I've watched so many reviews on the soundbar and no one ever talks about the surround sound effect. Nobody says if it's good or not?? They just play a demo and then move on. My current living situation doesn't allow me to have rear speakers so I'm wondering if how the 5.1 is on this bar. Can anyone talk about how movies sound on this? I understand it's not "true" surround....but wondered just how it replicates it. I currently bought a Samsung b650 and was thinking about buying the surround speakers for it. I have a dog and would worried that she would constantly try to bite them so I have to take them down every time I watch a movie....too much hassle . This is why I'm considering a 5.1 bar. It would bring it up to the same price as the JBL 500. Any thoughts? I'm happy with the bass response from my Samsung so I really want to know more about the 5.1 effects over the sub. That's all anyone ever talks about when it comes to the soundbar. I know the base is going to sound better...10 inch over 6. Can anyone attest to the surround effects with movies? Does the fake Atmos actually sound decent? Does Dolby digital surround sound ok? Thank you!

We have the Alpha 2 also and suddenly we have no music playing. We can pick songs, we hear the numbers and the applause, but there is no music and no voice. I know the mics are connected because i can control the unit with them. Tech support told me to reset but that didn't work. They want us to bring it to service center but we are not in the Philippines so that's a no go. Any ideas? Thanks

is it also possible to back up the contents on the hard disk on pc? and to use the back up to create a new hard drive for the player? and can i use any brand of ssd other than western digital?
