I saw this movie so how did Lucio fulci do this part of the with out a premium did they did they build a other a now one so they can do it Rip Lucio fulci your friend wayne
I was a kid when it was released here in spain. I recall a saturday night with my family; i left them in the bar to watch the poster and the pictures at the cinema in front of the bar. They were so scaring i was fascinated by the pics
The film is good and the fact that they shot scenes in New York, and without a filming permit is also amazing. Still, the end scene kind of makes it hard to subvert reality when you see zombies walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, yet underneath them cars are politely driving by like it's mid-day traffic!
Tisa Farrow sure does look like her more famous sister, Mia! She had just as much, if not more screen presence as her as well. Her career took a different path, with Tisa becoming a cult classic favorite rather than an A-list stsr.
yeah thats some pretty crazy balding. for most of the movie the dude basically had shoulder length hair wrapped around his head carefully in a combover - any wind destroys the illusion though. people have commented on how its kinda distracting when watching the movie.
I loved this scene although I found the zombies getting into the news building gave me a giggle. It was just a matter of seconds between the zombies getting into the building to them getting to the news presenter.
This was the original Italian dubbed version of the final scene: "The situation here in New York since dawn last Friday when the first appearance of these strange beings was reported is worsening rapidly, boarding on total chaos. The National Guard which has been mobilized by the governor is loosing control of the situation. In every borough, from the Bronx to Brooklyn, Queens and even Coney Island, more and more sightings are being reported of these beings that, in spite of the barricades, are gathering and moving toward the center of the city of Manhattan. The governor has declared a state of national emergency.... citizens are abandoning their homes and running. A large group of them are said to be moving across the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan. A group of these beings are said to be outside the studio... this may be our very last new bulletin....."
Trivia facts: Over 100 extras were employed to play the bloody, newly dead zombies walking across the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan. On that day, it was cold with drizzling rain and the extras playing the zombies had to keep themselves from shivering. Also, the fake blood had some ammonia in it to stop it from changing color for the appearance on film. When it dripped into the actors' mouths, they would spit it out when the cameras stopped rolling. All of the extras playing zombies in the New York Brooklyn Bridge scene were locals who were paid $40 per day. The director Lucio Fulci spoke very little English, his only direction for the New York zombie extras was "like . . . ah . . . this!" Although a national state of emergency had been declared and the local radio station had been overrun by zombies, notice how the traffic below still flows freely in both directions. This was due to budgetary constraints - there was not enough money to stop traffic on the bridge.
Hell, I damn wish the movie was re-released with the cars digitally removed, leaving the road empty or have cgi cars looking abandoned or as if they crashed into each other..
I always loved how in spite of being told every borough in the city has been over run with zombies & the national guard cant control the situation, there's chaos - the traffic is still coming & going in an orderly way in & out of Manhattan, it may be a zombie apocalypse, but folks still need to get to work.
Damn that's a dedicated reporter.
What an amazing ending, such a great film.
This is way better than the Walking Dead...
Should of done a 3rd movie about surviving the apocalypse in New York

Zombie that gets held back: Hey! I'm walkin' here!!
It was my father took me watching this movie drive in when I was 11

Mr. Fulci had to do the bridge scene on one take as he had no permit to do so, and on one take it became an iconic scene of "Zombie", kudos Mr. Fulci.

They didn't have permission to close the bridge during filming so they had to make do.
Die Musik gruselt einen schon.
Walked over this bridge last week. Great filming and music:-)
That was Raccoon City at First Resident Evil.
"Honey...you'll never guess what I saw on the bridge on my drive home from work. What's for dinner? I'm starving."
First time i was terrified as a kid thinking this was based on true events, even got to see my first pair of titt*es in this film, such good times🥳
sequel is known as night of the zombies or Zombi 3
When I saw it it was just called Zombie
It's the end of human civilization....just ignore the traffic.
I've always loved the radio reporter because he literally just sat there basicaly documenting his own death instead of trying to run away 😂😂😂😂
So how the hell do you kill these zombies ?
Destroy the brain
The white shirt Actor starts the movie with a full head of hair The further along the movie goes the less hair he's got 👱🧑🦲

0:47 Howard Dean is the newsreader.
Awesome music.
The best zombie movie in my opinion
Only thing scarier than a zombie apocalypse for me now is an IRS audit
RIP Tisa Farrow
That music leaves you hopless.
Das ist einfach nur episch! Danke Lucio Fulci ❤❤❤
Smart man I grew up watching this movie
Imagine being one of the drivers making your morning commute then you see zombies on the walkway of the bridge not knowing a movie was being made
I like how the zombies do not cause any problems for commuters. Still is a haunting image.
The cars just going about their business on the bridge😂
Small budget
man if we ever did have zombies, I could only pray they would move like this, slow and easy to kill or trap. Not fast and crazy.

And now...THE DEMOCRAPS!

the guys hair is scarier than the zombies.
👍
punk rockers be on the right side heading into the carnage
New York gets taken over by zombies, but traffic is still bad.
