BIKC Crawley Local Final - How Have I Done This?

For my first ever BIKC entry, i'm quite pleased with being able to qualify to the semi-finals! I qualified 2nd out of 24 other drivers, but had a sub-optimal kart in the race. That and not the best start meant i went to 4th, and finished in 4th! Albeit with a little squabble! 5 min quali with only one clean lap resulted in an almost randomised grid. My kart was pretty bad, with it being slow on some laps, and fast on others, but overall happy with 9th to 6th even with some poorer drivers! #motorsport #karting #racing

This was in the 270cc karts, and my brother doesn't appear until the end of the session. The seat in the kart even with the insert was way too big and I couldn't focus on racing because I was trying to keep myself in the kart. this was also my first time there, and I did pretty good with a 44.653. #motorsport #karting #racing

The format is a qualifying round followed by 2 heats and a final. The 2 heats determine where you start the final by adding the position where you came and whoever has the least points starts first. This was a members 342 night and I was the fastest there, I got a best of 43.112 but could have easily snagged a 42 if in the 3rd session there wasn't traffic. I could have got one in this session as well but my kart was a little wonky, if you pause right at the 00:44 mark you can see the steering wheel is a little wonky even though I'm going straight. This was on Monday 15/7/24. had a understeery kart in quali which I always seem to have for some reason??? but I made it up in the race to go from p11 to p5! Hero 9 Black was used, however I still think I need to tweak the settings more as there was some noise in the dark areas. I think a min iso would compensate for that, but this was my onboard! #motorsport #karting #racing

Sorry for both the poor quality and the poor editing, recorded on the Hero 5 Session and edited, well poorly? This was on speed 3 on a kart that didn't feel as up to pace as any other kart i've driven, even though i got a pb in it? #teamsportkarting #teamsportcrawley #karting #motorsport

Thanks! I do think it's funny how I always seem to be behind him, even when I qualify on the front row, I ruin the start and he's there 😂

Hey there, Did you complete intermediate to do this race or can you do it during intermediate?
This race was done in the intermediate section of the Race Academy. Which means you don't have to complete intermediate, just be in intermediate. Hope this helps!

@harrypowerracingg I was so much faster though, either I hit him and pass legally or lose tons of time avoiding a collision and never make the move. the choice is pretty obvious since I'm faster than everyone I overtook.

Was just trying to get past after a few laps of defending, tried to barge my way through but didn't work! 😬 in my defence he had a very awkward way of defending and did kinda brake check me
It wasn't this guys fault. The guy who he was trying to overtake saw he was going to go on the inside and he would've felt Marco's kart as he turned in and he could've given space
