Sonic Galactic eye tracking gameplay | Project Iris
Amazing fan made Sonic game you can download a lengthy demo of for both Windows and MacOS. Played hands free with my Tobii 4C eye tracker and the software Project Iris. I blink to jump and look at the interactors to go left/right and hold the down key for spinning.

Eye blinks in Mill Mouse is still a bit slow to react (it will improve, that's what I've heard from the dev) so for now I had to use Project Iris for that in conjunction with MM. New version of Mill Mouse, new improvements. Check the website and updated manual for details. We got the ability to emulate an Xbox Controller with Eye tracking some time ago and I find it really useful. Gamepad button mappings are more consistent between games than keyboard keys so I find it easier not having to create new profiles for each new game.

Oh man I remember playing sonic when I was young this brings back memories I'm about to attempt to play Yakuza like a dragon see how far I can get if I can play it at all not afraid to try like I was before lol if anything I'll watch some of your guides they're very helpful wishing you the best man
Try to play osu! Maybe even with just relax mode(so you dont need to click on keyboard). Really want to see how accurate this eye tracker and if it is even possible to play with it.
@@sashaouss6894 I'm up for one challenge ha ha
Hadn't heard anything about Osu earlier. I tested it now and I can say that it's not an accuracy test, it's more a question of speed and rythm. I cranked up the pointer speed to maximum in Mill Mouse and that isn't enough for this game really. No problems at all pointing at the large circles, Mill Mouse has an accuracy enough to pinpoint the smallest of elements, like those you'll find in a video editor software. In my experience though both speed and accuracy is totally enough for a single player shooter like Borderlands 3. And that is the point with Mill Mouse for me, it makes most mainstream games accessible to me and if it's not up for the challenge with something like Osu is quite irrelevant as a metric imho. And you should know that I totally suck on anything rhythm based.
Pressing keys in Shenmue QTE and the similar sequences in Final Fantasy VII Remake is totally doable with the on screen overlay of both Project Iris and Mill Mouse. Osu tested the mouse pointer speed of Mill Mouse
How accurate is your blink to it responding would you say? Great job.
@@OneSwitch pretty much immediate reaction as far as I can tell

OBJECTION! Even if his name holds any merit in court... Which it really can't since it's usually unrelated... That name doesn't really exclude the possibility that the witness saw it Because he was the one murdering the victim!
Hey man thought of you and decided to stop by glad you're playing something you like I got Google Play pass so I'm playing phone games with eye tracker all right have a good one
Hi, Thank you for the video! Do you have any idea how to eye control Nintendo-Switch games with mill mouse?
With the Titan One adapter Mill Mouse can control a Nintendo Switch, I will do a video on this if I can borrow a Switch in the future. Another alternative that is more expensive and bulky is the Hori Flex Controller that you have to connect to both your Switch and PC and then it has this software that let's you use eye tracking on your computer to control the Switch. Hori doesn't support voice commands or facial gestures though. Both solutions need an hdmi capture card if you want the console content displayed on your pc monitor. Nintendo Switch doesn't have any mirroring or Remote play features, we can only hope Nintendo Switch 2 will have something like that when it releases in spring.
Thanks for your answer. That would be very nice if you could make a video of the Titan One-Adapter. My son uses the Hori flex Controller and a PC to play Switch games eye controlled. But it is nit very comfortable.
Hi, when you record the video, were you using the eye tracker to move the mouse? If so what software do you use to move the mouse? It seems very accurate from the recording.
Mill Mouse. I was recording a virtual computer in Vbox when doing the first part of the video (notice different background in Windows)
Also Tobii Windows Control 2 was running, i like the eye tracking keyboard it provides (Mill Mouse doesn't have one, you have to use it with the Windows on screen keyboard or something else like i do)
@@adaptivehackerkhan Is Mill Mouse that accurate using the default settings or do you use any specific settings to make it accurate?
@@quoc6072 no special settings. Just adjust how fast you want the pointer speed in the Mill Mouse settings, I usually have it two points from maximum and lower to like four points from maximum (11 points available from slowest to fastest) to do stuff like 3d design. For mouse look in games i adjust the Mill Mouse pointer speed according to how fast default is in game and if it's adjustable in the game settings.

hey i use a tobii dynavox and was wondering how to set up vjoy with millmouse I was thinking about trying out a game like diablo 4 through a side laptop strong enough to run it.
that's great! Refer to the Mill Mouse manual . I might do a tutorial late this year
i like it but what is the point and is it expensive and easy to do? would love to consider this
In your opinion has mill Mouse surpassed project Iris yet I think once this computer dies I will switch to mill Mouse it looks like it's getting better and better over time
Project Iris is still a bit more responsive which I've found is important in precision platformers like Rayman 1 (Redemption) which I'm playing now (I absolutely must use my two physical switches for going left / right, while I jump by blinking). Shortcuts set to toggle especially has this delay and that's a problem even in open world and rpg games, but I'm confident he will fix that particular issue. So I'd say for 3d games Mill Mouse is soon just as good as Project Iris. The Xbox Controller emulation is where Mill Mouse really has an advantage, since you don't need to change your setup that much between games. Then it has voice commands included and also facial gestures via webcam or smartphone. It also has head tracking. And of course it's also free, that is an advantage. At the same time Project Iris does have features Mill Mouse doesn't and may not get, it's unsure I mean. You can write Macros so the Interactors can do pretty much whatever you want if you can write the macro. And there's also a feature where you can select /highlight an Interactor and then activate it by a keyboard, that also means you can activate it by eye blinks. So a single switch or eye blink can perform several different actions depending on what Interactor is selected. All in all it's complex, both softwares have their own strength and might cater to different user. If you're a head tracking user then Mill Mouse is definitely the software for you. And the mouse control offered in Mill Mouse is excellent while the one in Project Iris is very much neglected in my opinion and for me it's far from a complete solution for desktop control. I mean obviously Mill Mouse is far more complex, like a Swiss army knife if you will, but Project Iris performs it's task really good and the macro function is very useful if you're well versed in basic macro writing (which I'm a bit lacking, although I've written a couple catered to my needs after some reading and tinkering).
raymind me to never play precision platformers again, it's torture lol
@@adaptivehackerkhan I really appreciate the response you sound very intelligent I'll use project Iris for precision Platformers if I do play any I just stick to simple games yeah they both have their Pros and cons but it sounds like mill has a lot of Pros you have plenty of videos I can learn from to use it right now I'm playing dead Age 2

Hmm, Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis is free and mouse based on PC, you could potentially use a mouse even on the smartphone versions. I played it a little on iPhone with Switch Control but there's a lot of menus and i would rather play it on pc. I might return to it in a year or so.

Hello, I have ALS and I am bedridden, so I bought the Tobii Eye Tracker 5 device, but it could not detect my eyes properly while lying down, is your device the same or slightly different, do you have any information about how to use this device while lying down?
Your best shot is asking the Assistive Technology group on Facebook or the Adaptive Power Gamers group on Facebook. Also Reddit has a good community called Disabledgamers. I haven't used eye tracking laying down but I do know that people do it. I can say that Tobii eye tracker 5 is slower than Tobii 4C because this new one also have head tracking and a normal webcam alongside the infrared eye tracking, but that is not necessarily the challenge here i think.

The bar needs to be inline with your eyes. We use a gas spring monitor desk arm ($30ish) to rotate and tilt the monitor perpendicular to your gaze). Be sure to calibrate the eye tracker as you adjust the screen. The Tobii 5 is very slow though since the license caps the gaze sampling rate to 30Hz.

Might squeeze in a demo gameplay of Fallout though, I might be too faint hearted for a full playthrough anyways :) I've not done too many fps shooters in my life and I still haven't fully figured out how to play them effectively hands free. Though the implementation of facial gestures in Mill Mouse might make it a whole lot easier. Hey awesome tutorial I've been looking for a while for something like I have DMD so I can't use my hands for anything sorry for the life story. I just wanted to ask what your main eyegaze software is as mine is quite limited in what it can do.
What software do you have? You should try out Mill Mouse, it's free. It has everything: gaze controlled mouse pointer, gaze access to basic stuff like Win key and volume up/down, eye gaze gaming overlay similar to Project Iris, voice commands and facial gestures is also coming. I use Mill Mouse in conjunction with my old Tobii Windows Control software. I'm in the process of abandoning Project Iris and Voiceattack, I will probably use just Mill Mouse for gaming in the future. I'm in contact with the developer Yuki Yamada and he's implementing feature requests nearly every month. By the end of this year Mill Mouse will do everything Project Iris does as good as Iris does and also cover everything Voiceattack does and also what Project Gameface does. The thing I like with Tobii Windows Control is the Keyboard and that it's built so that you first select a mouse action and in the next step execute the action by looking at the point it should click, double click or whatever. The latter is a good complement to the direct cursor control of Mill Mouse. Right now it also makes sense running two eye tracking softwares simultaneously in case one crashes, it's a backup system.
