It can bew done for 'ANY' Decoder type. In 7mm the bigger the speakers, the better the sounds. Charlie

Do away with the working fans, glue the Fan Mouldings under the grills ,then there is loads of room for 2and EM1 speaker OR 2 X 25X25X7 Speakers, but the sound levels need adjusting to suit this combination. We can fit and do all this for you. PM me on pacercharlie2@gmail.com.

@GoodfordModelRailway thank you! We are glad you like this sound. This is the Hornby 00 Gauge super detailed model with a weathering job done by GC Weathering, The speaker used was a double dumbo speaker inside the loco.

Out of interest did you use an existing class 50 In preservation to record the sounds or have you used audio from other sources?

Dugmer, the recordings are from 50042 at the Bodmin & Wenford Railway, made during a full-day’s private recording session. The engine sounds were done on the 1 in 40 bank with several coaches on the back. A number of new sounds and features have been added and the whole project brought up to my current standards, in readiness for whatever new models may be in the offing…

The Function list for all Legomanbiffo projects is i=-on our ordering pages, so it is there when tou order the decoders, it suggests downloading them, if you cannot access the list, e.mail me on pacercharlie2@gmain.com. The instruction sheet that comes with our decoders suggests doing a CV54=0 Motor calibration, this should help with these cheap Hornby motors. Charlie

Our standard 37 files have been tweeked to operate correctly in this model, if you understand how speakers work, then you know what to tweek !!!

@@legomanbiffosounds so the way forward then is to keep speakers as is and get decoder reblown - sounds like a plan. Surprised the windscreen wipers weren't operating when the rain was coming down 🙂

That is a good plan.

Will do at some point, but a bit busy reblowing Accurascale Class 37s as we speak.

@@legomanbiffosounds That’s great news, I hope you will have a sound file ready for the Accurascale class 66, I believe that there isn’t going to be a EM2 speaker fitted, I could be wrong, I got a sound file from you last year at the Great Electric Show for my Hatton ‘s class 66, it is superb and the bass is perfect.

The Class 66 has an EM1 and there own Sounds, so not as good as ours. Charlie

Pretty sure you are correct generator used to start not starter motor. Same as the 31s

30s also had V12 engines rather than a straight 6 as fitted to 37/9s

@@FM60260 Correct. Speaking to Fran from Accurascale, they have managed to find a genuine recording of the real thing. So I'll be getting their chip when it's released.

We apologise you had a poor experience with the 68 sound. Remember all our sounds are genuine and recorded off of real locomotives. Not all members of the class may sound exactly the same, we recommend having an EM2 or a more bassy speaker for our 68 sound as this picks out the bass a lot better and makes it sound less like quoted further above "A Steam Train"

Even replacement of the factory fitted speaker with an em1 didn't do it justice and two megabass speakers and a double iPhone speaker all tried in it didn't help either

Yes all our current projects have Drive Lock / Drive Hold. But the loco ie set up for extra thrash as standard. Thanks Charlie

The Website lists the Plux 22 decoders for fitting into all versions of the Bachmann Class 158 Units, sadly we do not stock models that are fitted with every decoder we supply, as that would be a little expensive!!! We can of course fit sounds and speakers into models that you have. Charlie

The wheelslip dos'nre cpme across in the movie, but was recorder at Wenslydale Railway and it does sound ok.

@@legomanbiffosounds it sounds different to the Wensleydale file. The West Highland file was done from 37175 at Bo'ness and the Wensleydale from 37674 if I recall, so both have different charachteristics being generator and alternator fitted examples. I'll have to listen to one in the flesh, but it doesn't sound like a rework of the Wensleydale file on the video. It would be good to get a soundfile from 37403 also, sounds very good in the flesh and would give another soundfile to add to the collection.

@@gf37419 We have a few new projects in the pipeline along with upgrades & new class 37s. The all new Class 91 & DVT is done so lookout for this in Hornby Magazine !!!

The wheel slip is 100% accurate and was recorded on the Wensleydale Railway, pleae bear in mind we now have 5 X Class 37 projects on offer. Charlie

I totally agree, we have a Hi Bass, a Mini Bass and the Bachmann Sugarcube in there, come to the Great Electric Train show at Milton Keynes and listen the our 'Pair' of the new Bachmann 37/4s working.
