Badger-folk - Middle Earth's Most Secretive Creatures #lotr #middleearth #tolkien
The Badger-Folk are a very mysterious and barely talked about race in Middle Earth. They are covered in Tolkien’s, The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, in one of the many poems.

    I love the fact that Huan saved his final chance at speaking for a good-bye to Beren and Luthien. He could have used his third chance to speak earlier on, advice to Beren and Luthien or delivering a portentous warning to their enemies. But instead, he saved his final chance at speech for a few simple, intimate words to the people he loved most. We don't even know what he said, and that's as it should be.

    Watchers of Mordor I always believed are the Sauron's failed attempts at trying to recreate the Palentir, instead of being able to perfectly view distances from far away it can only do the opposite and see all things within a certain area. The "Watching" Effect is actually the activation noise that triggers whenever an unknown /unaccepted individual is in the area, as due to being created by Sauron, they are directly connected to him.

    What happens to the balrog’s undying spirit? Being it’s a Maia as well

    • @MiddleEarthExpress
      @MiddleEarthExpress หลายเดือนก่อน

      you can only really speculate about this because Tolkien never gave a definitive answer even for non corrupted Maia but the Balrog would likely lose a significant amount of its power and ability to influence the physical world. A being as powerful as Sauron was still able to cling to the physical world after death and eventually able to construct a new "body" for himself but I'm not sure a Balrog would be able to do the same...

    There's a lot of possibilites. He may have been a very powerful black numenorian warrior and / or sorceror, or may have even been of regal and royal blood; Perhaps a Numenorian prince, or even Tar-Ciryatan or Tar-Antanamir. These were two kings who ruled numenor in the centuries immediately before the Nazgul first appeared. We do know that Tar Ciryatan fought and defeated the forces of the dark lord, before he became king. Whether he ever encountered the Dark lord himself is anyone's guess. Not particularly likely, but not impossible.

    I would theorize that they value gold for two reasons 1. That it’s the bane of all evil, dragons are unfortunately generally not the best guys around and 2. To smite the other beings of middle earth, they are all about power and demonstration of, they know it has to drive people crazy that they have all that gold and no one can touch it or do anything about it
