I have come across many on both the left and the right who don't even know what socialism is as they argue for or against it. BUT, if drugs are decriminalized, you also need to have resources for people to get onto different paths. This is because, when you legalize or decriminalize illegal activities in which someone depends on for income, that income stream also disappears overnight. So, that’s why avenues need to be put in place for other opportunities. Otherwise you end up with the situation that Portland is currently experiencing.
