How does it switch to 45 ? There is in other Transcriptors I’ve seen , a simple switch like the on off reed switch . It simply moves the band up and down the pulley , but here there is nothing ? The reed switch looks a normal switch .are you sure it plays 45 ?
Yes, I am absolutely positive it plays 45. The support for the smaller records and the two sets of strobe marks on each of the two strobe pulleys are a dead giveaway. And as I stated in the video, there are two functions of that control. The magnetic switch and the cam. The magnetic switch is on and off. Both ends of the magnet activate the power switch. The cam selects one of two positions. One for 45 and one for 33 1/3. As you turn the control knob, there are four positions in a 360 degree rotation. On 33 1/3, off, on 45, off.
I have one in my garage right now the original motor is still good but all the brakes were shot so starting underneath and working my way up!
Great effort at double clutching. The real test of good double clutching is matching the engine revs to the gear box revs of the lower gear when changing down. Boy does that take practice.
You don't get there fast but you arrive in style........

Am I missing something here ,surely the arm assembly needs to be screwed or bolted in tightly .?
As I said in the video, it "may" have been glued to the rubber supports originally. I don't know. I did not glue it and it worked perfectly for me. I also said that I made sure it did not touch the base other than the rubber mounts. This way it is totally isolated from the base by the rubber supports. You cannot rigidly bolt it down and have the isolation you gain by supporting it with the rubber supports.
@@ama1437 I see your point about isolating the arm ,I, m just surprised it does not continually move about . l think l would try and glue it down myself ,but if you find it works ok without that I, m sure it does ....

T-146 engines are 230ci and for 48/49 B-1-D trucks....so I believe it is a correct engine if not the original L6 motor.

B = 1948-53 -years the series was built 1 = 1948-49 - the specific year - (1950= B2, 1951-52 = B3, 1953 = B4) D = is the letter for its tonage.....B = 1/2 ton, C = 1 ton, D= 1 1/2 ton So, for example: B-1-B is a 1948/49 1/2 Ton This truck is a 1948/49 1 1/2 ton

@@Tractors_Trucks_And_Pups 48 or 49.....you'd need paperwork to differenceate. 49 seems more common, but that might be my area. I have about six 1 1/2 ton rescue trucks and seven 1/2 tons. More than half have paperwork.....you can see most of them on my videos.

where can you find more information about identifying the models and the years on a Fargo Trucks? my one looks exactly the same, want to restore it but struggling to fine the information i want to know how everything works and stuff to do it myself

Love it, I have a 50 B2B I made into a 4x4. Still used the old flathead and non syncro trans, frame ect. Wanted the old school drive but with more off road capability. You can't beat that old Dodge feel. Thanks for the video!

An amazing and fascinating turntable indeed, but finding a sterling example nowadays is increasingly difficult, It is most certainly a master class in design, seemlessly transcending time, with the upmost elligance.
you need to adjust those lifters....
i'm reconstructing an Hydraulic, with original parts coming from a flooded turntable. Sadly i've lost the strobe wheel, where i can find one? great helpful video, man!
I just picked up an hydraulic reference table with mercury switch ...any setup or maintenance tips would be appreciated re..strobe etc
