    Have you tried running the crank/cam in diagnostic mode so it's only reading the cam for the first few revolutions?

      Yeah, I kind of sped through that part in the video. It was reading, but not registering enough to start. I realized the car needed a jump start in part due to you explaining to me a few months back that it could happen with low battery voltage lol I was super relieved when it worked, ‘cause I was dead in the water there for a good bit

      There’s a noise ceiling at the tracks near me, and my car happened to be the loudest that day since most others were more typical street cars and mine is quite loud in comparison

    Good tires, Good coil overs set up correctly, Better brake set up. Lastly a set up that is smooth and linear in boost and power. Laggy set ups that hit hard do not work well. We drag race but have for fun played around some and i can tell you we get spanked by cars with hundreds of less HP as we lag then everything comes in at once and upsets the car. We already knew this but was just for fun to try.

    Also with the brakes, I did my CTSV swap for dirt cheap. And they’re amazing. I plan to upgrade to the 3G booster and evo rears too! What tires are you using?

      I’ve considered that swap, people just say the cobra rotors are a little thin. Still might do it, but I’m assessing the options. Currently on Yokohama Advan tires

      @ that’s true I have heard that about the rotors, although I can’t see them being any more susceptible to overheating over the oem sized 2g rotors

      That is an improvement! I’ve wanted the CTSV setup for years. It’s likely that versus a classic Brembo setup

      @@GHSTII Granted we are drag racer's. But a buddy of ours is not and he went the CTSV front brakes and evo brembo rear's. He likes it but hates the peddle feel now so is going to 3g booster. Known thing. They are Definitely a upgrade for the money. Limit wheel choices but if you do not plan to drag race then its not a issue. Even the classic brembo set up benefits from a 3g booster as well.

    this would be a cool mod down the line, but my PS works currently and I don't like plumbing hydraulic lines all down the car and adding another reservoir lol

      Some install it in the stock location as a replacement, but I don’t have room there right now. The main reason I did the swap though was it made it easier to work in the engine bay deleting the stock P/S pulley, and the electric pump is more responsive for a high stress environment like the road course. It is loud and takes up some space, but it was necessary in my case 😂

    I'm assuming the nitrous line connects with a flared AN fitting? If so, the fluid seal happens at the flare, not the threads, so you don't want to use teflon tape on the threads. Only use teflon tape on connections where the threads are creating the seal.

    Any particular reason you didn't go with an EPAS system? It's what I did on mine and its been great so far. Relatively easy install, and you dont have to listen to that ridiculous whining inside the car.

      Are you referring to the upgrade to the stock system? If so, I just didn’t like the belt driven setup, and deleting it made it easier for me to work on the car. I’ve stripped out a lot of things that made it hard to reach stuff on the fly. To me, this setup was simpler.

      No, not at all, this completely does away with the stock system. It's a motor driven shaft that modifies the stock steering shaft. There's a guy on FB that makes a "kit" too if you dont have the ability to weld. There's alot of info on tuners if you search it.

      Ohh, the electrical motor, like the Prius one. I really liked that option, I just thought you had to be able to weld. Gabe Ortega made a good video series doing it. It is something I would potentially consider switching to. In the meantime, I’m not the only one running the Volvo solution, and it meets the task well.

    Keep an eye on those nitrous lines, they may be rated to 1000 psi but most power steering systems can see upward of 2000 psi.

      That’s something I was somewhat worried about, but I’m not spraying that much fuel, and the injectors only spray when the car is in boost. They turn off when the car goes into vacuum. I imagine any residual fuel is minuscule, and in the form of vapor. I’ve run it pretty hard since, and so far no signs of spraying fuel everywhere.

    I did this on an Audi 200. I found that the intake air temp was never dropped below the flash point of whatever water/methanol mixture I was injecting. It would sit around 160-180 degrees at 38psi, and never dropped lower. If anything, it would climb. I'd have to touch up the tune if the weather changed too, because the air density would affect how much liquid i could run through the charge pipe without putting the flame out.

    How did you even find a 2G GSX? I had a Red 98 GSX back in the early 2000s, been looking for one to build again. Impossible to find. Just GS-T

      It was a synchronicity. Didn’t expect to ever find one, much less actually commit to putting the time, money and effort into it. Thought I moved past DSM’s. Glad I was wrong.

    They're known as the "ticking time bomb". Two of my friends had the same issue: the awd drive system would randomly lock up. One friend had a lock up at 30 miles per hour and barely dodged a wall and my other friend got locked up at 70+ miles an hour and barely survived the crash. Please be careful and see if you can address the known issues. Still a sweet nostalgic car bro and congrats!

      Are you talking about a dsm with the 420a engine or a 4g63?... the engines are comparing apples to oranges.... dsms are definitely not slow, those 4g63 will make some jam on stock internals with the right set up and a proper tune

      @@GHSTII pritty cool. I got Manley Rod's and Manley I beam's. Also HKS 272 Cam's Haven't been able to run it tho. Was sent the wrong studs now I have to fix the block cuz I was sent 11mm instead of 12mm bolts. Pain in the rear. Gonna get it done tho. Block is bored .20 over so I feel bad. Would of liked to run away this summer. Went Acl bearings. All ARP studs. Going to call her vemon when she run's. 97 convertible

    isn't 14-1 ratio a bit lean?

      I could definitely run it richer, but I had it running pretty solid before the trigger swap idling at 14.7, as have others I’ve seen with similar setups. 13.8 would probably be a solid target, so I went in between and chose 14.2 to get it dialed in.

    🙌🏻🙌🏻 they’re not as unreliable as people say! Mines been an absolute gem. Even tho all of my videos make it seem like it’s got lots of down time, I just don’t post the good times far enough

      Same I have a few and no major problems at all. I go back and forth between a 4g64 spyder and a 4g63 gst.
