another thing they do great is FULLY removing gameplay from money, the VRs (let you unlock everything gameplay-wise) are unable to be purchased with real money, and thus the speed at which you get them is balanced around fun and not around gouging money

man Finals and Warframe have the best mtx ever, because warframe literally gives you random discounts when you log in (25-75%) which arent even rare, and to be honest, finals cosmetics are way too good to be sold for that price. other companies should take notes of smaller devs like digital extremes and embark lmao

I think this ignores the biggest points to be honest, in how you don’t actually have to spend money to get the cosmetics you like. There are many ways to get free coins, and if you saved up for long enough you could afford the premium battle pass to get into a cycle of having a comfortable coin income without spending anything at all. Now it’s not possible to have bought all the cosmetics just with free coins, but just about any specific setup of cosmetics on a character, could be done. And of course, there are lots of free cosmetics which many games don’t have.
