#71 Mini Warmutt Great Mini Painting Challenge - January 2024 reveal
Not had any videos up for this project, but have been slowly chipping away at this for Mini Warmutt's January paint challenge. 40 minis done, all 28mm, mix of manufacturers. This gives me everything I need to play all of the released scenarios for Warriors of Athena, a frostgrave mini-campaign written by Joseph A McCullough and published in WSS magazine. I'll have some videos up covering this game as soon as I can.

#58 Channel Update - new channel focus
มุมมอง 2462 ปีที่แล้ว
Update regarding my intentions for the channel focus moving into 2023. Look out for more updates coming soon! One thing I didn't mention, is that I have upgraded my internet speed, so should be able to upload videos more regularly. This video took 3 minutes to upload, where previously it would've taken hours. Hopefully that means I can get some long-form battle reports out soon. My Ko-fi (suppo...

#42 Kings of War: Armada - new project and channel update
I also am starting 10mm nappys, also looking at soldiers of and black powder and esr and laselle and shako 2 and general de birgade. And I’m at a total loss of how best I should base them to fit these rulesets or if I’m going to have to make some hard choices
How long to paint?
Think these took just over a week. Not the most complicated of paint schemes.
@@DuncanFx Thank you, what size mdf bases are those if you don't mind me asking?
Great stuff, Duncan! the figures look great from here. I hope you have fun playing the Frostgrave scenario.
Belated thanks, dude. No chance to try it yet, but hoping to get it to the table soon.
Very nice work Duncan! The snakes are really cool! Thank you for taking the challenge again! Have a great weekend! 👍👍
Belated thanks, Warmutt. Thanks for running the challenge again. Was nice to have some outside motivation driving this project.
Looking good, especially the skels!
Thank you kindly.
All glorious work duncan
Cheers, dude.
Cracking work on those Duncan, little challenges like this is a good way to get projects done and on the table. 👍
Thank you! Yeah, I'm lacking a regular opponent at the moment, so external motivation like this helps to push through projects like this.
Well done, Duncan! Fantastic work! Love the statues!
Thank you!
Looking very nice Duncan. Have a real retro vibe to them.
Cheers, dude!
I love the concept of these round bases! What base size are you using for the infantry/cavalry and the artillery? I am also curious for the base size of your lion rampant units, which I might use my samurai figures.
Belated thanks! The bases for both these 10mm and my 28mm lion rampant armies were 80mm rounds. I've seen 60mm used to similar effect.
@@DuncanFx Thank you for your answer!
Awesome job! I've signed up for the next painting challenge myself, January 2024.
Cheers!
Nice work on these I like the red color scheme.
Very belated thanks! I like the contrast of the red and green a lot. Best of the orky clan colours in my opinion. And go faster (so I'm told)...
Nicely painted squad of Boyz.
Thank you, kindly. Hoping to augment them with some more soon!
very nice work!!
Thank you kindly.
Well done! Amazingly clean colors. Fantastic work!
Cheers, thank you! Was good to have the community motivation to finally get these done. Very pleased with them.
Nice and clean work! Well done!
Thank you, kindly.
Cool
Cheers!
Well done mate they look great.
Thank you, Paul. I'm very pleased with how they turned out.
They look gnarly, man! Gotta love Ork Boyz. Always fun to see.
Thanks, dude. More to come if I can keep the momentum up.
This is a great looking squad mate. Brilliant work on da boyz
Thank you, Callum. Really pleased with how they turned out.
ALRIGHT!!! The boyz look great! I really dig the color choice! I call this a success! Happy to hear this challenge gave you a boost in painting more than you normally do. Take care and have a great weekend!
Cheers, dude. Thank you again for the inspiration to get focused for the month. Helped a lot to have the community motivation behind me.
A very nice looking unit.Congratulations on completing the challenge well done.🐒🐻🤗👍
Thank you very much!
Gorgeous work
Cheers, dude.
I really dig these Orks! Very cool color choice! Keep at it!
Thanks, dude. Wanted to keep the colour scheme simple and clean. I'll ork-it-up at some point later. :D
Beautiful work there mate
Cheers, dude.
Lovely colours
Thank you, kindly.
Looking fab m8.
Cheers, dude.
Great job. I think my total on the month is somewhere around eleven or twelve.
Thank you! Still an admirable final tally. Not all of us can hit the hundreds of minis that other do.
@@DuncanFxJust hobbying most every day is its own reward. I'm about halfway through where I wanted to be on the month, and now it's Halloween/Orktober.
Those are really nice. Cheers.
Thank you!
Congrats on the 400 subs! Well earned. The orks are looking good, the black lining is really effective.
Thank you very much. Yeah, these lend themselves well to black lining.
Love the look of these Orks! Congratultions on the 400 subs!
Cheers, dude!
Congratulations on the subs Duncan and really enjoying your progress on this project 😁👍
Thank you! I'm enjoying painting these far more than I thought I would. They've been on the shelf for so long, I thought they'd end up in the sale pile.
These chaps are coming on well mate. Congrats on the 400 subs!
Cheers, dude!
Looking cool, and 400 subs 😎
Thank you very much!
Looking good mate.
Cheers, dude!
Lovely progress, and congratulations on hitting 400 subs
Thank you! Took a while, but finally there! :)
Some great progress! Keep it up! Congrats on 400 subs!
Thank you very much!
Great progress. Lovely work. Yes it was bad weather last week for painting.
Cheers, dude. Yeah, was not ideal. Always seems to be the way, too hot when you want to paint and too wet when you need to spray prime outside.
Oi, dem's 'umies are goin' to be mezzen dem selves afta see'n dem ork boys when ya done wif 'em!
Cheerz!
"Ere we go!" Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Thank you! Has been slow going so far, but think I'm on target for the month.
Nice to see an update in my sub box but I’m sorry to hear you all had a rough time of it over the summer. Hopefully everyone is healed and happy now. Really nice work on the July and August models. I’ve been playing KoW at the Ambush level over the summer and it plays quickly though quite differently to the larger version of the game. We’ve also just started in on Armada properly for the Shadowed Horizons campaign. It’s another game I can see us really digging into over the rest of the year. As usual, lovely work. On the Warmaster scaled orcs, such a great scale to work on.
Thank you for the kind words. Still a little tough here, but settling down and hopefully no more surprises or emergencies. Think I'll give KoW a go soon. I don't have the Ambush rules, but as far as I know, they're not different to the main rules, except in the force building, right? I've only played Armada a little unfortunately, but it is fun.
Looks like a set of figures you can happily get done and achieve your goal. Looking forward to your progress
Cheers, dude. Hoping the modest target will keep me motivated without any panic as the deadline approaches. Hope you're well, by the way. Pleased to see your training going well.
Great video! Man, when it rains, it pours sometimes. Glad all are on the mend! Nice work. Keep at it! Thank you for joining in on the challenge, too! I look forward to the end of the month to see all the miniature wargaming goodness!
Indeed it does, but I'm ready for a break from it all now! Thanks for the kind words and the shout out for taking part. Hoping my modest target will mean I can get it all done in time. Cheers!
no worries@@DuncanFx
You got this mate
Thank you, Justin! Hoping the modest target will be achievable.
Hope all is ok now Duncan. It sounds like a complete nightmare. Great painting on the Orcs and Dwarves. Look forward to seeing your orks.
Thanks, Paul. Yeah, fingers crossed for no more surprises for a while. Hoping this challenge will get me motivated to not only paint more regularly, but also to post regularly too.
Wicked work on the Warmaster Orks & your Awesome mantic dwarfs. Good luck with your challenge.
Thanks, dude. Good luck on your entry too, I'll be watching keenly. Hope you're well.
супер!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers!
They are looking great ! I really like your approach to the project. good stuff.
Thank you, dude. Took a lot of inspiration from your project-prep/army-planning videos you did a while back. Hoping I can get back to these sometime soon, too.
Excellent decision on the highlights. I ended up using white undercoat, thin paint and then a wash. Looks good en masse for a ‘campaign’ effect, not so good if you prefer a ‘parade’ look.
Thank you! 10mm does lend itself to such diverse approaches to painting. Part of what makes it so appealing.
