OPM Podcast #4 10 18 24
This is an experimental music podcast that we are developing with "The Olympic Proof Mermaids". The idea is to give the band a platform to develop musical ideas and discuss various music topics that they feel have meaning. It's also a great opportunity to get used to playing live in front of the camera. I really feel exited about this new venture because its so all-encompassing.

On June 26, 2022 Beyond the Beat Music School performed a benefit for Ukraine at the Glenn Gould Studio. The concert was a huge success raising nearly $16000.00 for humanitarian aid through the Canadian Red Cross. This video is a wonderful representation of the concert, but it can not make up for the amazing experience of being at the show. Thank you to everyone who participated in the experien...

does Luna come with a drum machine??? Simple question
I see this was 3 years ago but I've just got Luna on my PC and this is the best beat tutorial I've found so far. I never thought about separating the kick, snare and high hat/shaker into different tracks and it's a game changer. Thanks
I stopped doing this. It only made rendering stems x100 harder especially on huge projects.
Do you have a full video cover of you playing this song that we can listen to? Your voice is beautiful!!
Thank you for a wonderful lesson. Is there any chance you could put up tab for the little fill at the end of this lesson
Awesome
This looks like a great and clear tutorial for a song I love …many thanks ..will try to get this !
I found this video because I googled “most underrated Tom Waits song.” I was hoping to find someone who agreed it was Invitation to the Blues. Yet Romeo is Bleeding fits the description also, and both could be lengthened into a film. Invitation to the Blues is classic film noir w/o the film. I saw Waits perform only once, and it was his Blue Valentine material. It was 1979 in Santa Cruz Ca. at the Civic Auditorium. Bob Dylan should give his Nobel Prize to Waits.
Love Tom and Love Dylan.
Oh the last time I saw Paul I was horrible and almost let him in But I stopped and caught the wall And my mouth got dry so all I did was take him for a spin Yeah, we hopped inside my car And I drove in circles 'round the freight train yard And he turned the headlights off Then he pulled the bottle out And then he showed me what is love I'll be your morning bright goodnight shadow machine I'll be your record player, baby, if you know what I mean I'll be your real tough cookie with the whiskey breath I'll be a killer and a thriller and the cause of our death In the blossom of the months I was sure that I'd get driven off with thought So I swallowed all of it As I realized there was no one who could kiss away my shit I'll be your morning bright goodnight shadow machine I'll be your record player, baby, if you know what I mean I'll be your real tough cookie with the whiskey breath I'll be a killer and a thriller and the cause of our death Oh Paul, I know you said that you'd take me any way I came or went But I'll push you from my brain See, you're gentle, baby I couldn't stay, I'd only bring you pain I was your starry-eyed lover and the one that you saw I was your hurricane rider and the woman you'd call We were just two moonshiners on the cusp of a breath And I've been burning for you baby since the minute I left
Thank you
But my strumming just doesn’t sound like that
whenever I click on a drum beat in shape it doesn't make a sound like in your video.
As an old guy beginner, I really appreciate the individual string / fret placement written in an easy to read script. (E.g. at 1:58 ) Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Ok this lesson kicks A$$ How can there be 12,000 views and only 167 likes ? If you clicked on this vid to see the lesson there is no reason not to like this one - 5 stars Thank you Josh - Do you have your own channel??
Bob Dillon Knocking on Heavens Door🎉
Camera man shot quality is why I'm here omg
Bro! 😂❤😅😮
So how do i do both at same time haha?
A question, may i do pan in that hats on left or righ?
Great tone, you nailed it
From what I heard the strumming is ⬇️⬇️⬆️⬇️⬇️⬆️⬆️⬇️⬆️⬇️⬆️⬇️⬆️
reall😁y....you have to hit each string 4 times
You are saving my life haha
Well done; excellent lesson. Thank you.
Nice cover ez to follow
Top cover by a young bloke..cheers from Australia big hit here in 1982...
You have the makings of a professional guitar teacher. I'm into blues & bluegrass mainly, but the way you teach pentatonic... you make it fun & somewhat clear to understand. You should do more short videos on pentatonic scales with souped-up examples. Your positivity is contagious also!
Gotta play the Jerry riff with the 8th fret c shape hitting the 12th fret w your pinky.
Wow
This is not how Phil plays it. This is like a wedding band cover version bass tutorial
Dead Set was 1981
Great lesson !! Thank you

Wow ❤
I prefer this version over the original!! One bad mamma jamma and only 15 likes is mind boggling to me. Hidden gem that’s for sure
Your voice is really similiar to hers, it’s so beautiful
The first version of Friend of the Devil I heard was the slower version from Europe '72. Any comments on that version?
I have not heard it! I know the Dead Set version well and love it, will have to check out the Europe '72 version..
When you’re deaf and can’t hear a slide
beautiful! can you please tell me what the strumming pattern is so i can understand easier please?
It all sounds great snd need to take guitar lessons from your guitar man!
this didn't quite feel right to my ear. I played around with it a bit and ended up settling with F, Am, Dm, Bb for the main progression instead if anyone feels like trying something different (obviously I changed the key there as well, but that was just to suit my voice)
Really liked this! thanks!
Good tutorial that would've been better without the Tiger Woods hat, although maybe you had a deeper meaning that Tiger is actually a friend of the devil. In that case, you win
OMG - this is so funny, I have been away from the channel and missed it. Thanks for making my day. Amazing.
9:28 this is crazy 😂😂😂
I'm one who thinks that The Grateful Dead are OVERrated. I acknowledge that at their best, they were great. And I also agree that China Cat Sunflower / I Know You Rider on Europe '72 is one of their best jams. I didn't know about the studio upgrading that they did here, but that helps me understand why I like it so much. The vocals were especially good, which was unusual for a band that rarely had good vocals (and often had BAD vocals). The Dead's main product was always their live shows and on Europe '72, they sounded better than I have ever heard them in person. So in that way, the album is deceitful. However, if instead of being a historical document, an album is considered to be a product that gives joy many times over, the studio improvements are acceptable and welcome. There is a reason that most people's favorite Dead album is the studio-recorded "American Beauty".
Nice. I had a blues guitarist as a teacher and he just blew me away. I used to bring him in cassette tapes of songs I wanted to learn and he’s write it out for me as well as record the practice session! Helluva guy.
That’s not come together
Cure is my most fav band IT still stands time......Smith is a genius and an entertainer Few bands can stand up to the entertainment value of the Cure
I love that song… amazing lyrics. You really did a great job… great voice!
Way I don’t have the drum beat software ? I have Apollo twin X
