This channel is aimed at trainspotters from beginners to those who have been doing this for many years. My own background is borderline beginner/intermediate, so join me as I discover locations and their offerings. Trains at HIGH WYCOMBE (02/10/24) - Chiltern Mainline, Cats 😺 and a Tug.
High Wycombe has three platforms, two through and one bay. Just Chiltern operate from this station. The highlights are the Class 68's and the odd freight train, otherwise its class 165 & 168's all the way.

My first visit to Newbury. I wasn't expecting a great deal, but it turned out a nice little session. Just the one passenger company operating out of Newbury, GWR. Never noticed before that 168/0 had 165 networker cabs.
Hi Simon, I definitely see that connection with class 165, which is over 30 years old. Both were built at the same factory in York. Classes 168/0 were built at derby in the late 90s, so I'm not sure any connection exists to the networkers. Thanks for commenting 👍

How do you know where the freight trains are going? Can always see where they pass but never know where the destiniation
I use a website called Realtime trains in detailed mode. Hope that helps 🙏

It's weird to me that the 800s don't tilt... Isn't that going to increase travel times slightly on the WCML? I mean the trains they're replacing were able to tilt.
I am not sure about journey times, but the advantage is the change to bi mode to aide partial running on electric where overhead exsists instead of running class 221 on diesel the whole route.
@spectrumtrains of course, and that stuff is great, but it just seems like a small backwards step? Maybe I'm overthinking but the Voyagers weren't made to tilt just for decoration, it's just weird the replacement trains can't so the same
I once had a girlfriend who lived right next to this place and I used to lie in bed trying to sleep, considering taking a can of WD40 to those bloody rails.
Some reasons for not sleeping are exceptable, but living next to Clapham Junction would be a nightmare for some.🤣
