    This looks amazing. I hadn't heard about hawthorne leaves and flowers yet, I've been using the berries in teas, but I'd be interested in trying the leaves and flowers. Never heard of LInden either. But love a lot of what was in the tea. I don't think I've ever had St. Johns in a tea form either, and that was all new to me. Is it a good bed time tea? Thank you Rosemary.

    I love Matthew. I love his stories, his joy, and his intelligence, which is definitively worldly and ecumenical, I would call it (like a symphony). I just got his Shamanic Herbal, and I am taking his course of A-Z Herbals, and I am so enjoying all his classes. He is more than a classic. Thank you so much for sharing. Yes, his stories are epic! They help me remember herbs that I have not been familiar with!

    Also thanks for contributing to lifesaving teachings. I suffered Steven Johnsons Syndrome and felt so failed by western medicine. Felt abused and neglected, cast aside, once you are the 1% 'rare side effect' sufferers doctors just kinda shrug their shoulders and even if they do care to help they don't put much energy into healing the outliers who suffer at their hands when things don't go to plan. It was horrible. Started researching what vitamins /nutrients I could use to heal instead of all those meds that caused me harm, for allergies, mental health issues, everything under the sun really that I suffered from childhood as far as common ailments go, eczema, etc. Food and environmental allergies, One has to wonder if pharmaceuticals played a role in the first place in addition to the spiritual conflicts that obviously underly these things as well. But supplements alone do not do the trick, I am so glad to be influenced by herbalists who showed me the most pure and potent way to get these forms of nutrition and empower me to grow them myself and thus reconnect me with the planet and my loved ones and my truest self in new ways <3 Love you dearly, elder herbalists.

    So great to hear these stories, so thankful to all of you who have revitalized herbalism in the western world. After studying buddhism and hinduism a lot in college I got cynical about how "new age" stuff suffered as it got westernized, as happens when many things as it becomes commercially motivated and in the wrong hands and what not but it's so apparent that even though so many supplement companies for example are being bought out by the 10 or however many corporations that basically try to control everything- it's amazing to meet the people behind companies like HerbPharm and Traditional Medicinals to be assured that this is not happening in the herbal world :) What a close knit community indeed. Thank you, elders.

    I really appreciated the remarks about the lack of apprenticeship program. More schools of herbology seem to be just focused on making money and forget the essence (spirit) of herbalism which is more than just learning about constituents. I wish I had someone to guide me in this area however I am honoured and grateful for Rosemary bringing these videos with the Elders as I have learned so much.

    When making the calendula and comfrey oil what if you live where it is always overcast/cloudy and raining with no sun 9 months out of the year

    • @rosemarygladstar7436
      @rosemarygladstar7436 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      9 months with no sun ! Oh, that’s sad! (Sounds a bit like northern Vermont where I live😊. You can easily make an herbal oil using a double boiler. Or by infusing herbs in oil in a warm spot in your home over several weeks. When making a large batch of herbal oil or several oils at one t time, I like to use those ‘electric roaster’s (used for baking turkey’s in). You can put several different oils in pint or quart jars and place the jars in a water bath in the electric roaster. Keep water approximately half way up the jar. Put heat on low, ,and let warm for a couple of weeks. Makes a terrific herbal oil!!!!
