TH-cam Channel of my danceblog, SalsaSelfie.com. I am from Denmark next to you on the dance floor.
I hope I can inspire other dancers to be themselves, to be proud of your own social dance no matter the level and your abilities.
We should all take charge of our own dance and learning process in order to develop our own exact dance style that works the best for us. Let us be Masters of our own styles.
I promote social dancing as Every Day Life, “social dancing for the rest of us”, more street dance and fitness than party and ball room, more training than show and self-promotion.
I want to reinvent Casino not as a Cuban Look-A-Like, but as I want to dance within the tradition in my context as a Scandinavian. I try to be as textbook as possible, well-formed and optimized, to keep it simple, because it serves ordinary dancers the best.
I hope that my videos will be used by individual dancers as well as by dance schools.
Happy Dancing

86. Dile Que No con Coca-Cola under arm with Lead’s Paseo step. Cuban Salsa. Rueda de Casino
More tutorials at my danceblog www.SalsaSelfie.com.
*** Dile Que No con Coca-Cola under the arm with Lead's Paseo steps ***
The classic Coca-Cola left turn is done as the last half of Dile Que No, on "5-6-7", around the Lead. The classic way to proceed is for the Lead to add another Dile Que No and bring the Follow into the start position of Open Position. But we have many alternative ways to do Coca-Cola turns from Dile Que No.
One of my favorite ways to do Coca-Cola from Dile Que No starts like the classic DQN and Coca-Cola around the Lead. But instead of adding another Dile Que No, I like for the Lead to walk under the arm holding the Follow with a left-to-right hand-grip. As the Lead walks under the arm on "1-2-3" he should turn around.
There are three good ways for the Lead to walk under the arm on "1". The Lead can use:
1. Lead's Paseo Walk steps (the focus of this tutorial).
2. Lead's Casino Clásico steps.
3. Lead's Cruzado Lateral steps.
A Lead should always step in specific, recognizable patterns with a name, easy to recreate. One day the Lead will naturally fall into one of these patterns in new or less known situations by pure body memory, instead of just stepping random homegrown junk.
* Lead's Paseo Walk Steps *
When starting a Paseo Walk, the Lead steps forward on "1" and "2", pivots around on "2" and steps back on "3" and "5" in order for the Follow to pass by him very similar to a Cross Body Lead, and the the Lead steps forward again on "6-7". When stepping under the arm after Coca-Cola, only the Lead is stepping Paseo Walk steps, the Follow just steps forward as she is led.
* Easy and Relaxed *
When a Lead is doing DQN con Coca-Cola with the intention of bringing the Follow around him the classic way, and he senses that the Follow is far away from turning on a curved line and will never get around him with style, then the Lead can rescue the Coca-Cola by walking under the arm, bringing the Follow in front of him as an easier alternative.
Stepping under the arm gives us a relaxed figure, and just like I show it in the video, it works very well to do the figure three times in a row with short intervals in between. We would almost never see the classic DQN con Coca-Cola used the same way.
But the classic Coca-Cola on a curved line is necessary for doing Coca-Cola Doble and Coca-Cola Triple.

Hi I have just discovered two new meanings of Dile Que Si in the Salsa Steps APP. They call Dile Que No into Open Position and immediately into “forward and back”: Dile Que Si Open. And they call Dile Que No into Open Position and immediately into “Forward and Back” in Closed Position: Dile Que Si Closed. Keep Dancing Jesper Tverskov SalsaSelfie.com
Ok, but what exactly would be the real Dile que Sí so?
A barebone sequence of getting the follow back from 'open' position into close embrace
Thank you for this collection. Great for casino lovers
Most if these come from Austrian German Swiss folk dances. In German they are called wickeln (plural). For originals, see video categories like “Austrian (German, Swiss) folk dances” “”Landler dance” Main 1 of these (Sound of Music)

Hi, can you add footage were you execute the turn solo in full view
Thanks for feedback. I was thinking of adding full view of the Textbook version but decided that it was enough to show the dance example in normal speed as well as in slow motion. I also wanted not to make the video longer than necessary. I am planning more videos about the subject. Especially about how to continue after the Hook Turn, how really to integrate it into your dance, and about alternative ways of getting into the start position. I also know of at least two other techniques for how to do the Double Hook Turn (not shown in my video) and it could be interesting to make a video showing how other Leads actually do it in their own videos. But all of this must wait to other videos in the future, when I have enough good material to share. Cheers Jesper Tverskov SalsaSelfie.com
Why do you refer to "Cuban Salsa" and then "Rueada De Casino"? Why not "Rueda De Cuban Salsa"? Or just junk the marketing term "Cuban Salsa" and call it by its real name, Casino?
CUBAN CASINO HACI SE LLAMA. SALSA LE LLAMAN PUERTO RICO Y COLOMBIA ?
😢
hard to imagine anything more insipid. And, how come "Cuban Salsa" and "Rueda De Casino"? Why not "Rueda De Cuban Salsa"? 🤔
First of all the dance shouldn't be called Salsa, it's Casino. Secondly, whoever taught you did a terrible job. Unless you have some sort of physical disability you shouldn't dance like this, the technique is really bad, the way you walk, the hand placement, everything is in very bad shape. Maybe try to learn from the guy who created this method, it's pretty clear you are trying to replicate the Casino produced by the MCC method.
Thank you so much 🙏 Jesper to share your experience and tips 👍
Smooth 👌🏼
Azuuuuuuuuucar!!!
Esta vuelta me gusta mucho
this channel is amazing! please keep uploading!
You made my day!
Is it a turn for leaders or followers ?
For Follows mostly. But Leads can also use them in walks but that is rare. I do but just a little normally on “1” at the start of a Paseo walk. But Leads should at least train the Follow’s step in order to get a better understanding of when to use Spiral Turns and how to lead them.
I like this combo, very nice, I do a version of this myself - Coca-Cola - Exhibela+Habanero. Lots of other chaining possibilities here, which U are probably aware of : CC - Rodeo Inverso, CC - Paseala por Atras, CC - DQN No-Hacia Fuera.
Yes there are so many great ways to do and continue Coca-Cola most Leads are not even aware of. Almost uncharted water. I once did some statistics, analyzing how twenty advanced level Leads actually dance. Half of them didn’t even use left turns, Coca-Cola, once! I do all the time! Hope to explore this topic soon.
i like th second exit
I do both, but i never thought of combining these two moves together. Thanks for the videos
Yes, I also used them separately for many years. But one day I noticed the combination in the Casinando move, th-cam.com/video/BBzqsC06XrI/w-d-xo.html . And I said to myself: Why not use this great Coca-Cola/Exhíbela combination also outside Casinando.
Qué bueno. No hay edad para el baile.
❤ Thank you! Yes I am 71, and I strongly believe that we should keep on dancing, that we should find a style fit for our “age”, our technical level and abilities and be masters of our own dance.
Bravo! That's the spirit. Pastilla de menta. Agua!!
