The sad thing is I see these bikes for cheap all the time 95% have gummed up carbs. This might be interesting on a vmax.

Any possibility of getting a good closeup view of the throttle cable connection. I'm thinking of doing this conversion, but not sure about having to fabricate the throttle connection on the carburetor.

Unfortunately without major fabrication the mono shock suspension on these bike do not have an aftermarket replacement. With some searching used replacements can be found for reasonable prices.

Jeff borowski, the bike is currently under the knife for some very big changes. Once the bike is back on the road I will post more about it

I would love to see a vid made while riding to see what the throttle response is under full load. To bad you did not continue this on Venturerider.org, there was a lot of interest there.

Been riding these Ventures since '87 and am currently wearing out my 6th one of them (you can see my current scoot by clicking here if you would like: th-cam.com/video/8cctFSfixBA/w-d-xo.html ) I am VERY interested in what you found out after dynoing this set up? Or, if nothing else, what is your seat of the pants impression of performance on this compared to stock? Also, did you rejet the Escort carb and if so do you recall what you used for jet sizes and where you got them? I LOVE the fact that you chose to go 2 barrel = seems like that should really help in the performance..

The bike is a little temperamental to start in weather that cold but once it warms up it runs fine. As far as riding in that kind of weather I would not know how the bike would act, typically that kind of weather where I'm located involves snow plows and stupid drivers.

How is it running when you get below frezing? I want to do the yukon highway on my xvz1300 sidecar.

I'd rather not deal with the wiring/programing or computers for efi. I leave the electronics to the experts.

you know if you cram a throttle body form a small cat say 1.3 metro and weld some injector bungs in to the runners you are half way to a working efi set up.

did you have a problem with back firing into the carb when you first set it up?

I cant imagine a GW going much over 105 mph, they are pretty ill handling at that speed even when they were new. Sounds like you are calculating on paper using their steep OD top gear. A GSXR1100 of the same era with about 100 rwhp could only go 160ish and that was with way less frontal area and a vastly superior frame....

Do you have a way of telling me what vac ports you capped off on the carb and or used?
