xd I actually have to play conservatively on my chaos and xenos tracks in onslaught or else I’ll get wiped. onslaught is necessary and salvage runs are pmuch the only way to get equipment
Get rid of salvage and replace it with a mode that lets us farm shards like onslaught
i need salvage and onslaught to complete missions related to xenos without campaign tho
both game modes take less than 5 mins to complete, it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things

What a weird take. Onslaught is the only activity in the game that guarantees you 6-7 character shards per run (18-21 per day). Salvage guarantees you two Snotflogga shards per run (4 per day). Both can be converted to archeotech once you have the Rogue Trader unlocked. Onslaught and Salvage are among the most rewarding modes in the game and I prefer them both over Incursion, Guild Wars or Survival. The only issue with them is that Onslaught takes too long. I do agree that it would be great to able to raid both modes when we don't need them for missions.

So we get nerfs on two great characters and SP ignore the real problem in the game, nothing but awful boring characters released since Kharn. Build good characters that actually do something, then people wont gravitate to such a small pool of characters, seems logical but SP cant see the wood for the trees.
I’ve been meaning to bring this up. But I disagree with your opinion on raid tickets. Raid tickets have been very useful for the incursions. If you lose at any point you can always start over and just raid the complete battles all the way up until where you lost. Makes incursions easier. I agree onslaught is very tedious for something that’s not a guaranteed drop. Orbs and badges should be guaranteed for onslaught. A raid option would also be a nice addition.

@DraupnirWhatitdo I get what you’re saying but if the tickets are removed then stamina would have to be used for raiding incursions events. I’d have to use my precious stamina to do it and that’s not a good idea. I honestly didn’t participate in the new campaign event because it utilized stamina as well. Raiding should only cost raid tickets, not both stamina & tickets. They could make the cost of a raid the same value as what the stamina consumption would normally be but in raid tickets. The drop rates, RNG, BS costs, etc have not kept up with the expanse of the game. As they add more stuff, the things you need to collect must reduce in cost or the cost of the game continues to climb exponentially. They are not increasing the rewards as they add more characters... so the net effect is, starved for resources, rediculous amount of characters that are either unattainable, or unplayable because you cannot level them, so you stare at all these cool things you want to do and play that you cannot until you sink in silly amounts of time or $ or both to generate BS so you can speed it all up, and even then, with every character added, the chances a new player can get that drop goes down over time with the same 10 requisitions that you eventually get, so the relatively static 'rewards' are feeling worse and worse as they become more diluted proportionally with every new character release. This effectively makes it harder and harder for new players to get in. Big problem.
Preach, there's hours of filler every day just for the sake of filler. The answer they usually give is to provide content and its not required to do, but yes it is required if you want to literally progress at the snails pace the game sets out.
I’d love to see the ability to raid salvage/ onslaught. I’d love to see an increase in the capacity for their tokens to a couple days or a weeks worth. That way if we don’t get raid ability you can chunk out a bunch of them in one sitting rather than finding the time and energy each day. I’d love to see the rewards for salvage increase. At the moment the gold and scrap from salvage feels negligible. One hero release or survival event will give you more gold in the mid to high chests than months of salvage runs. The recent scrap event gave me more scrap than salvage has given me for my entire 6 month play time. Maybe do this with enemy variety. The normal goblins and orcs in salvage are negligible for anything else than target practice. Replace them with enemies that only last a single round or two but drop a ton of gold, or scrap. I’d love to see onslaught rewards increase. Make it so if you honor a character on a non ascension upgrade it guaranteed drops a badge and then also a chance for an orb. Reverse it for ascension upgrade steps, guaranteed orb and potential badge. And/ or include a reliable method of getting orbs and badges in one of the shops. ATM you can get orbs and badges on occasion from some of the shops but never enough of them and rare enough that you can’t plan on that as a source.
TOTALLY AGREE!! STUFF LIKE THAT DESTROYS A GAME!! yeah its by design to "make them money" (because people want to speed up progress). I disagree!! get this shit out of the game ASAP and give the loot for free to people!! Dont even make me press a raid button, just delete this crap!!
I could also see the Divisio Assassinorum being added in as a supplemental Imperial faction. I think there's about five of them, and they would all be cool units to slot in against certain comps in likely an array of game modes. Snowprint could use them each to address different meta threats or niches.
Salvage in particular is just egregious. You get one puzzle: the strongbox. Once you solve this for imperials and xenos (and learn to ignore chaos salvage), there is nothing left to think about. With the progress bar on each sector they could just give us bossfights against orc, necron, and admech characters instead, and keep those tiny loot spawns in the battle as bait.
Salvage is meh but at least it is pretty fast. The problem for me is that it shouldn't be separated by faction cause I always do the same considering I will get waaay less money if I change. Onslaught is just boring and time consuming af, sometimes I end up with full tokens cause jesus christ
I don't do them outside of HRE events and I feel so much better for it. It sucks that a game is more fun by skipping part of it instead of less.

I’d be perfectly happy to do something else if the rewards from these modes was available some other way, but gold, badges and orbs are all seriously stretched resources already so I can’t not do these modes. To be honest, salvage takes 2 minutes maximum so I’ve never worried about that, but onslaught is tedious and takes time to complete. I’ll still pay them both until they’re replaced but I look forward to the promised revamp.

Yeah I'm pretty sick of Salvage Run myself. The drops suck, the damage bar takes forever to empty, I only play it because my characters NEED Rare+ items and they never even drop. Like wtf am I even supposed to be doing?

You couldn't have posted this at a better time. I've only played a few months, and doing Onslaught and Salvage every single day without dropping token cooldown has been exhausting. I'm burned out already. I'm also out of raid tokens. Just make raiding free and onslaught and salvage raidable. Or better yet, add a feature so you can spend multiple energy/tokens on one run played.

Ultimately these changes only primarily effect one game mode, guild raids. Tacticus is more than just GR. While the double howl thing is annoying (really only for those that used/abused it in TA), it actually will help make TA more enjoyable in the future. You can still be part of a top 100 guild without being a slave to the meta team(s).
Hybrid the salvage tracks (gear for all factions) Onslaught guarantees maximum rewards on competion (guaranteed orbs/badges and shards) Increase both token caps to 5. Increase badges from Salvage for all factions. Let the enemy types rotate in both game modes per week (w1 orks, w2 nids, w3 chaos, etc) and with it the associared shards (salvage only, add different shards instead of just snotflogga like calandis, titus, yazakor, yarrick, etc.) Add the chests for points like in onslaught for salvage and per each full stage a requisition scroll. At least the game mode would be rewarding.

All of these complaints apply to every facet of this game short of the high end guild raid bosses. As we get the same item drop rates from raids over really doing the map so there is no reason to not raid the map unless your going for kill quests. The costs of grading up a character are so tedious with such low drop rates that it may take 5 days and 300 energy just to get 9 of 1 item to be part of an upgrade. The entire game is a time kill grind fest. Do not get me wrong I still enjoy the game but there are days and weeks where everything in it feels like a job. Its not just needing the rewards for these game modes to be updated but I should have better drop rates for not raiding a mission over raiding it.
Damn that hot take was too much brah, unsubscribed. Seriously though, saying this as someone who has only played a few months, I am also already bored of Onslaught and Salvage. I only do Salvage for the Xenos quest steps that can't be done because there's no campaign for them (Tyranid, Genestealers) and they'd get dissolved in Arena otherwise.
