Really Tall Tree Guy
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 12 ก.พ. 2022
A collection of videos from trees I have climbed while working for a local residential tree service. Im not going to pretend that I'm perfect and dont make mistakes, and as such my videos reflect that.
This is not a how to channel, and as such do not do what you see in this video at home or without professional supervision and training.
I try to upload twice a week on Monday and Thursday at 12:00 PM EST

Removing a dying maple close to house
This maple had been in decline for a while, when the customer decided to give us a call. While normally I would have bombed out most of this, if not dumped the tree whole, The customer was particular about her grass, and as such we made an attempt to minimize the damage to the lawn.

The WORST way to prune a tree
มุมมอง 2.5K14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
This customer didn't want any part of this maple to be on or over their property. As such we had to remove half of it, which in the long term will almost certainly be bad for the tree.
Removing a tree with some interesting observers
มุมมอง 3.8Kวันที่ผ่านมา
This was certainly a first for me. I have never removed a tree that was both embedded in a fence, and in view of about a hundred dogs. Overall the tree wasn't too difficult, while it had a very limited drop zone overall it was fairly simple.
MONSTER pine with a HUGE drop zone
มุมมอง 7Kวันที่ผ่านมา
This was a pretty chunky pine that we did about a year ago. luckily there was plenty of room to just bomb everything. Unfortunately there was a miss communication which resulted in me having to climb it twice.
How much easier can a tree be?
มุมมอง 3.7K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
This was the final pine at this job-site, and the easiest by far. I rigged down the branches that needed it, and then after bombing out a good sized top sent the wood all down into the yard.
Wobbly 95' sweet-gum over a service line
มุมมอง 2.8K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
This sweet-gum dropped a top a number of months ago, and hit the customers car and the crepe myrtle under it. It was a little interesting setting up my tie in and the rigging because it was not perfectly straight, but corkscrewed a bit.
No drop-zone is not a problem....
มุมมอง 6K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
This pine was pretty annoying. there was next to no drop-zone. Because of that we had to be very careful and meticulous in our rigging.
How to change climbing spikes.

A bit of a different video today, but I needed to change the gaffs on my climbing spikes, and figured that I would show how to do it.
(RAW) 8 easy but fun trees

The raw unedited video of some trees that were pretty simple, yet at the same time a fun change of pace from the typical big weird ones that I typically do. It was seven pine trees and a sweet gum
A nice start to the week by bombing (almost) everything
มุมมอง 6Kหลายเดือนก่อน
These two pines were a lot of fun despite the overcast that day. The customer was tired of the roots pushing the pavers, so the trees needed to go. They wanted about a 6 foot pole in order to carve a totem pole out of.
Removing a stone dead maple
มุมมอง 3.8Kหลายเดือนก่อน
This was the second tree of the day at this customers house. They were concerned that this tree would hit their pool, so they gave us a call to remove it.
MASSIVE gnarly pine
มุมมอง 5Kหลายเดือนก่อน
This was a pine from a few months ago, and while it wasn't the tallest pine that we have ever taken down, it was certainly a challenge. It was a complete tangle of limbs and leads, which proved to be a very interesting puzzle to unravel.

90' wobbly sweet-gum
มุมมอง 4Kหลายเดือนก่อน
This was a very straight forward tree, with one single exception. It was far more noodly then it should have been on the way up. Seeing how the tree had grown from the ground, and the proximity of a white oak, I decided to tie myself into the oak and then use that as my primary tie in.
(RAW) THICCC pin oak removed from a golf course
มุมมอง 3.4Kหลายเดือนก่อน
The raw unedited video of an oak that was one of the longer climbs that I have had. It was right next to a golf course, and as such we had onlookers all throughout the day. While it looked imposing at first it turned out to be a fairly straight forward removal.

I’d be really terrified if I was going up there like that
Good work! I must say. One of the important things should be to get the climber out of the tree. Should always have 1 guy who looks after the climber wether it’s running ropes or getting him water, always 1 guy with him at all times. I say this because a few times you were just hanging around waiting for someone when they could’ve stopped cutting and looked up at you and lowered the branch to get you moving onto the next one. Just my thoughts.
Balls of pure steel!!!!
Cool vid man, we’ve all been there with a lot of not all of these situations. Stay safe bro 💪
Awesome job. No space. ❤❤❤❤
what kind of lanyard do you use? it looks so smooth, how does it pull itself through like that?
such a dangerous job
Tree guy is the name......💥🇵🇰💥
Its like a walk on the pine tree.good job...💥🇵🇰💥🌹
I'm curious about your liability. Are you on the hook to pay for any damage, are you able to transfer risk onto the owner or insurance?
At 0:45 when the chainsaw dropped. I had a heart attack that could've went bad in so many ways and im glad it didnt. I am even sure in some instances it has happened to people
Another good job. Stay safe. God bless. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I don't know who the boss is but I find that the one who is important is the one who cuts my I see that they leave you all alone they pick up the small branches and no one takes care of you the other companies that I look at there are always a lot of connected to the ground and there is always a person to take care of the blue rope, good luck to the cutters
Oh lets see your face to go with chat on camera.
Sandymoses6302 you must be new to this channel. He doesn't show his face. He has said that on a couple of videos.
Love to hear you talk. So professional. Good job 👍 too. God bless and be safe❤
What is wrong with the ground crew? I don’t usually say anything, but at 1:12:30 bad things almost happened. I hope you remind them both to pay attention. Have a blessed weekend, tree brother. Edit: I’m bad at personal safety stuff like ppe, but I’m not approaching the sawyer on the blind side or swinging the saw without looking first. Someone else is involved. That’s a whole different animal. Great video and great job.
That was some tree. ❤❤❤❤❤
Nice solution on that top over the house.
A little slow getting payed by the job or the hr.
Awesome job
How long is your lanyard?
Wieso muss der Mann im Baum so lang warten
dont you ever get scared
Oh yea, but sometimes that's just me over thinking. When I also get a feeling in my gut is when I start to be EXTREMELY cautious
how far would you up a tree that looked rotten, love your videos
Appreciate your commentary.
Thanks
That was fascinating. Couldn’t stop watching❤❤❤❤
Thanks
Considering all it takes to be a "certified arborist" is a 6 hour weekend course... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm not claiming to have my certification. If someone is actually certified they have to have been in the industry for at least 3 years and study for and pass a very thorough test from the ISA.
Those limbs look pretty brittle 😬😅
2:00 Nice of you to put a tarp on those air handlers...
Yea it was definitely an oversight, that we have since addressed and we now cover any AC units with plywood to prevent this from happening again
@@ReallyTallTreeGuy noice!
I like the consistency in the technique you use. Ever thought about using slings?
Yea I will on occasion, but I have had far too many go through the chipper because the ground crew doesn't pat attention
Was this a beautiful forrest before those houses move in, if so knock the bloody houses down and stop destroying gods creation ,ihope your proud of what you do, destroying nature 😮😮,
Thanks for explaining what you are doing I learn something every time.
Glad the videos are helping
Great running commentary. Good job my friend.👍👍
Thanks
Great job as usual. God bless. 🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤
Thanks
I know that was a hairy job but dude slow the fuck down when your cutting and how you leaving your bar at end of cut your going to hurt yourself
Yea I definitely needed to slow down. A lot of these mistakes happened because I was either tired or it was the end of the day.
I'm not an arborist by trade but my family owns property with 100's of pine trees so I often find myself begrudgingly with chainsaw in hand... I've got to say my hat is off to folks that do this work everyday. Underpaid and underappreciated for the toll one puts their body through to do this kind of work.
New bar and chain ?
Great work, man!!! I kearn something new every time watch your vids. Thanks!!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy
Great job buddy as always what did you say in the beginning of the video You're spiking the trees because of why I couldn't hear you thank you so much God bless
He said that the particular company he's working for doesn't care if you spike the trees even on prune jobs. A lot of companies and the general "industry standard" is to never spike a tree that you're not completely removing. It's a largely debated topic and kind of taboo to spike a tree you're not taking out completely. Personally I don't care. I leave it up to the homeowner. If the homeowner doesn't mind the scars left behind from the spikes then I spike up. If they don't want that then I use a knee and foot ascender
@GreatWhiteSquid that's exactly right, most of our customers don't care / don't know it's an option to have a spike less prune.
Why the owner doesn’t want parts of the tree on / over his property? Fear for his grass? For me as a foreigner it’s a pity I can’t understand your comments during your work. I suppose you are talking aloud to yourself.
The owner was worried about it failing and hitting his house
Like how you stay under flip line with saw
What are u thinking about
Insurance and bonded thanks
I’m buck 65 I can tell when I don’t need to go anymore but I thank. All of you all for taking the time to show me the things u have
I’ve been climbing dead broke live trees o how he with me
Forget all that climb use them branches get to the top relax dress and set everything have fun
If you’ll haven’t bought the apex squirrel feather it’s a must
Team keeping lines clear

This is sloppy work ..
