult it is. I also did it solo. Well done.
Cheers Valeriy, I like the raw capture of your experience, must have been going at a cracking speed from Zermatt to Hornli!
Super! Best wishes on future climbs.
Like wise Napier, thanks for tunning in over the years!
