Where's your magnate to keep scrap staples from getting everywhere
I’m ten minutes in and I can already tell this gentleman knows his trade, and I’ve already learned some things!! Ty
Man thank youuuuuuuuu. I hope you hear this enough!
Use a release magnet to get staples
My man, nice Jesus plug. 👍🏻.
Great tutorial, I'm gonna use this method on my gunners, much shorter but much more bend around.. no sewing to get the same effect!!! Awesome. Thanks
What brand upholstry did you use?
What brand upholstry did you use?
What thread type and weight do you use on boat seats?
Good video.
Good video .
Hey brother I hope all is well, haven’t seen a video for a while
Great work - I may have missed it - does it matter if the marine grade vinyl isn't four way stretch? Would 2 way be sufficient?
This is like a Make massage to the dead body, Never leave old Form. Selfish and stupid paid twis.😂.
❤ thank you so much; I just finished my grandson’s ATV Taotao seat; it is beautiful!! Between Your expertise and God’s goodness, it looks very professional!! Blessings!!
Thank you I really appreciate the tutorials it has helped and educated me. Thank you God bless ya!
Thank you for these videos! Such a wealth of information. I am working on my first boat seat project. I have some questions I hope you can help me with. I have my patterns prepped and ironed out with seam allowances still intact. When I lay them on top of the foam (that has been steamed), some look like they are short. They don't even make it to the end of the foam with the seam allowance! Should I add the difference when I make my new pattern? As in, add to the end of the foam and then an additional 1/2" for the seam allowance? I worry about making it too tight if I just follow the pattern as is...and I also worry that if I make it bigger that I may create gapping or voids. Also, it looks like you always make straight "banding" (the side pieces that attach to the top surface piece). My templates are certainly not straight and I am wondering if they are stretched to look like this - and if I should not worry with tracing my pattern so much and just make a decent width and extra length (for peace of mind). OR, should I follow the curves in the existing pattern. I don't want to have any voids by making it too big . Thank you for your help!
You have helped me quite a bit. I knew the Army could help the Jarheads like me. Thanks a lot. Can’t wait for the next video.
What material do you use for your anchor strips?
Thank you so much for taking your time to help us make our own up grades. God bless you my friend.
Glad it was helpful!
I just finished a seat fpr an old friend. Thank you so much as I was going to end cap it. Next up is a boat seat.
Cool! Thank you for watching.
Where redo part 3?!?! I am a new subscriber and love watching your videos
I didn't film any more of this project. Sorry about that! I do appreciate you watching and commenting. Thank you
Come and see me when you can
Awesome lesson, thank you Colt and thank your wife for her awesome video work 👍😁❤️
Thank you Dave I appreciate you watching
I also like to label which panels have a top stitch/french seams.
Thank you for sharing your skills! Budding 40 something gent in the UK trying to change his career and move into something I love. Do you mind me asking how much you would charge for such a job?
Awesome tip Colt, thanks brother 👍😁
Any time!
What brand on vinyl do you prefer?
Video and sound are great, thank you 👍😁
Good to hear!
I do miss you brother, but I understand and love your work 👍😁❤️
I appreciate you so much, Dave. I've been shooting new videos for the past 2 days. I'll have some new content coming out this weekend on a Crownline boat I'm redoing.
@@spitntacksupholstery8080 can’t wait 👍😁
Well, thank you brother or after it we’ve been real busy trying to get things going, but Upholstery it’s in our blood. We’re just really grateful when folks watch peace be with you.
Are you related to bickin billy ray smith? You two look and sound the exact same! Love your videos!
Great job! Where do you get the material and colored snaps?
Great video series! Where do you buy your materials? I've done 2 of my own boats in the past with materials from Cabellas, but they don't carry it anymore. Looking for the old style "heavy leather texture". All I can find is smoother small grain texture (only doing captain chairs on this boat), trying to at least come close to matching the old grain texture. Also need to do the snap on covers, front and back. Did them 2 yrs ago and they are shot already. The inferior material shrunk severely and sun faded in 3 months! (Red) Thanks and keep up the good work!
Where are u located
Great video..... how long are the staples are you using ?
Can I get a witness
I absolutely love your videos! I appreciate you sir. I learn so much from your videos thank you sir!
Great Video. Teaching the Process of Thinking your way through the layout and full use of the Leather. Always a ton of real world Information in your Videos!!!
Good to see you, thanks Colt 👍😁
Definitely unusual! Love the barley twist rounds! 👍
Technical question for you. I have started using scrim on most projects, but I get fold lines when working with larger pieces, due to manipulating the pieces when pushing through the sewing machine. Any advice on the best way to avoid this, rectify this, etc? I have tried to steam or lightly add heat to it, but they are still visible. I do assume that over time, in the sun, these slight imperfections will work themselves out, but I don't want to give an slightly wrinkled product back to the customer...

You mentioned a broad fin tool for the initial tear down work. Is there another name for that?
Do you allow people to mail you things to upholster? Would love for you to do my boat seats.
Great video!
Is long video sometimes but necessary for learning anything 👍
21 year old future upholsterer here! I live in a pretty rural area so it’s been incredibly hard to find someone to help me learn the trade. Your videos have been so helpful. Thank you!
You can do it! Thanks so much for watching!
Excellent teacher‼️ thank you
What brand of steamer do you have? Thank you for all the help!
I'm only at the deconstruction portion, but you definitely need a cheap magnet to pick up those staples. Would save you time and cuts
Doesn’t matter since the old skin is still on. I’m sure area is spotless when he’s applying the finished product.
Most boat upholstery uses stainless steel staples so they won’t rust and stain the gel coat. stainless staples are non-ferrous so a magnet won’t work, but I sure wish it did!!! Good thought.
