Every bike frame belongs to its own time, for me,I would have liked to see that beautiful Marosticana built with components from its time... and in the same way I would have liked to see those wheels and that groupset on a modern frame.

When I first got into cycling [n the mid-80's] beautiful framesets like this were the 'norm' - Battaglin, Ciocc, Basso, Gios, DeRosa, Colnago, Tommasini etc etc. Hand made by craftsmen using the best materials. Invariably, they were all equipped with Campagnolo and were what most 'serious' cyclists aspired to own. I bought a gorgeous white Gazelle 'Champion Mondial' - a lovely little bike that I rode and raced for many years. It never let me down and was my pride and joy. It had a '6-speed block' 52-49 crankset and Mavic wheels. Today, you pay an absolute fortune for some generic looking mass-produced carbon frame, fitted with componentry that lasts about as long as a puff of wind and becomes virtually obsolete after just one year due to the warp speed introduction of new 'developments'. I miss my old Gazelle.

In my experience these coloured varnish topcoats, while they look stunning, they chip very easily. I would cover vulnerable areas with a protective film.

i braze too. this guy is using far too much flux. if the metal was really clean only a small amount would do, there is another video on youtube of a guy brazing bike frames without flux. i agree with the comment on the torch tip, the wrong one, it looks like a small rosebud rather than a brazing tip

I dunno if I speak for anyone else, but I don't really see the point in building a beautiful bike and then just making a 2 minute video barely going over anything.

I wish I still had my BSA Tour of Britain I loved that push bike but it got destroyed in an accident

I was wondering How hard it would be to get modern-day brifters to swap from the downtube shifters. Also, do you recommend upgrading rims other than carbon? something more affordable. Thank you!

Nothing is more beautiful than a finely crafted steel frame with a heritage….. one of my best bikes is a Rolan Della Santa SLX, team bike for Rebook/Plymouth team from the 80s. How much more exotic can you get with a Classic builders frame on Mavic components?

54/99/23 I have a welded BB should be luged. Dents, chips in the head tube, poor welding, poor chrome finish the list goes on. I took delivery 07/12/23. Should not be having a £6000 frame repaired. How do you repair chips and dents and shoddy welding????

Maybe answer my emails and address my poor quality build ?? Repair is not an option on a Brand new hand made frame

I have a lugged Columbus max road frame with Battaglin dropouts, brake bridge, and OSMax fork, and the 3 color fill braze on at the top tube. Serial 3699, size 58. It’s had an unfortunate respray and no decals . Is there any information you can tell me about this frame from factory, such as year and original paint scheme? Great video…there are so many well built steel frames out there with great handling and comfort. Nothing floats like a proper steel fork!

It looks great. I'm a fan of the pearl finish solid colours, accented with chromovelato. I liked the Powerplus for this reason and am glad to see a TIG welded, solid color option being brought back. I would put Campy with a 45/29 up front on that. I just like the sound and tactile feel of mechanical Campagnolo, as well as the nicely polished cogset and chains. When properly lubed and broken in, they are silent and flexible like a rubber belt. There is a certain elegance to the simplicity and universality of Campagnolo mechanical groupsets. Everyone understands it when they see it.

Steel is real. I ride a 1998 Vetta made of Dedacciai DR Zero Uno with Dura Ace 7800 and Cosmic Carbone. I also have a Pinarello Stelvio made of Dedacciai Zero 18MCDV6 it will be fitted with Mavic Cosmic Pro and Dura Ace 7800. The Rossin presented here is fabulous, great lug work and fantastic polish. I still have my very first race bike a 1993 Peugeot Prestige made of Reynolds 708 with SL 7900 shifting levers on the frame. I rode many carbon bikes but it is like riding on a piece of wood and titanium isn't stiff enough for me.

Absolutely amazing work. I have a question though! I can see your using an inline gas fluxer. Why are you still adding flux to the joints? I have TIG brazed a lot over the almost 20 years I've been a fabricator but have never had the pleasure to really do much gas welding. I've got everything in the shop to do gas welding and brazing but I mainly use torches for a rosebud to bend metal or do preheat before welding so excuse my ignorance of a true art!

I am soooo tired of carbon aero bikes. I miss classic geometry and classic lines. Beautiful bike!

I'm not in to road bikes because I'm to heavy and too tall for them. I also don't like riding my bike on the streets but me oh my, this is the most beautiful road bike I've ever seen. You guys really have some classy, aesthetic and brutal looking bikes! If I would buy a road bike, this here would be my choice. It even reminds me of my custom UNNO Burn MTB!
