It’s always the American companies ruining the British shows

I personally think Thomas merchandise peaked in the early-late 2000s. There were SO many great toys being released at that time. They were just overflowing with great stuff. The shelves were filled with Thomas toys that everyone loved and still loves to this day. The show was mid, but the toys were fantastic. Mattel creating the new wooden railway line was a good move, but they completely dropped the ball with it and basically forgot it existed. If they had kept it alive with new characters being released consistently, the merchandise may have seen a revival in current times. But unfortunately it seems they didn’t care, and we’re currently in the same place we were 3 years ago.

Well, the episode is a good one. The UK version is much better, no delayed audio. Call me old-fashioned, but while this Season 3 episode has its rhyme and reason, I prefer Thomas' Christmas Party from Season 1, with Ringo Starr singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" at the end, and Thomas & the Missing Christmas Tree from Season 2. On the whole, I have only two words by way of summing it up: merry Christmas.

Thomas and the magic railroad will always be my favorite Thomas and Friends childhood movie! I also got the Thomas and the magic railroad DVD.

There was more playability in older TWR sets. I think that’s a reason that they stand out more. For example, the set with Thomas and James has lots of life to it. There are some coaches so the engines have something to do. There are a few mini figures for the engines to interact with. There’s some scenery (buildings, trees, and railway signs), and there are some non-rail crafts. I can see a child having hours of fun with that. Compared to a later figure 8 set, said set is lackluster. It lacks buildings (besides the coal hopper, if that counts), humans, other scenery, or any life really. It’s just a generic 8 with two trains.

I've been watching TTTE youtube for 13 years but I've only been on twitter x for 6. i'm not as qualified to talk about this as others but more than ever i see people tweeting about drama in the fandom without thinking about who is causing the drama. neutrality is my getaway from drama

Another thing I love about season 7 is the Skarloey railway engines get more episodes since this is the last classic season.

This is the first season to have Robert Hartshorne do music for Thomas and Friends and the last classic season to have Mike and Junior do music for Thomas and Friends. Although I'll always love Mike and Junior's music but I also love Robert Hartshorne's music too and I could understand why they want him to make music in season 7 before the Hit Era it's possible they want to test his music first before the Hit Era to see if he's good or not. Another reason why because since the Hit Era is a new era for Thomas and Friends they would also want some new type of music.

I love some of the new characters in season 7 because of there personalities and designs except for Murdoch although his design is nice and I love his theme in the UK dub.

In my opinion Emily was better in season 7 then season 8.

My first exposure to season 7 was the US dub of Oliver the snow engine that was the only season 7 episode I watched on one of my Thomas and Friends DVDs when I was younger. I had no idea about the UK dub until I watched some of the season 7 episodes on TH-cam both the UK and US dub.

What really bothers me is that before AEG, Mattel couldn’t be bothered to do anything with characters people actually wanted to see, yet now they act like they’re trying. Duck and Oliver fell out of favor just a couple years after their reintroduction, Donald and Douglas only had two episodes after their return, and characters like Toby and Henry were horribly butchered. But now that the show is at a point where hardly anyone cares about it, they decide to try and do interesting things with nothing characters like Whiff, have Toby be randomly in character, and bring back the Caledonians just to keep the illusion that they know what they’re doing. But Henry and Edward are still MIA from the reboot (no, I don’t count background cameos). I remember how excited I was during the Brenaissance when classic characters started returning, yet the merchandise kept getting worse, and Mattel couldn’t be bothered to produce new merchandise for characters that everyone wanted to see such as Duck. But no matter what happens, I will always treasure my childhood years spent watching a quality show about trains and playing with quality toys of trains.

There was literally no energy put into season six at all and have the episodes had plots that were already explored in earlier plus as 7 season did have some issue but honestly they tried a little harder with season 7

I agree. Boco is on top of most fans lists of wanting to return as well as Stepney and Duke. However, this'll never happen because Mattel thinks returning characters are inferior and that there's too many male characters. That's probably why Andrew Brenner left. They only want to focus on the Steam Team and new characters. Plus, they deem the Skarloey, the Arlesdale, and (despite never appearing) even the Culdee Fell engines as pointless, obscure, and unmarketable. Which is why after Season 20, we never got any episodes that focus on them.

I am aware to why in our dub they made it Thanksgiving and not Christmas. But I wish they had made the real version as well. The problem is that it was used in a Thanksgiving episode for Shining Time Station. It kinda sounds dumb because some episodes were only watchable through VHS. Also, restored episodes have problems, so many, in fact, that some are just better without brighter colors.

What did I just watch..........

I would put a fouth line of take along/ take and play but every single character gets the good builds, from 2013 and before, not when bulky magnets came about

the simple movies yearly, not like what they did in 2015 with 2 movies to mix it up and mess the work time line and a huge movie every 5 years is good

the airing should be on treehouse where new stuff comes on at 6 on the weekends in a 2 hour block and 7 on weeknights for an hour and in the day time show old stuff in the morning block and afternoon. the nick jr stuff too
